TRUE STORY! I'm from Newark, N.J and in 1979 a few of our friends had their lip sliced from biting into an apple. It wasn't candy. Some candy was laced as we found out when our other friends ate the candy and WENT CRAZY. I never enjoyed or TRUSTED Halloween after 1979.

A kid in my second-grade class caught a razor blade in an apple... when biting into the apple, it went up between his teeth and messed up his gums. He had to get surgery to fix it and missed a day of school. Then when he came back, he was showing us the suture or whatnot.

Sorry, Arj, but that 70's myth of razors in Halloween candy isn't a myth. There's news footage and x-rays of candy with razors and glass. Someone poisoned Tylenol around then too. I was a teen, I remember a couple arrests. But for years after, all candy was inspected.
