It's wild that sitcoms used to make 23 episode seasons in like 3-9 months and now it takes shows 2 1/2 years to make a 10 episode season.

@@misty7627 Hopefully, his terrible choices in 'The Idol' come back to haunt him if he really decides to move forward w S3. I mean his and Able's writing and direction were so bad, HBO cut the whole production early. I can't imagine S3 being any better between the cast's schedules, the heartbreaking loss of Angus Cloud (imo i've decided I don't wanna watch it w/o him), and Sam needing an ego check. I mean what kind of director doesn't even make a script bc their breakout project was good enough to out them on a map? he has convinced himself he's too awesome to fail or have any criticisms which isn't great for producing a good piece of media

i feel like if they do cancel there wont be one specific reason, more so just a combination of everything going on with the show and cast recently that they wouldnt want to adress.
About Fez’s character, seeing how him and Ash (deceased ofc) were shot at, I wouldn’t be surprised if they wrote him off as also dying from the shootout.

all things considered, it’s a terrible thing that happened to angus, but the show has given itself at a really good opportunity to write out fez’s character. the way we left fez was he was either dead or about to be locked up, so you could continue that. plus it would actually be really easy to film a flashback with a stunt double or similar looking actor. like you could’ve had him do something that would make the police shoot him as well.
It’s cool that Euphoria is GenZs “Skins”. Skins has more substance, but Euphoria is a little more visually pleasing.
I watched Skins conveniently after watching season 1 of Euphoria lol. Also, I think you might mean Gen Z's "Skins"...but then again I think Skins came out like around 2006 or 2008 so maybe it's just America's version of "Skins"

I’m surprised you didn’t mention The Idol - the catastrophic reception the show had def made the HBO executives hesitant on giving green light for Sam do whatever as he was doing and knowing his ego he wouldn’t take that well. I’m pretty sure Euphoria s3 would have at least way more info out by now if he wasn’t associated with so many controversies rn.
I definitely was looking out for a cancelation on Euphoria with Angus being gone, but if it's true that Sam is writing for season 3(with no help as usual), then it definitely would need to be the last. Rue's storyline is already concluded kind of. Maddy is over Nate. Lexi finally admitted the truth of how she feels amongst her peers. Kat found confidence in herself(I think that was what we were supposed to conclude, Idk). Ashtray is gone, and Fez-- I'm kind of scared on what Sam will write to address his character - unless it doesn't get brought up. The only characters that need their stories concluded are Cassie, Nate and Jules...so yeah
Sam needs to locked up and kept away from pen and paper. Im afraid of what he might do to fill the gaps
he said before that he wanted to follow the characters into adulthood so it sounds like it’s trying to make it as long as he can
and rue’s storyline isn’t done yet, z wanted a happy ending for rue like how sam is who’s been more than a decade clean, there’s def more of rue’s storyline until she gets to that point
And if we're being frank, every single "finished" character arc was butchered to oblivion.
What I would've given for an alternate timeline where Sam got fired or downgraded to a mere consultant before the making of Season 2. It could've been written by a new team, mixing some of the old crew from Season 1, as well as new poc and queer writers. Additionally, they could've received open input from the cast, including Hunter Schafer, who co-writed the fantastic Jules episode from Season 0, as well as Barbie Ferreira, who, as we all know, was "mysteriously" blacklisted by Sam. Also, I would've put Petra Collins back on the project as an art director. What HBO and Sam did to that woman is disgusting.
@@20000dino pretty much, everyone’s character arc made no sense at all. i only half understood he wanted to make rue and jules relationship explode as a result of rue doing drugs to force her into self realization and how she needs to only rely on herself for sobriety and jules being terrified of rue distancing herself with her addiction and then her going back to male validation in she thought rue wasn’t interested in her. there’s so much to fix there
I’m ngl I wouldn’t really care if Euphoria gets canceled. Season 1 was actually really solid but season 2 was a MESS and Rue ends up clean by the end of it and Fez and Lexi won’t happen for obvious reasons so the only storylines I truly cared about are over.
Even though it was an entertaining show, I still don’t think it should EVER have been set in high school, literally if it had been set in college it would’ve made so much more sense. Plus Sam Levinson is a creep and The Idol was garbage so tbh just throw the whole man away. That’s just my two cents.

exactly! The crazy part is I tried to put people on to season one when it first came out and no one even cared until the debauchery of season two came out and it wasn't good at all! I hated season 2 and the 1st season will always be good. I hate the show took that turn. Season 2 was also way over sexualized as well in my opinion. There is nothing left to ride on. It's over lol

I would advise anyone watching this to look into the now redacted comments Petra Collins gave in an interview about how HBO hired her to direct Euporia (she created the entire visual aesthetic pulling from her years of work in photography and even did some of the casting!) but at the last minute fired her (with the excuse she was too young) and passed it on to Sam Levinson. Years later season 1 comes out and she only then realized when they changed directors they kept the work she had already done, completely ripping off her designs for the shows visuals with no credit. Just another reason to despise Sam Levinson, seeing as the stunning visuals and aesthetic are half the reason people were drawn to this show and is the excuse defenders of him will fall back on when people criticize his writing.
I plan on looking into this more, are there any interviews she's done i can watch?

See they could go down a Skins Route and focus on Gen 2 like Gia and her friends. Like still do a time gap with everyone but explain the aftermath through how it effects and connects the new kids.

It’s crazy how this show is only 2seasons in and we’re unsure about its future. I feel like actors used to cling to show that broke them…. Also it’s crazy how in the past, 5 and less seasons of a show was considered “cut short” but now….. 2 SEASONS!? That’s insane!

@@Liya_007 ooh, i didnt know about the trouble with the creator. I heard that they were having issues with some of the actors getting along like Jacob and Hunter and then the pandemic really postponed production for them and then their conflicting schedules too. I know sydney was filming White Lotus and some movies and Zendaya was filming and so was Jacpb Elordi. So a majority of the main cast was occupied.... I dont know.... Its still weird asf! Im trying to justify it but damn! The good shows always seem to take foreverrrr to film. Look at Squid games, Stranger Things...
right?? i remember when bbc sherlock was coming out and everybody joked about how they rolled out a few episodes every few years and called it a day. the way sherlock moved was weird in comparison to the other tv shows of that era and sherlock fans were always the most "starved" ones, but now this model is literally the standard, and it's really sad
They never should've cancelled that Degrassi reboot because Euphoria is definitely over after season 3 (if we actually get it). Y'all go stream the Heartbreak High reboot and Everything Now 😢

Honestly, the only thing I care about with Euphoria is Labrinth. I would love to see him do more soundtracks for different shows or movies, he is just astounding and he makes any project that he’s on just breathtaking. Love his music, so moving away from Euphoria might let him explore more creatively. His feature with Billie was amazing, so seeing him do more outside of the show would be great. 💜
Oh I been knew we weren’t getting season 3. One of the actors said the script changed 4 times and then he just stopped giving af. On the off chance that season 3 does come out I think it’ll be bad

@@kennemedia01 big big fax. I watched the first season of Euphoria when it came out, I liked it, but it wasn't my cup of tea. But when KennieJD came out with that video, it was hard to watch. She made some valid points. Especially when she asked, "who is this for?" That really got me thinking.

I mean, the way Season 2 ended, Rue’s monologue made it seem like that was it. I was honestly surprised that they said that there’s was gonna be a season 3.

I always felt like Skins is what was my Euphoria at that age and I wouldn't mind them doing something similar with different "generations" S1&2 of Skins following one group of friends (Gen 1) and then S3&4 following the group of friends of one of the little sisters from Gen 1. So S3&4 would follow Gias friend group. If not following Skins in a different way where they have a long episode following up on specific characters and where they ended up years later.
That could work out well, actually!

I feel like having different generations wouldn’t work, especially since a lot of the viewership is because the show has such a big names. If they decided to just change the cast to a newer gen the viewership would definitely go down.
I'm a huge Dominic fike fan and he talks a lot about how not only the sober coach but like therapists he's had haven't helped because they come from such a different perspective than he does so they don't really get it. I feel bad that they couldn't give him a better experience working on euphoria bc he deserved it:(
Honestly i think we just need to move on to the grieving process bc season 2 was messy (INSANELY FUN, but still messy), and theres been so many real life issues with it as well that i think we should just take the season 2 ending of rue actually recovering for once and accept it.
Even tho maddy was like “this is only the beginning” bc sam levinson loves to write himself into corners 🙄🙄🙄
They should treat it like a soft reboot, more like refocus on Gia as co-lead with Rue. They can bring in new people as well as some of the OG characters. There’s so much new talent out there. Maybe like how skins did it with a new cast joining every 2 seasons
This similar thing happened with Atlanta, there was a 4 year gap inbetween seasons 2 & 3. The cast is insanley talented with Donald Glover, Zazie Beetz, Lakeith Stanfield and Bryan Tyree Henry. They all came back to do 2 more seasons. So I don't agree that a show should end just becuase everyone is successful and famous.

Thinking about it back it kinda feels like it aged like milk, and it’s audience is all grown up now, the youngest people who originally watched it were like 15 in 2019 and are gonna be 21 in 2025, i dont see people flocking to it. It kinda has a reputation for being set up to fail after all the setbacks for next season and if it comes out i cant see it being an easy win for them. It kinda makes me sad because i had a lot of really good amazing memories watching it but it has no rewatch value for me and thats sad :( this show is kinda a time capsule of that time, but cant love beyond it at all. People still watch teen shows like skins but i cant imagine anyone watching this in 10-20 years

I feel like season 3 needs to be the last season because based off season 2 Sam is clearly running out of ideas. It’s also been so long I’m not really bothered to watch drawn out character development or cliff hangers anymore, it would be way more satisfying to just have all their story lines wrapped up.
Sadly I don’t really think euphoria is gonna go down as one of the defining tv shows of our time, (although it has the potential) because 2/3 seasons just isn’t enough for a show to have a legacy. I doubt in 10 years time people will be rewatching the show like people rewatch friends or even talking about it.
This might be rumored but I read somewhere can not find the link that Alexis aka maddy won’t be in season three at all.

I want season 3, mostly for closure (or better closure than season 2). If it didn’t happen I wouldn’t be surprised. I’d be disappointed, but it’s whatever. Sam Levinson should have done season 3 instead of The Idol. It would be nice if we got special episodes again, I loved those.

If we do we better get a better storyline for Jules. Shes the main girl who represents transgirls at the moment and the hate on her translated to hate in real life in my opinion. Please stop putting minority groups in villain-esque roles especially when there is so so so few representation in the media about them! Especially without a redemption arc
I never understood why Nate is seen as a closeted gay man when the whole time he's only been attracted to women, including Jules. It makes me uncomfortable when they call him gay as if they see straight men who are into trans women not straight
@@minionsarebae2434 yes! And not that this would matter much but Jules/hunter schafer is a fully “passing” female and transitioned quite young. It just doesn’t make any sense. He may fetishize trans women sure but is he gay? Definitely not as I dont remember a single scene that shows hes into men.

The problem with taking that long to make a season is so many more shows have some out. This point we’ve seen most of the actors in other shows or movies.

i will say dominic talked about touring this year with the euphoria cast also i feel like some/a lot of the fans realy do like eliot’s character and dominic’s been leaning in to being an actor not just an artist. also i don’t know if i’ll even watch with our dominic and angus.
I feel like season 2 left out ALOT.. especially with the Cal story I wanna know what happened to his friend, what happened with the little boy in the picture with Nate and his family, did Maddie go to therapy after the Nate breaking in situation, how long was rue gone for when she was in that lady house… like so much was just left a mystery and I still want answers.

Really liked season 2, but I'm no longer interested in Euphoria. The loss of Angus... heartbreaking. Sam Levinson's behavior also creeps me the hell out and I feel like many of the cast have moved on. If there is a 3rd season, it should definitely be the final for this show.

I feel like season 2 wrapped up pretty well
It’s open ended but in a nice way that makes you feel it got better for all the characters after it
I hate when characters are given a forced ending and that’s where I feel we were heading especially if you watched any clips or reviews on Dan’s last big project
I feel it’s best that Rue is focusing on her sobriety without Jules, Jules will move on but always have a special place for Rue, or you can imagine after some time they finally get together and live the rest of their lives happily
The girls will either all mend their friendship and be more mindful towards each other or split and find people who are good for their growth
Nate puts his father behind bars and is able to get help for himself, maybe even come out or ends up there himself (either way I’m good)
Rue’s family is doing better especially now that her sponsor is married to her mom and they are in a good place
And most importantly Fez and Lexi get their happy lives and ending😭❤️

It's crazy how Euphoria season two was supposed to film in March 2020 and come out in early 2021, but Covid-19 got in the way right before the cast was gonna start filming. And Season Three was supposed to start filming in May 2023, only to have the writer's strike get in the way right before season three was supposed to start filming!!! Us Euphoria fans sure have gotten bad luck. ON TOP OF THAT, season two would've been a great hit if Covid never happened because originally season two was supposed to continue all of the season one drama but instead Sam rewrote the scripts and made season two turn into something completely different and things just did not lined up during that time period.
Imagine they still tried to make a season 4 after how long season 3 is being delayed. 💀 Jacob had a point. At some point, the actors are no longer going to pass as teenagers if they wait so long and the show makes more seasons after the 3rd one. At this rate, we might get season 4 in like 2040 or something. We can't have Nate Jacobs looking like he needs his colonoscopy.
jacob already doesn’t pass as a teenager so ig in a way it doesn’t really matter unless he ages rapidly in the next 5 years lmao but yeah i imagine the actors want to move into grown adult roles now. playing a high schooler is really limiting, the audience will subconsciously see them as that always. I think that’s why so many freaked out at the (so not scandalous) challengers trailer, at 27 zendaya is still viewed as 17
I still don’t feel like losing Angus Cloud is real. It feels fake. He was one of my favorite actors let alone favorite character in the series. Rip to a legend. I miss him.

If season 3 has a timejump (after how rue said, she was clean for the rest of the school year) and the characters end up in college:
- Rue is clean out of drugs, with the looming threat behind her back
- Maddie is still single but have multiple flings, nothing serious
- Cassie & Nate is still a thing but very toxic, she might even be a baby mama that can cause Nate to add "being a dad" into his dysfunction and cassie having flashbacks to her abortion & fears if Nate abandon her child. She & Maddie are no longer friends. Although, i would love to see Nate to come to terms with his sexuality! [He is still as bad as he always is]
- Jules is in fashion school in nyc or she couldn't get in idk (would be interesting to see) or she drops out cz her dreams didn't come true - like both "Tyler" & Rue isn't there with her
- Lexi is in film school, still reeling from loosing Fez and has close relationship with Ethan (they can do a friends to lovers trope 🙌 tbh, they would be the most healthiest couple in the show)
- Barbie left the show, so idk about her character
My biggest fear is if they don't make a season 3, and I am sweating bullets over here waiting to hear what the deal is. 😮

I feel they should pull a skins. End it center around certain characters while finding out and ending the others story.
The characters in this show are so well crafted, both by script and actors, that i really wish the show gets some kind of send-off even if it's in the format of a special episode. The story is all over place but the characters are perfection
it would be interesting to see a season 3, especially if they commit to the time skip.
i just hope it won't be like season 2 and that there will be a more fledged out plot line for the characters. i would love to see the growth and even the aftermath of each characters choices, likw how rue's choices affected gia, if she even fully stays sober, where cassie's story goes and if she gets the help she obviously needs.
but euphoria was also insanely uncomfortable to watch. with all the unnecessary sex scenes involving high school characters (and any, tbh), the glorification of drug use. even if they weren't trying to glorify it, they did.
sam is a really weird guy, and i would honestly rather have someone else take the reins if they continue on with the show.
i had a conversation with my friend a while ago and we kinda came to a conclusion that instead of a season 3 they should do a movie or just do like 3 special episodes and if IF they want to do more within the world with the characters they should do a book series/graphic novel
If we do get another season I’d love to see character development and them actually being happy for once

Season 2 had its moments, but I wish the show would have stopped after the first season with all the issues in season 2 or just been written and handled better.

Its upsetting that we still have nothing going on with euphoria… this show became one of my favorites shows ive seen in a long long time. It was breaking records with the ratings it was getting. I really hope they start filming asap so we can get it January 2025

I don't think euphoria s3 needs to happen anymore. Like why y'all want to wait till 2026? This show premiered when I was a senior, like how am I going to be 25 watching the same "teens" I watched in high school? Make it make sense Sam!!!
Best case scenario we get 4 total seasons. Season 3 comes and does great and as long as they can make schedules work one last time so they can end it on a even season and they can plan for the ending and not rush the writing. That way they really end with a Big Bang

With a lack luster S2, so much of the cast out of the show, the significant time delays, and the death of the great Angus Cloud, it think it’s best to just leave Euphoria as it is. Angus really held a lot of the emotional core of the show and I don’t think Levinson can do anything good enough to respect Cloud’s memory while also providing a logical story line.
Honestly with rue saying she’s been clean since the play is a pretty good ending to the story, but in my opinion s1 was the best season and should’ve just ended with that 1 season
if they do decide to do more than 3 seasons, i feel like it'll turn into a Skins situation where they have completely different casts and different generations. it's a cool idea in writing and i think it'd be interesting to do like an "Effy" thing with Gia, where she becomes the main character, but Effy had a lot of her own issues with drugs and drinking before she was the main character and Gia just isn't fleshed out enough to take over such an important role unfortunately. and let's not forget that the later generations of Skins just weren't as good as the original and if Euphoria was already showing signs of poor writing and inconsistency in their SECOND season, i just don't see that whole concept being a success in any way. i just hope that they address everything like Rue's situation with Laurie, Cal's arrest, Fez's arrest, and wtf even happened in the time skip.

To be honest Euphoria should have pulled a skins and changed the cast every season. Under these circumstances it could have worked. I feel as if thought the Euphoria cast got too successful they're difficult to get on set to have new a cast could have been better. It would have been cool to follow Gia and what happends in her life cause we didn't see much of her in S2.

honestly i rly hope they don’t make another season. there was so many issues with respecting actors boundaries on set, the show its self was way too fetishizing of TEENAGERS (listen i get why but the nudity and sex got excessive at some point) and overall i don’t think Sam Levinson should be making media at all.
They should honestly make season 3 a 2 hour movie and end it on a good note
I don’t think there should be a season 3…the show really just went off the rails. And with Angus no longer with us I just feel like…it shouldn’t be a thing.

Petra Collins deserved better. She is the one that created all the aesthetics in euphoria season 1 but Sam Levinson stole it and fired her by saying she was "too young"....
At this point I don’t even care if it’s renewed. It came out my senior year of high school and I’m a literal adult now. My interest peaked season 1 and has left.
