    I just took delivery of a Tiffin Phaeton 40 IH with Aqua Hot 450 D. Your video gives me an understanding that I previously didn't have, and I thank you for that valuable lesson. I am concerned that these units are not as reliable as I previously found my propane furnaces to be in my other motor-
    homes. I am hoping my Aqua Hot will be trouble free for many years with proper maintenance.

    You are awesome! I have been having issues with my Aquahot 450d not igniting and after watching your videos I was able to fix it myself. However, now have hot water but no heat inside. I'm thinking my check valves are clogged so tomorrow I'll try knocking on them. This whole thing is frustrating because I paid good money to have an annual service dinner in Palm Springs just 3 months ago. Note that I've disassembled the Aquahot, I can guarantee that the guy robbed me and only changed the fuel nozzle and filter. The inner combustion chamber was absolutely filthy and a bunch of build up carbon. It was nasty. Anyway. Hoping I can figure out my heating issue tomorrow. Keep on with your videos, they are amazing. I live in Whidbey Island, wish I was closer to you. Thank you.

    I am so glad I found this video, I had this exact problem when my 450d would make hot water and no heat. It was 25f outside when it failed. I called the folks at Aqua Hot and they helped me troubleshoot the system and bypass the command circuit in the coach, the pumps were good but the circuit board just got stupid. After I jumped the signals the system started working and hasn't failed again. Go Figure. It was great to find a video explaining what the components are and where they are located.

    Very happy I found this video. I have the same system, a 450D, and the front furnace isn't blowing hot air. Of the two lines exiting the Aquahot, only one is hot. So I thought it was a pump issue and this video confirms it. Now I know how to definitively troubleshoot and fix it. Thank you!

    So this "Aquahot" heats the water and the air in your coach nice, thanks for another educational vid. I'm new to RVing and just started working on my 2007 SeaBreeze from National that went out of business the following year. So far the transfer switch, kwikee steps, generator, and one AC unit are not working, The levelers were not working but started working when I replaced the two deep cell batteries. I don't have an Aquahot it was just interesting to watch your video. I will be wearing out your channel, thanks for the help. I haven't got to look at the frig or the heater yet don't know how they are holding up.

    Really good info I do have a hydro hot system and it's working after some needed maintenance. But my issue is I also have a 110 hot water heater which I can't find to replace the heating element. My question is it actually part of the hydro hot system, I'm thinking it could because it should be in the hot water tank of the hydro hot.

    Great video i had the same square pumps last year and followed your instructions to the "T" replaced them with the retro kit and all was well. fast forward 11 Months .. I don't have heat coming out of the rear coach for pump zone 2... zone 1 pump outlet hose is hot to touch but zone 2 pump outlet is warm and not as hot and the heat exchangers are not putting out hot air .. would i assume that zone 2 pump is out ? All the lights for zone 1 and zone 2 are green .. one indication would be there was an over flow of boiler fluid from the reservior one day which maybe that Zone 2 pump failed and not able to pump out the fluid for that line ?

    You are supposed to drill holes for the pump or the cover will chaff the wiring on back of the pump. That bracket is for the stir pump which has already been replaced. Also, nice dipping the hose in the antifreeze but put the pump in there as well to make sure it is lubed and not dry.

    I have a 2016 Thor Tuscany with a 400D and only one of the two zones function. Both pumps are operating and I’ve disconnected zone 1 return line (which does not get hot) and no antifreeze is flowing. I’ve drained the boiler and made sure the check valve was good. Funny thing is that the zone configuration does not match the schematic from Thor. I can’t find any kinks in the lines. How should I blow out the line?

  • @LowsJuan
    @LowsJuan 5 лет назад +1

    Very interesting. So on the inlet side of the pump there is a rubber hose that connects into a metal fitting on the wall. Is that a check valve?
    Aqua hot seems to have engineered as if none of the parts will ever break. No valves to isolate the pumps from the system and jury-rigging the door switch seems like they really cheaped out.

    • @MyRVWorks
      @MyRVWorks  5 лет назад

    Hi Garrett, I live in Bremerton but am currently in San Antonio Texas.
    I have a Tiffin Allegro Bus with a 450-DE Aquahot. I had no heat to zone 2 on my heating loop. I thought I had a stuck check valve. I tried releasing it with the hammer trick not still no heat. I decided to drain the boiler fluid and replace the check valve. Lo and behold, the check valve was not stuck. I’m thinking it’s the zone pump. The motor runs fine but it is not pumping the boiler fluid. Is it possible that the integrated pump on the motor has somehow failed? If I need to replace the motor what pump assembly do you recommend?
    Thanks
    Kurt

    Very good, detailed video. My coach is 7 months old and has the old style pumps, but they are working(I checked voltage on both and isolated #1 and can feel/hear it running. Lights are sll green). I am not getting heat in zone 1. Zone 2 works fine. The line from Aquahot to check valve is hot, but between check valve and pump remains cool. From the pump 1 to zone 1 is cool also. Is it possible to have a faulty check valve on a new coach? Or should I be looking elsewhere for the problem? I'd rather DIY than drive it to get service. Cold and snowing here. Thanks!

    • @MyRVWorks

      You can run a jumper wire from the upper right terminal JP3 to that pump directly to find out if it's coming from the control board or if it's the wiring.

    I have a 400D. Just had pump one (stir pump) replaced, and because both pumps were the obsolete pumps, had the number 2 replaced as preventative maintenance, as well as annual service. My issue is that the #1 pump stays on continuously even when power is removed, thermostat off, switches off.... I thought this could be a faulty basement thermostat issue, as I understand, that controls the stir pump zone 2 for regulating temperature in the plumbing and basement area. I called the Tech that replaced the pumps, and he believes that may be the issue. Meanwhile, I have disconnected the #1 pump to keep it from burning out the pump. I realize your assessment will based on what I have given you.....in your opinion, (which I will/would not hold against you) and is for just your valued opinion. I have heat in zone 1 with burner, and hot water, with just electric, however, I am not sure if the zone 2 will work as advertised for the basement, no heat.
    I am an avid follower and view your videos as a reference.....excellent...
    Thanks for any input
    Ernie

    • @MyRVWorks
      @MyRVWorks  2 года назад

      It would be good to know, when that pump is running, is there a green status light on the control board? That is to say does a control board want that pump on? If the control board wants the pump on then you'll need to look at the thermostat input on the JP1 connector that controls that zone. You can manipulate this by connecting and disconnecting the wires to different zones. Keep in mind that the 'stir' pump runs when the Zone is not calling for heat. That is to say there's always a circulation through the heat exchanger, if the zone is calling for heat then the circulation is going through the zones. If the zone is not calling for heat then the circulation is done with his stir pump.

    Excellent video. I'm on the road and have Zone 2 that stopped working. Don't have the tools or equipment to fix it myself, but found a local tech who has worked on Aqua Hot previously. From your video, I can now go through the process with him and hopefully it will be as easy as you make it seem on the video. One question, is it obvious on the mounting plates, which side is the "tail" to know how to orient the plate?

    • @MyRVWorks
      @MyRVWorks  5 лет назад

      Hi Kenneth,
      Thanks for the kind comment. Hope your tech gets if working for you. Regarding the 'tail', it should be obvious, if it is turned inboard there is not enough room for the hoses so outboard really is the only way.

    Darren, when watching the video I noticed that the antifreeze looked like automotive antifreeze. My understanding is you should use a non-toxic, I forgot the kind of antifreeze it is, but because the domestic hot water runs through the boiler, cross contamination could happen. If this is not the correct, please advise, Thanks, Enjoy all your videos and have learn a lot.

    • @MyRVWorks
      @MyRVWorks  5 лет назад

      Boiler antifreeze is what is to be used in these systems. It does come in two colors that I'm aware of, reddish-pink, and like a fluorescent orange. I never mix the two but I have worked on the systems with each. When I went through Aqua Hot factory certification training they demonstrated both types.

    • @jasontemplin8621
