The actual regeneration starts with the bell tower. It seems quick because he doesn’t have to blow off all that energy because he used it to attack the Daleks.
I loved the sarcastic nature of Capaldi and was genuinely funny at times. Looking forward to seeing what you think as you explore more of his Doctor. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Hope you get well soon! This is an episode that I initially had no strong feelings about, but after rewatching it, I think it might be one of my favourite post-regeneration stories. I find it really interesting that Clara, due to her nature as the impossible girl, is very familiar with the concept of regeneration, but is still very scared and hesitant to trust the twelfth doctor because *her* doctor is gone. I think the call from Matt Smith's doctor is a brilliant touch, given that Clara is supposed to mimic the audiences reaction, and it's awesome to see the previous doctor who they already know and trust telling them to put that same trust into Capaldi. Introducing Doctors is hard, especially when the one who came before is a fan favourite. I love what they did with Tennant in the Christmas Invasion, where he's unconscious for most of the story until the situation becomes so desperate that the audience just needs The Doctor, no matter what face he's wearing. Anyway, this is an interesting series, and I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about it, so hopefully you enjoy it!
Strax's line about wrestling men gains a new dimension when you remember his difficulty with genders. You may recall that the Doctor never discovered what the Girl from the Fireplace ship was called. Intellectually knowing that the Doctor regenerates doesn't mean Clara emotionally understands that he is ultimately the same person.
"Please, just... just see me." That just hits deep man, made me realise there's a difference between looking at someone & seeing someone BTW, I believe the location for heaven is filmed in the same location as the garden in The Girl Who Waited. You can go to 2:36 in your reaction for that video & 14:01 in this video
Fun fact, the intro was made by a fan of the show as a fun concept for Capaldi's title sequence (ruclips.net/video/oXOBHnWiinY/видео.html). Steven Moffat saw it and liked it so much he invited him to remake it properly as the actual title sequence
Don’t know if anyone else mentioned it but the mask that Capaldi pulls off was an old mold they had of Matt smith. Thought it was a cool bit of trivia I learned a while back
I like this episode. Because it was also for the viewers. I grew up with Tennant and Smith. I was used to young looking Doctors. So my prejudices of Capaldi when he became the Doctor are similar to Clara’s in this episode. It was to show us why this face was chosen. It was chosen to remind him to be kind, to save someone, like he did in Pompeii. I don’t remember if they ever say that specifically. But that is what I inferred from the episode. And I think this is a very good one to ease the viewers not used to an older Doctor in to the concept.
@@yusaki8064 I didn't mean to rebuke, it's an easy mistake to make because it just adds up and everyone (incl @HamzaReactz in his reaction to Fires Of Pompeii ) wished for an explanation, and when it was given it became kind of a natural part of the Doctor's regen-history. I think Moffat did a great job here to mention it during the Doctor's post-regeneration confusion and then to leave it until it becomes a (small) plot device. I won't elaborate here because of Spoilers. What you wrote isn't that big of a spoiler anyway.
I always loved peter capaldi, so i was over the moon when it was announced he was gunna be the doctor, he was born to play the part. I thought his rough attitude was a breath of fresh air after matt smith’s over silly portrayal. But it put a lot of people off. Personally i love the doctor being played by an older actor
Wish you better. You sound rough as. No, get some rest and get well soon. I didn’t get that you didn’t like the regen, but would be fine if you didn’t too. Don’t worry. I’m v keen to see what you make of the new era.
Thank you for doing this, being ill is horrid so I genuinely appreciate you doing it. To be honest, but no spoilers i've not liked the 2 of the 3 60th Specials so far so been looking forward to this much more. Get well soon, and I look forward to the finale of this series... Massive treat for me :) x
Oh interesting. I’m aware that there are controversial things in both specials but as far as the actual story I don’t know what it’s about. Hopefully you enjoy the third one. Can’t wait to watch more :)
My favourite and the best of the NuWho Doctors in my opinion Peter Capaldi brought Dr. Who back to form like the Classic series Doctors the one thing Capaldi insisted on with his Doctor compared to the first three in NuWho was no romance or kissing his companions I found Clara slightly annoying and don't think that cameo of Matt Smith needed to happen I think it was there basically to tell the young fangirls "get over it the Doctor is not young or hot anymore" basically but overall a good episode and a great start to a new Doctor.
You don’t sound well. As delighted as I was to see this on my, I’d rather you took the time to get better As far as the episode, I wasn’t feeling this one. While Capaldi became my favorite nuWho doctor, I felt like the personality change was too much of a hard left. Granted he was “born in battle” like Nine was, so he’s darker. Now rewatching this, I find I like it a lot better than I did at the time. I think I had a hard time adjusting to the change. I like Capaldi’s take on the doctor better next season. This season was the producers idea of 12. Next season they let Capaldi be his version and imo it’s awesome. I should give this season a rewatch. His accent…he had a vision of Amy just before regenerating. Of course he’s got a Scottish accent. We had lots of discussion of what that last clip was. The promised land? Who is the woman? We were all speculating For the record I like Clara was 12 much better than Clara with 11.
Understandable. I can understand if anyone doesn’t like this one. It’s drags a lot. Doesn’t need to be as long as it was. But for a post regen story I thought it was good. Can’t wait to see more :)
I’m better than I was, able to walk around, do and get things on my own. But still not well enough to make videos, like I cant talk/laugh without coughing :)
@@HamzaReactz that's good to hear :) I hate the thought of recording while ill! You need rest. I can see it being annoying being a reaction channel and wanting to watch the next episodes!
Like the 50th this was a cinema event (though of course not in 3D like the 50th) & it did look really good in my local cinema 🥰 It's a bit padded out of course but it was a great opening episode & was distinctive compared to Matt's Doctor
I do like this story but Clara's reaction to the Doctor irritates me here. Three episodes ago she sees every incarnation in his timeline, two episodes ago she spends a day with three of them, now she suddenly can't understand what's happening? It does seem a bit convenient but then I'm not a massive fan of Clara to begin with.
fun fact the homeless old man is played by Elizabeth Sladen`s husband
Thanks for telling me :)

Get well soon . Have some hot tea with honey & lemon and a bowl of chicken soup.

😅”here we go again” is a reference back to the Brigadier when the 3rd doctor regenerated into the 4th.

Glad to see you back!

True, didn’t think about that :)
Yeah, they do say it at some point, but now you said it...
But anyway, "who frowned me this face?" is such a great line!

Kinda funny that she didn't recognise regeneration wen she saw 2 previous versions of him
Talking about clara? Cause im pretty sure she recognized him. she just didnt want to accept that The Doctor she had gotten used to was gone.
Technically Clara has seen all of them including now the War Doctor😃
Oh yeah. .of all things the clockwork droids from girl in fireplace returned... thung they worked better as a one off
Yeah should’ve stayed as a one off episode. Didn’t need to come back :)

It matches up with Nine's northern accent being based on the War Doctor's experience with Clara.
