Please do a video on menopause and hormones and wrinkles, weight gain, body speeding up aging process. I know there’s a lot of concern about breast cancer and taking hormones in menopause. But I just heard something about all those studies being done ages and ages ago and the studies weren’t done correctly, so they really didn’t know if May have been candidates for getting cancer anyway. So please do a video on when a person should start taking hormones and when it may not be the best thing or if there’s a better alternative to this, and who am I person might go to to start hormone therapy. Because I’ve heard that most gynecologist don’t really know much about menopause at all. That’s the least studied portion of OB/GYN so what kind of education should a person be looking for when they’re looking for a doctor to start hormonal therapy with? I got cancer breast cancer at ages 49 .got menopause at the same time . I used to look way younger before but know with cancer and menopause I start wrinkles around my eyes and in my face.which something make me un comfortable 😢
I went through early menopause at 43-44. I’m 70 now. I’ve been taking hormones since then with gynecological approval. There are new studies that a woman can take them the remainder of her life with many benefits (breast cancer risks have been downplayed, original studies were flawed). I take bioidentical hormones. I use an estradiol skin patch replaced once week, an estradiol tablet inserted in the vagina twice a week and progesterone capsules day 1-12 of each month. If I took progesterone every day it cancelled out some of the benefits of the estradiol patch but then I wouldn’t get a period (yes at 70!).
I beg to differ. I’ve been taking bioidentical hormones since I was 44 (early menopause) with my gynecologist’s approval. I’m 70 now. New studies down play breast cancer risks (flawed original studies) and say there are many benefits taking them for life. @@lizlfranken-desousa7535

Just fyi: collagen can greatly increase the risk of kidney stones for kidney stone formers, so like krytonite for calcium oxylate kidney stone formers. You should include that caution when speaking about that as for those people kidney stone formation and discharge of same is not only severly painful but over the long run can cause CKD and even total loss of kidney function
@@Daisy-xl4xuYou should probably speak to your doctor (one who has a deep familiarity with your medical history) right away and whenever you decide to add or remove a new food item from your diet on a regular basis. Vast majority of kidney stones are formed of calcium oxalate. It is only a minority - maybe 1% that are formed of an amino acid found in collagen. So there is a risk of forming kidney stones by taking collagen but it is very small.
Dr. Karam, this is one of your best videos. I believe there are things women and men should do before having any plastic surgery done. One of them are all the things you talk about in this video. However, I do many things here that you recommend and certainly the miconeedling has been amazing. I wish you had clinics in the UK ..
I used tretinoin for over twenty years, listening to others I decided to implement vitamin c serum in my routine about 3 years ago. I was fine for about a year! After that first year, suddenly I couldn’t use both vitamin c and retinol in any steps. My skin freaks out, it gets freckle reddish, tender stinging, so now I can not use them together in any routine. Not one in AM one in PM, not one today one tomorrow barely getting away with using trentinoin/retinol. Thank you for the tips Dr. Karam.
I'm sorry to hear that. In order to prevent this kind of reaction, we've encapsulated our Retinol in the KaramMD Trifecta to allow for a slow release to the skin and added anti-inflammatories around the Vitamin C. In addition, we've formulated our Vitamin C serum (Quench) and our all-in-one Retinol cream (Illuminate) with two daily half doses of these ingredients for a gentler result. Also, it works as an “internal sunscreen”, protecting the skin from UV damage from the inside out.❤️
Thank you for the comment and for watching! It's important to make sure any supplement is in the proper dosage and to tell your doctor if you are taking biotin supplements, especially if you are having lab tests done.
Nutrafol has maintained my transplanted and native hairs. I tried all other hair supplements viviscal, prenatal, biotin alone etc. but this nutrafol seem to be the best one out there , if one has the $$$
Thanks for the question! Collagen is the primary structural component of connective tissues in your body, present in high concentrations in cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bones, teeth, skin, hair, and nails. Silica, however, is a crucial nutrient required for collagen production. The key difference? Collagen serves as a ready-to-use base for an immediate collagen boost, whereas silica aids in the synthesis of collagen

A lot of the foods you listed are in my diet and that makes me feel great. Thank you so much Dr. Karam for this great video.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I think you only have to stop taking biotin before your thyroid blood tests. Check with your doctor.
Thank you so much for providing clear, succinct and important information based on peer reviewed studies and your personal experience. I found your channel a few months ago and have learned so much. I appreciate a trustworthy source of information.
He missed a few very important anti oxidants, like pycnogenol, astaxanthin, alpha lipoic acid... CoQ 10...! Incredibly important for anti aging!
yes very truth, and NAC, Taurine, NAD
or even glycin and b3
Please, could you do a video about HRT: Bio identical hormone replacement therapy. Thank you in advance. Your videos are very educational, well done, and easy to understand.
Dr. Karam-Thank you for this video- deciphering this all can be overwhelming. Can you talk more about specific brands of high quality vitamins, minerals & supplants- it’s like a mine field out there. Also- if we supplement with these things- do we also take a quality multivitamin? A quick “cheat sheet” would be incredibly helpful. I use your trifecta line & LOVE it- thank you @dramirkaram
The B vitamin Complex with added vitamin C everyday at breakfast really helps fuel my body and provides energy
They absolutely do not
I am in South Africa and I think we have them in our country. I am just in them to buy and use as I have aged. Good advice and God bless you Doc.
Video coulda been done in 15 to 20 mins.
Thank you Doctor ❤
My favorite supplement is Astaxanthin. So great for the skin, not sure why I don’t hear about this from more doctors.
We included Astaxanthin in our KaramMD Enrich Breathable Barrier Balm. A great ingredient!
This is expensive and mostly found in the Antártica krill oil and it helps to make the collagen from the inner body. I am glad you mentioned it.
Probably because it cause stomach pain
What a great video! Thank you, Doc!
For those considering omega-3s (which should be everyone), do yourself a favour and get the algae-derived kind. Fish only have omega-3's because they eat this micro algae, so better to get it direct from the algae itself without all the harmful chemicals that accumulate in fish.
This is great insight, thanks for weighing in!
May I ask if algae-derived omega-3 contains both DHA and EPA?
@@dramirkaramhey doc all the omega supplements out there are rancid junk.. Do deeper research please.. You're 100% wrong
Thank you so much Dr Koran. You are so correct. Blessings to you and your lovely wife.
Thank you so much for this video, and including your wife into your daily basis healthy routine, is is very important that a patient can fully trust the Clinician actions by respecting his work!
Hello can u plz share dr karam which brand of hydrolysed collagen u use plus plz let me know the supplements brands that u use
Im 100% vegan and get all my nutrients from food. For B12 I add nutritional yeast to my food regularly. For omega 3 I eat hemp and chia seeds. I get blood work yearly and it’s always excellent better than most animal product eating people I know.
You don’t need to supplement if you’re vegan just make sure to eat a balanced diet.
Edit: Also Moon Juice has an excellent vegan collagen boosting supplement.
Vegan collagen is not collagen,. There's no such thing as vegan collagen because collagen is made out of animal product.
Absolutely this! I am an ethical vegan so my reasoning for going vegan had nothing to do with vanity reasons as I am already an Esthetician, however my skin completely transformed when I became vegan. I feel as if I’m aging backwards! I do eat a Whole Food plant based diet with minimal processed vegan foods and exercise regularly but just cutting out all animal products was a game changer for my overall health and skin! Treating my body as a temple and not a graveyard has truly changed me and I never harm another living being in the process! It’s a win win 🌱
@maritzamartinez551 There's no such thing as vegan collagen because collagen is made out of animal product.
I'm glad you found a healthy lifestyle that works for you!
@@FragranceEuphoria I meant to say vegan collagen supporting supplement. Drinking collagen to support collagen health is like eating brain for cognitive health. Doesn’t make sense.
When people smoke they loose a lot of collagen smoking is bad for collagene
Smoking is bad news all around.
Thank you Dr. Love your channel. Newest subscriber ❤
Pls tell me dr .amir that can facial scars which are acne scars ,can it b treated perfectly
Thank you again for your science backed videos. Appreciate that you share your knowledge with us!
Dr, what collagen brand do you suggest to get? Thank you
This was very helpful! Thank you Dr. Karam!
he‘s the only doctor i trust online. i wish he wasn‘t so far away in california. i‘m from europe so seeing him is almost impossible 😂
Well if you can afford his services you probably can afford a plane ticket and extended stay in CA 😂

Dr. Karam, vitamin B5 is pantothenic acid while vitamin B7 is biotin. In this video you're recommending "biotin (vitamin B5)", so which one are you referring to, the B5 or the B7?
Hello I am a brand new subscriber and this was excellent and spot on.! We swear by using Hydrolyzed collagen peptides and many of these vitamins. I also use retin A, lots of SPF and barrier repair topicals . I am 64 and I look early 40's with no botox, fillers nothing. People are shocked when I tell them my age. We went to Italy for a while and I did not take my collagen and I could tell a difference over time. I have no wrinkles and also try to eat many of the foods you mention. What you are saying works, my husband and I are a testament. We have been using Andrew Lessmans ( Procap Labs) collagen and vitamins because he is amazingly knowledgeable like you and ethical and his products are the purist. Since taking his products our doctors and hairdresser have seen so many changes! We are so thankful. I love videos that are pure knowledge and people do their research, so you both remind me of each other which is an amazing thing. Thank you and keep educating us and I may try your products as well. I love the calm educational style. I also watched a video on retinol/Retin A an while ago and that was very good, wanted to have my son watch it so he starts young to have beautiful skin and health but have not had a chance yet. Very informational.
Thank you very much..any good advise on hyperpigmentation
What a treat to listen to you on my Sunday morning .. I have again learnt so much thank you kindly for your time. Is there any way we can have all of this in a multipack .. so that it is all in one place, at the recommended amount .. that is my biggest issues with vitamins and supplements, it is just too much effort to get in, take all .. life takes over. However, I do many things here that you recommend and certainly the miconeedling has been amazing. I wish you had clinics in the UK ..
Excellent video, Dr. Karam!
Very helpful information, thank you
zinc has saved my skin. i take it every single day and it helped so so much with acne
Awesome video. I really like how you took the time to tell us the foods that contain these vitamins.
I'm glad it was helpful!
Karam.
Try to use stable forms of vitamin C and lower percentage. Also I highly recommend niacinamide, it was a game changer for me!
You look very handsome for your age.Are you doing Botox injections in your face?
Dr, Can u make recommendation for what to put on lips? I’m 55 and newly menopausal women. My lips peel and I don’t know why. I use vit c serum, glycolic acid, and retin A on face but I don’t use it on lips. Could any of these cause lip peeling despite the fact that I don’t put them on my lips? Or could this be another “pleasant”effect of menopause? This started a few mts ago. Products and menopause occurred 2023. I use
high quality products too.
I wish more men put at least half as much effort into their appearance as this dr does!
@@rickgrimes9979I saw him on another video talks about micro Botox and he states that he does do it in his forehead etc and ensures it’s done subtly to allow for movement.
You should clarify: more isn't better (people love to megadose vitamines!). Vitamin E is also a potential risk in smokers.
Nice informations. Its one of the best video.
Hi
Thank you for your informative presentation.
I would like to know how KARM MD products maintains Vit C and stops it from oxidising ?
Dr. Karam , what a Great video, the explanation & choices are perfect. This is one of the best videos I have seen, thanks so much for bringing us all your great expertise 🙏👍
I got this from Amazon grass feed ZAYTUN. Collagen peptide and it’s halal. I am a Muslim so I always look for halal. Alhamdulilah.

This video is very clear and impressive, love the fact that you did mentioned nutrafol and bovine collagen, in addition, could you provide a list of exactly what products you take on the daily???
There are so many (not so great) choices 🤔
All of them are in the video! I get most vitamins from my diet but I take Vital Proteins collagen and LMNT Electrolyte Drink every morning.
Beef organs supplement
Thanks for all your info Doc ❤
Thank you so much for this very generous informative video. I would like to know if you are getting any compensation for mentioning nutrafol and vital quality proteins.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't receive any compensation from those brands, I just share what I like.
Thank you for giving so essential to anyone helping. I just start to listen to your info by accident & I love it .
Dr Karam, what is your opinion on taking trans resveratrol for anti ageing?
It may be beneficial as a supplment but I don't think it can replace the use of active ingredients in a consistent skincare routine.
I want to start using bone broth. Can you recommend a brand please? I'm hoping it might help improve osteoporosis too. And thank you Dr Karam for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us!
There's not a specific brand I recommend. Just make sure you find one with quality ingredients, preferably bovine derived.
I make my own from organic chickens only.
Is there a way to eliminate the “music” while watching the videos? It’s exhausting for my head to listen to the information and to the other sounds. I’m a very musical person and too sensitive to noise 😔
Dr what about saw palmetto
Is for the hair loss

Which brand collagen as tablet form would you recommend for a 50 year old man? Or won't it make no difference to a 50 year old man now?
I love your skin care. I’ve been using it for over a year and I love it. I have an olive skin tone and have been fighting melasma since I was in my 30’s. I’m 50 now and my skin has never looked better. It’s a little expensive but so worth it.
Please tell me what you are using
Quite simple, the best health oil I have ever used is Castrol GTX. No more skin issues I look 10 years younger

Thank you handsome for helping us stay healthy and youthful!☺️
Amazing information as always. Can you please recommend a multivitamin that has all of these instead of taking them individually? Thanks so much ❤
A study just came out that showed taking a multi actually shortened your life.
I don't have a multivitamin recommendation. I get most of these from my varied diet but if you find one make sure to use the guidelines mentioned in the video to find a quality product.
@@kellycoffin5052I wouldn’t trust one observational study. We don’t know if the multi was the cause, people who take a multi may be more likely to be trying to make up for an unhealthy diet, for example.

Hi doctor,
What’s Hydrolysed Collagen Peptide VS Silica?
Why not taking Silica?
Thank you
Regards.
If you’re vegan or vegetarian, to boost collagen you have to make sure you’re eating food that boosts it (citrus fruits, berries, GARLIC, leafy greens, beans, cashews, tomatoes, avocado)
Thak you, I am 62,yes photo is current and I have been taking all of the supplements you suggested
That's great!
Thank you Doc❤❤❤
The main ones I take are collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, silica, D3 & K2, Astaxanthin, and chlorella. I’m 39, 0 wrinkles, don’t use Botox. (I also use astaxanthin topically in my skincare. It’s 6,000x stronger than vitamin c and 0 irritation)
whats it called the topical that you use?? :-) thanks!!
@@ruthbar5352 I just open one of my Astaxanthin liquid supplement capsules and mix it in my skincare. Makes my face orange at night, but worth it. Read several scientific studies where hairless rats were irradiated with UV light, and given internal and external astaxanthin. Their skin damage was reversed. Also, it works as an “internal sunscreen”, protecting the skin from UV damage from the inside out.❤️

I’m surprised you mentioned biotin as I thought this doesn’t do much for skin and can affect lab values when used in high doses
Thank you for the comment and for watching! It's important to make sure any supplement is in the proper dosage and to tell your doctor if you are taking biotin supplements, especially if you are having lab tests done.
Thank you for sharing great info

Hello Dr Karam, thanks for your message about the Vitamins and Supplements. Very informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
You mentioned nutrafol for hair loss, have you seen a change? I have been considering this product. Thank you
Yes I think it's a great product if you're consistent.
Nutrafol has maintained my transplanted and native hairs. I tried all other hair supplements viviscal, prenatal, biotin alone etc. but this nutrafol seem to be the best one out there , if one has the $$$
What a great Dr. to let us know what to do

It would be great if you told us how much DHA versus EPA to take in the fish oils because they vary greatly and they’re good for different things
Is Living Silica equivalent to the powder form of collagen?
Thanks for the question! Collagen is the primary structural component of connective tissues in your body, present in high concentrations in cartilage, ligaments, tendons, bones, teeth, skin, hair, and nails. Silica, however, is a crucial nutrient required for collagen production. The key difference? Collagen serves as a ready-to-use base for an immediate collagen boost, whereas silica aids in the synthesis of collagen
