And also I realize all the times Andy was complaining about how she had to do a work related thing because her boss was making her and she didnt have a choice....Her job WAS and IS her choice. she made a choice to take a job that was incredibly time consuming. Now that I understand the concept of taking full responsibility for your choices, and that your choices are within your control!

For those who might be wondering, yes, Paris is the most romantic city in the world. The architecture, the lighting on the streets, the pavement (soft to walk on) and just what a walkable town it is. I lived there in my 20s for four years. There isn't a place on Earth more conducive for strolling with someone (any time of day or night), chatting or socializing better than Paris. Every other door is a cafe where you can nurse a coffee, a bottle of wine or a beer with a friend or lover for hours and bullsh-t about anything. It's unreal. It really is.
Building height is the biggest key. The entire city is controlled on the height. It makes a HUGE difference. I moved from a city that had massive skyscrapers to a city built on A Paris model and it took me a week to finally figure out. The dark shadows and blocking of the sun was gone. And of course, visiting Paris a number of times you get to see the absolute beauty that is Paris. She says, "I've had too much wine, and my judgment is impaired." But he keeps kissing her. The romantic music indicates that it is alright to take sexual advantage of an objecting girl.
This isn't assault?? She wanted to do it, but her conscience was stopping her since she just broke up with Nate. Then she thought "fuck it" and went along with it. I'm a woman too, but not everything is assault. Geez.
as sure as hell You are right, but it still doesn't do any good to any man. I am afraid that the point is - nowadays every woman can belatedly declare this as an assault, ans once that is done, the guy is trapped.
His lack of of discretion in leaving that mock-up around and how casually he discussed Miranda’s firing in front of her assistant makes me think he’s either an arrogant incompetent that would indeed have ruined the magazine or he expects Andy to follow him and Jacquline to the new magazine and offer her opportunities, one assumes in exchange for sexual favours or a relationship…

I'm glad that people finally take consent seriously, but don't conflate reality with a movie. This scene had a very clear message and if you watch the movie within its context you should be able to understand that their sexual attraction wasn't one sided.
@@assholic666 coercion IS assault. A lack of a no is not a yes, and she said no multiple times but he continued to kiss, while she was intoxicated. It was assault.
@@QueerNoob lol 'coercion'. Do u know the definition of that word? There were no threats or force used here.
Persuasion is not assault
“Tyranny is the deliberate removal of nuance”
I think I would have given up trying to "warn" Miranda after that phone call.
when I was younger I was also horrified like Andy was when he announced that Irv was replacing Miranda. Now that I've grown older and wiser, Im curious as to why Andy has such a deep rooted loyalty to someone who treats her awfully, from day one. And also I realize all the times Andy was complaining about how she had to do a work related thing because her boss was making her and she didnt have a choice....Her job WAS and IS her choice. she made a choice to take a job that was incredibly time consuming. Now that I understand the concept of taking full responsibility for your choices, and that your choices are within your control!
and if jaceuqline replaced andy she would have had a better boss :P
That's the effect of being so deeply manipulated I guess
@@victoriat2682 Maybe Andy would've been let go as well?
Maybe because Miranda was a mentor to Andie, and even hinted at offering her more opportunities "... at Runway or any other publication"?
She was manipulated by miranda to bend over backwards for this job, lest she get blacklisted by the journalism industry. Andy is also an ambitious person, and can thrive in the high pressure environment, as well as appreciate some aspects of the design world. In the end, though she hates who Miranda is, she also respects her. And in a way, they bonded when Miranda opened up about her divorce, and how she felt sorry for her daughters.
"I'm not your baby"
Girl: sleeps with guy
Also girl: I'm not your baby.
This never ceases to puzzle me.
Remember "An ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure."!
You mean condoms? Because of the sex.
The polarization here is kind of frightening. Shocker: they're both bad men.
Lol..."Have you COMPLETELY lost your mind?"
I'm not your baby ❤️
I blame that first scene for making me think I would have that kind of moment in Paris
Andy rushed to Miranda without brushing her teeth yet XD Maybe that's the reason she was so quick to get rid of Andy. 😭
Most beautiful city in the world is an easy statement for someone who has traveled to many throughout the world.
@@rbu2136 So true. I've never liked skyscapers or other tall buildings, the difference is so noticable. Yet they keep building them. I know they plan to build more in Oslo, which is close to where I live. I wish they'd get in their heads how much architechture has to say for emotional well-being.
Minus the smell of urine in certain corners and some street harassment but yeah, pretty great overall

After she said no the first time, and especially after she said she's had too much wine and her judgment is impaired, he should have stopped and respected that she said "no." What an a-hole.
And yet she kissed back
I was trying to find some sense in your comment, congratulations, there's isn't one.
Baseless and mindless accusation.

Don't matter, he already hit it.
Hope you learn that women can use men for sex as well, champ
Recently started watching the Mentalist and I swear I had almost forgotten Simon Baker (but my gut told me something was off and familiar about him) was in this. Saw an episode where he pretends to be an art collector/thief and I swear it's the same portrayal- SCARF AND ALL! made me cackle quite a lot. Don't think I've seen this movie fully since senior year of junior high (aka 15-16) when I saw it in cinema. Still a movie I think of fondly XD
She says, "I've had too much wine, and my judgment is impaired." But he keeps kissing her. The romantic music indicates that it is alright to take sexual advantage of an objecting girl.
This is a dumb, fake woke view. It’s clearly insinuated she was coming up with excuses but wanted to kiss him and be with him.

This isn't assault?? She wanted to do it, but her conscience was stopping her since she just broke up with Nate. Then she thought "fuck it" and went along with it. I'm a woman too, but not everything is assault. Geez.
THANK YOU!
as sure as hell You are right, but it still doesn't do any good to any man. I am afraid that the point is - nowadays every woman can belatedly declare this as an assault, ans once that is done, the guy is trapped.

Never break your neck to be loyal to mf'ers that don't give a shit about you!! Real talk! Lesson learned the hard way!😮
His lack of of discretion in leaving that mock-up around and how casually he discussed Miranda’s firing in front of her assistant makes me think he’s either an arrogant incompetent that would indeed have ruined the magazine or he expects Andy to follow him and Jacquline to the new magazine and offer her opportunities, one assumes in exchange for sexual favours or a relationship…
Exactly ! He's a misogynist shark, a womaniser , not a trusty worker. Fi ! 😤
I bet the actor improvise this scene 😂😂😂
There were no freeschies, she just wanted Andy to be quiet.
Miranda is such a troll lmao😂 she couldve just told andy
Christian is such a creep, Andy is telling him excuses that are meant to say "no" to his advances. Not to mention she's intoxicated. Just rubs off in such a wrong way.
Omg, what a logic. You must be very bright.
She shouldn’t need to have an excuse! She said no!!!!!!
So what you are saying is.... You are annoying, single and hot dudes totally ignore you.....
@@alejandromolinac When they don’t respect a womens space or wishes, yes. Absolutely. He didn’t take no for an answer and harassed her until he could take advantage of her. 🤣 I was just thinking that
A guys breathes im this current world and a women blames him.
Basically as long as things go their way, everyone is happy.
On the phone call scene, a guy would have immediately said; “they are going to fire you” before anything else.
How tf Nate or Christian get blamed but not THE CHEATER is beyond me. I guess it goes to show the lack of accountability.
No people, in this specific scenario. When she was saying "no" all of her body lenguage is literally sying "FUCKING YES BABY!"
Why so many people think or believe that was an sexual assault when it's clearly not?
They aren’t actual adults that have had romantic feelings for another person. Each kiss is like a shotgun breaking down those doors of doubt and insecurity.
Doesn’t matter. She said no and she’s drunk. Christian was slimy and he assaulted her.
@@zinc8002 she was not drunk at all dude and like I said, her "no" was not a real one.
Doesn't matter, you can be turned on hence "your body language saying yes" and still think that you rather wouldn't for whatever reason. A no is to be respected. Maybe it's not assault, but it's definitely not right.
My favorite outfit on her 😂
Been watching the Mentalist and I suddenly bump into this scene……

Very interesting and pleasant movie. The romantic Paris looks very lovely.
Why the hell is Andy wearing a ring on her toe?
It's called a toe ring. They've been around for a very long time.
Yup since the BC era
In a lot cultures women wear toe rings. To those who are not familiar with this tradition, it may seem shocking to them. But to me it is normal, because I come from a culture where it is normal for women to wear toe rings.

The reason why we don’t really condone Christian at all even though we should is because Nate was so unsupportive and throwing temper tantrums that when Christian came along it was a complete 180 for Andy.
Christian helps her get the manuscript, complements her and makes her feel great. However he should have known better than to completely advance himself on Andy like that.
the first part of this scene for me is a prime example of a predatory man. She gives three versions for "no" but he keeps pushing until she 'gives in'🤢. Lets stop normalizing this kind of behavior, and the way it's shown in media as the way to act. I liked this movie but this part sucks.

Because some women are intelligent.
