My last trip was solo. went to Paris in November, which was supposed to be a trip for me and my now ex, wasn't going to go but decided to last minute. BEST...DECISION....EVER!!!
I went out there thinking I was going to have a horrible time, that I was going to be bored, that it was going to be one big sob story because I was in the worlds most romantic city...alone. But it was all turned around by meeting someone who made my time out there incredible.
We jumped into a pile of leaves in the gardens of the palace of Versailles :P
You never know what situations you'll find yourself in, so throw caution to the wind and get out there.

I just got back from a solo trip to NYC and honestly everything they say is TRUE. Like I figured out the train system on my own and I felt like a boss haha. I didn't have to go to places that I didn't want to go and I could buy things and tickets that usually my other friends couldn't afford. There were times were I did feel like, "oh I wanna share this with So and so" or "Omg I wish so and so we're here to see this" but then you realize you're here for you! I definitely recommend it so anyone that wants to travel but sometimes get pushed back into not going due to friends or other things. You experience a trip in a completely different way😋

I went to Costa Rica alone last year. It was amazing even with my terrible spanish and struggles to figure out the money!

I agree that it is a really good way to grow as a person. Last month I traveled to San Francisco on my own, and I had never been to the west coast before. Well I was visiting my cousin, so I wasn't completely alone, but she worked from 9-6 (or later). A few years ago, I used to be someone who wouldn't even go to a store alone, and then on this trip I was flying, riding metros, and walking all over the city alone. I actually really enjoyed doing whatever I wanted and exploring without worrying about what other people wanted to do.
Y'all actually inspired me to travel solo! I went to New Orleans last month and had a blast!

Couldn't agree more with what you said. Obviously traveling with a buddy has a lot of advantages, like sharing the price of meals, but I have been on some solo trips and it's equally amazing. I spent a month in Berlin and I ended up being friends with my new roommate. I had the chance to meet his friends and do lots of stuff that locals do but that tourists don't really know about. Because you're traveling alone you kind of feel that anything can be a great opportunity for something unexpected to happen and you don't have to discuss with or answer to anyone, you can just make up your mind and do whatever you want! I definitely recommend it as well :D Amo o canal de vocês!

My friend is currently in Japan alone. I always said I wanted to travel there with someone who knows Japanese so I wouldn't be lost in translation but hearing about her travel plans inspired me! Im sure I could find people online who'd like to hang out
Oliver Long I feel really comfortable around people speaking a different language to me. But I always thought going with someone who knows Japanese means I can do more than just the tourist-y things
You don't need to know Japanese to visit Japan.
I downloaded few apps (especially the Japan Railways) and survived just fine.
I went on a solo trip to Philadelphia on my first flight when I was 16 for a conference. "One of the scariest moments in my life" This taught me to try and find the confidence in me, and made me feel "Fearless" that I could do anything I wanted. If you want to travel I say "Just do it!"

I am currently solo traveling and having a rough time. I knew Damon and Jo would help me through it loll
i always travel solo and i have friends i met on trips i talk to till today. I love the freedom of looking at a menu alone and eating what i want. When i get lost i'm more calm when I am alone than with someone else. People also take care of you more when you're alone i went to a resturant and the owner came and sat with me and talked to me about the food how the resturant started it's amazing. I wish more of my friends did this they think i'm crazy...
I'm doing it in 2 weeks and my friends looked at me like a crazy girl for deciding to go on a solo trip. I just felt like meeting new people and getting lost in a new country after a huge weight loss

Yes! Yes! Yes!! I just did 45 days traveling Europe and the east coast by myself. So much freedom to do whatever I want. You make friends with new people, learn how to adapt and you get to know yourself so much !
I loved this video!! Took a solo trip to Ecuador last summer and it was the most empowering thing. First time out of the country and went it alone AND got fluent in Spanish. Love you guys! Damon have fun in Tokyo!
Few days ago, I went for my first ever solo trip. It wasn't a long trip, just for a day, to a place which I've been to with friends and family, but going there myself was the greatest feeling ever. I had a chance to discover the town again, and had time to take photos and admire streets. I love it.
This video was exactly what I needed. I'm going to Barcelona for 6 weeks by myself and now I feel more confident and comfortable with the idea of traveling by myself. You guys rock

I love what you said about how you understand how you adapt to things and will be able to figure out new places. I never knew how to put that into words when people asked me if i was scared when i travelled alone.

I traveled alone for spring break this year to Florida. it was the most amazing experience. I traveled over 12 hours by myself in a car. I can't wait to travel solo again.

Solo trips are the absolute best! They're the perfect time for reconnecting with yourself. Also, you have so much freedom because you don't have to compromise on what you want to do, where you want to go, and what you want to eat!

I love seeing you guys together, and each one on their own :D. I took a 2 month solo trip to Europe, and it was the most amazing liberating experience. I can totally relate to what you're saying.
I've been to Mexico as my first solo trip via CouchSurfing and it was the most enriching experience of my life. I stood for 10 days and made life-long friends that welcome me with open arms at any time. My favorite part of the trip was pretty much being able to do whatever I pleased and it served as an organic go-with-the-flow experience. I'm looking forward to going back but desperately itching to finding what other friends and experiences I have waiting for me worldwide.

Took a solo trip to Iceland last November and had a great time! Reykjavik is amazing and the entire country is gorgeous.
When I was studying abroad in Spain, I took a solo trip to different parts of Spain during my winter holiday. It was my first time EVER and it scared me in the beginning. It turned out to be amaaaaazziinngg and I even made a new friend in Salamanca. We ended up hanging out again a few months later. My soul is yearning to travel again.
My last several solo trips were all inspired by you two!!! However, i fell in love with distant people, which turned out kinda sad at the end, but I think i'll still travel alone sometimes in the future, cuz you can really appreciate the beauty of the city and meaning of the life~ much thanks Damon and Jo!!!

I'm taking my solo trip this week too! I am going to Romania , passing through Hungary. I have never been this far to the East but I am super excited to double dare myself to go to two countries I never been to. This is my birthday gift to myself, this is how I'm going to celebrate ME. I consider my travels as my personal Manifest Destiny.

I loved traveling solo! I traveled solo for the first time when I went to the Philippines just this past summer. I felt like I got the chance to pay more attention to people around me and I personally understood myself on how I interact with others.
This made me look at traveling alone in a different light. Thanks for that ☺️

I just traveled to DC alone for the first time! It was the first time I did traveling alone and I was afraid at first (especially at night or in social situations) but it was SO great. So much freedom and it really pushes you to be out of your comfort zone, like talk to strangers or try new places. I can't wait to do it again.
