wow this is very cool, and where i live this old time treat is called fairy floss ( tag hint ) at our local fair i believe the guy with the fairy floss machine makes the most money i love the idea of using different flavours
I guess it would depend on what type of smoke it smells like. Was it a burning plastic smell like some wiring or plastic part was overheating? Was it an oil smell, as it some of the factory oil was burning off? Or was it a burnt sugar smell?
Yes, after some use it does happen, but thankfully the sugar cleans easily with warm water. Is it possible that you are putting too much into the melter? This slows down the RPMs, which causes, among other things, the sugar to sling out un-evenly. I guess the one really big down side of this unit is, that the sugar melter/hopper is too small.
Great instructions! I have one ordered from Best Buy and can't wait for it to arrive! Cotton candy has always been my favorite since I was a child now I'll be making it myself! I'll be using Life Savers, plus I bought 3 jars of the flavored sugars from ebay. When I get everything I will be following your instructions. Thanks again!!
My cotton candy maker arrived! It is as easy you say. I used a few flavors of Life Savers and a couple flavors of Jolly Ranchers. They really did taste like what they are. I'm still waiting on my sugars from ebay but they are supposed to be here in a couple days. Thanks for the review. It made it loads easier for me.
@ITSALLABOUTMYEYE This one might be different, because it says to only use 2 pieces of candy, but I have used more than 2, it just spins a bit slower at first.
@MadeleineStanton So far I've mostly used Jolly Rancher candy, and straight table sugar. I've heard that sugar free candy can sometimes be a problem, and someone said that butterscotch candies do not work well. A few people have told me that they had problems getting their machine to work right, and here a few things that worked for them: they let it heat up a little longer, they crushed the candy before using, or they used less candy then they had been using.
Sugar free cotton candy! There's a wild concept! Wow! That puppy is fast! You could do root beer barrel cotton candy! You could probably get some of those big gourmet lollipops at the check out in Wal-mart, crush them, and make gourmet flavored cotton candy!!
i have the exact same one,but mine tends to get a smoky smell and starts to smoke. even before i put anything in it. i got it a few years ago and have never used it. could that be the problem
Yes you can but only the measuring cup that comes w the machine worth of it each time. I have also used worthers and a green apple and made carmel apple flavor and that is our favorite so far
@tiffanyrockzful I'm pretty sure that just about any child could use this with adult supervision. It is really that easy to use, as long as the instructions are followed. But remember, the center part where the candy is melted, does get hot, and you'd also want to be sure that your daughter understood this, and also understood not to try to put her hands inside while it's spinning. All that aside, it really is this easy to use; none of us in this video had ever made cotton candy before.
i wouldn't use the Jolly Ranchers in my cotton candy machine anymore. It made the cotton candy but it was really really sticky and too hard to make into a wad
i find it easier to take the clear guard off of the machine and to make the cotton candy stick right away take a moistened finger and "draw" a line of water for about 3 inches from the wide end.
my candy floss burns before it starts making the cotton candy and then it comes out a horrible brown color! AND IT TASTES EVEN WORSE! It worked perfectly for the first couple uses but now it just burns :/ I wash with boiling water but the inside still appears to be burnt… If someone could please help me i would greatly appreciate it!
I put my cherry flavored sugar in the machine after I let it run for 10 or 11 mins and I turned it off and let it stop spinning and it was still hot then I poured the perfect amount of mix in and then 7 mins later of running it starts to make it and only a little amount on the cone that I can see the cone still its just not working. Most of the sugar ended up dry and hard on the rim of the bowl before it started making the candy. Is my machine broken or something cause this is the first or second time I am using it. I built it correctly. I just don't know anymore...
the jolly rancher just turned into a lump of jolly rancher in my mouth. cinnamon dish sent strand of candy all over my kitchen and person it was cool looking though.
@BeanMeister22 i realy cant laught at u cause i dont hold it the way the instructions say and u can use lemon and lime cotten candy to make white web for spider themed cake :3 dont use butterscottch or carmel u learn that the hard way i had to buy a new one

i just saw this in Aldi Australia, price $19, best thing I have ever bought although I had a small sugar fire along the way
wow i got this and had no idea how to do it. this is the only video that is actually helpful to me. thank you so much!

Yes, you can put most hard candies into this machine. You can put them in whole, or crush them up so they melt faster.
It's suppose to sale here in the Philippines this
Home mode cotton candy someday.
This is great for those we love cotton candy
Thank you for making this video!!! I really needed this for a school project (my teacher made us look up our own instructions!)
Glad it was helpful!
I'm not sure if there is a way to do that; you may want to call their customer service number and ask them.

Kimmie P. I'm getting mine in three hours from Best Buy and I can't wait :)

Would this be suitable to make a lot of cotton candy?? We are having a birthday party for my son

@lipsmackerlovertv Yes, regular table suger works fine, and it tastes pretty good.
i have the exact same one,but mine tends to get a smoky smell and starts to smoke. even before i put anything in it. i got it a few years ago and have never used it. could that be the problem
does it work with regular sugar ? i bet it wont taste very good !
@buddyz143 If you do a Google search, you'll be able to find where to buy it. I bought mine at a Kroger store.
mine will be here by the weekend just ordered it off amazon for my bday soooo excited!
Can you use Floss Sugar in these machines? Thanks
dorothysue1 of course
Yes you can but only the measuring cup that comes w the machine worth of it each time. I have also used worthers and a green apple and made carmel apple flavor and that is our favorite so far

Thanks, and really after a couple of tries, anyone can be a pro with this :)
QUESTION!! once done I wrapp these into plastic bags and the next day they go down, they kind of melt...I´m I doing someting wrong?
Lilly-Anne Espinosa no. cotton candy does that
I've never tried it, but I think it would work because sugar is sugar.
i wouldn't use the Jolly Ranchers in my cotton candy machine anymore. It made the cotton candy but it was really really sticky and too hard to make into a wad
I have that and I love it! I made buckets and buckets of different flavors :)
I can't get ours to come out all fluffy like yours. We'll keep trying!
Got mine yesterday, and I can honestly say that every single word he said is true...
i dont know if this is a diffrent 1 but u can put up to 3 candy's in there
i find it easier to take the clear guard off of the machine and to make the cotton candy stick right away take a moistened finger and "draw" a line of water for about 3 inches from the wide end.
Is it best to crush the candy first?
Can you review a slurpy machine???

You didn't overload it, did you?
I got one but it works a bit weird with the hard candies >.<
I am using mine for the first time right now while watching this!!
can my daughter make this by herself but with adult supervision
I used Woden skewers cause they were smaller and they work perfect
can you use cane sugar
How much does it cost?
Hope you have better luck than I had.. Paid,3rd august..Still waiting !!

Kayley B contact your seller the one you bought it from or the company that made the machine :)
+Kayley B I'm having the same problem :( which machine do you have? Did you find out what the problem was?
Either way is fine, but if you crush it, it'll melt quicker.
Food colouring added to the sugar works,it just gives the candy floss colour. J
Thanks, this was a great review, I plan on getting one of these
I don't think this would work because the melting point of salt is about 800 Celsius and the melting point of sugar is 185Celsius
what about candy cane ? (broken up, that is ) that would be neat ....
Indi Kaur Sidhu it works I tryed :D
@lanceismean Yes, a plastic fork :)
@BeanMeister22 a little not that mutch since cotten candy basicly suger i'd say put a little in cause thats what i did
well dang! how COOL is this!
Nice bro.
Thumbs up!~~John
the jolly rancher just turned into a lump of jolly rancher in my mouth. cinnamon dish sent strand of candy all over my kitchen and person it was cool looking though.
I did werther’s original and life savers. It was yummy.
You're not supposed to keep twisting the cone. That just makes more work.
I don't know, but it would have no taste other than sugar.
Chocolate ????? Answer please :)
MONKEY.D LUFFY chocolate flavored tootsie pops
@BeanMeister22 Jolly Ranchers, Crystal Light Hard Candies, Root Beer Floats(Which are my favorite :), etc. :D
Probably not, it needs to be completely sugar based candies.
that looks good
Thanks for making it so simple, and less intimidating 👍👍
Nice I'm getting mine tomorrow
Friend: What are you eating?
Me: Cotton candy.
Friend: Cool!
My machine makes a really loud banging noise when i turn it on!!! Help!
+Makayla Mc if you can look inside it (I've never looked inside mine), you might find that the gears are broken.
Thank you!!! I'll check and let you know!

Cool as hell..
I'm not sure that chocolate would work; it would probably just make a mess :)
depends how old your daughter is probably like 12 years old she can do it with no adult supervision
@BeanMeister22 i realy cant laught at u cause i dont hold it the way the instructions say and u can use lemon and lime cotten candy to make white web for spider themed cake :3 dont use butterscottch or carmel u learn that the hard way i had to buy a new one

how can I get cotton candy to turn out like fluffy using machine like this? can I take the clear ring off and use it or will it not work?
tilman luther the machine will still work just not as well. It will make it harder to collect the cotton candy.
