  • DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver is an animated film that’s about not your average beaver! It’s the tale of Kit, a very independent (and easily distracted) young beaver who loves to explore the sounds of the forest she lives in.
DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver was written and directed by Kjell Boersma and produced by Josh Clavir with the participation of Seneca College, School of Creative Arts and Animation, based on designs by Julie Flett. Music by Erica Procunier.
DAM! The Story of Kit the Beaver est un film d’animation à propos d’un jeune castor femelle pas comme les autres! Elle est jeune, très indépendante, et souvent distraite… Voici l’histoire de Kit, qui aime explorer les bruits de la forêt où elle vit.

Took the family to see the film debut/ live TSO performance. The score is as wonderful as the film. Can’t say enough about this project - a brilliant combination and an incredible way to introduce our kids to the symphony. Thank you and bravo!

Beautifully orchestrated and illustrated! A fantastic example of use of timbre, dynamics, and tempo to tell the story. I will use this in class, first by just playing the music and having the students come up with story ideas.

we're very interested in exploring ways the film and score could be used as an education tool, let us know if there's anything we can do to help!

I absolutely adore this music and the animation!! I see that there is a lesson plan available for gr 4 - 8; however, a colouring page(s) would be wonderful for the young elementary grades! Making excerpts of the character motifs would be very helpful for teaching youngsters also (like Peter and the Wolf). How amazing to to have a recent Canadian score by a woman composer to share with schoolchildren!
