    Sunvox is really cool but mostly goes under the radars, I glad to see you mentioning it.

      I agree…I think a lot of people are intimidated by this wonderful app ☺️ Thanks for watching 👍🏻

    Quick Sunvox cabling trick…
    You can press/hold your first module and tap on the receiving module while the first is selected to patch the cables.

      @@Fretless33Bass another cool tip…
      You can save chains of effects with all of your module settings for the individual modules, then load your SunVox file inside a metamodule in future sessions. That would allow you to chain multiple chains of effects and keep the settings for all of the modules preset up as you need them. The metamodule also allows you select which controls are displayed for your effect modules that are inside the metamodule. In other words, you don’t have to deep dive into the chain to change specific settings for each module… it can all be on one control panel

      @@Fretless33Bass I've been drawn to Sunvox since its inception, over the years purchased it for iOS, and of course downloaded the free versions for the Mac,Windows, Linux. At the same time played around with (like an amateur with G.A.S) a bit of Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Reaper...like them all for different reasons. With Sunvox I'd not gone as deep with it until recently. Previously felt that its sonics ended up leaning too chip-tune-y, a genre I enjoy, but not exclusively. Something about the 2.0+ release has crossed some barrier where the toy vibe has faded. Sorry to TMI on you, but I created a lot of synth type music in the 90s with the Yamaha XG daughterboard on an AWE32, with Cakewalk 3.1 (or something like that version). Like I'd mentioned I'm not quite gifted with DAW tech and all these new products are amazingly powerful, I get it, but the feature creep for me can be overwhelming, and uninspiring. I often start something then end up going full A.D.D. with all the DAW options and move on to something else.
      This is where Sunvox is shining for me lately. Sunvox is giving out that simplicity inspiration vibe of the by-gone days, its design has nailed that building blocks design structure so that the feature creep is (mostly)kept at bay. Yes I can overwhelm myself with it when I try but it's much easier to reel it in and keep it simple. So my project focus now: take the better of my old XG midis, sample the relevant patches, use Sunvox to make multi-instruments and emulate the XG effects (hopefully). It'll be a good learning experience if nothing else.

    I've only used SunVox infrequently on a laptop, but do seem to recall being able to select and drag (in the directions needed) the 'wires' from one module to another without needing to use the upper-right connection symbol.
    Under another recent SunVox video, I just asked if SunVox can place (and maybe move/animate) its instruments in '3D immersive audio/binaural positions/space', along the lines/ideas of plugins like DearVR Micro, Panagement or Anaglyph (or better), or if it us just sort of 'flat stereo with reverb/echo'.

    • @Fretless33Bass
      @Fretless33Bass  2 года назад

      I don’t think that connection feature is available in the iPhone version 🫤

      @@Fretless33Bass Perhaps not. In any case, SunVox is pretty briliant work, as your demo here helps underscore. So thanks.
      I just picked up an acoustic electric guitar and am going to try to learn how to play it and maybe make learning it more fun by plugging it into SunVox as you have.

      The best thing about SunVox is the usability and efficiency of its user interface! Most DAWs and VSTs try to immitate real gear with its knobs, buttons and dials and when it is turned into virtual stuff on a screen with touch control or a mouse the end result is always terrible. The same goes for the gimmicky hanging wire connections and even full blown animated JPEG images of real instruments which not only waste valuable screen space and give nothing in return but create inconsistent user interaction patterns and slow you down. But SunVox has nothing of the sort, everything here is as simplified and unified as possible and the trait of it starts to boost your productivity even after first 5 minutes of use and after that the effect only keepson increasing.

      Not sure what gear you’re using but all of the audio settings are set to “auto” you could try increasing the buffer size and see what setting helps?

      @@Fretless33Bass and then to mention that you havent even gotten into the actual tracker or sequencer part, or the fact that its been written in its own language and runs on allmost anything (and I mean anything, ive seen it run on a nokia ngage, a plamOS device, windows, personally I have it running on a headless raspberry pi connected to a midi keyboard and on my phone offcourse.)
