Jim, Charlie and Ged replaced Mel and Andy with younger musicians for the Acoustic album and proceeded to act like nothing happened. Mel was extremely upset by this because of his loyalty to the band over the years, and struggled financially too. He has refused to be part of books/documentaries as a result.
@@Sphat90 I think you're overcooking things a bit. Mel officially left the band in 2017 after recording the Walk Between Worlds album, he also features in the SM documentary Everything is Possible released last year. Over the years Mel left SM, at will, four times to pursue other projects, his passion was to record and release his own material and to do that he had to retire from touring, and thus from 2018 Cherisse Osei became SM's official drummer.
