I tried anti flicker and resistors same result . I purchased the i car pro and j scan app and it work perfectly . Thankyou so much for this valuable information !
THANK YOU I had absolutely no idea this was even an option. When I installed my plug and play led headlights from autozone, they would both come on together right away when I would start my car. After I would drive through a well lit part of town my auto lights would turn off resulting in one headlight off and the other headlight still on. Due to the low current of these led headlights, it throws off the auto light sensor system. Making the car think both lights are still off/on when needed.
Thanks for the video. I have a 2009 grand cherokee that the led lights stay on dimly for a minute after turning the vehicle off. Will this setting help with this issue?
Hi Alex, it sounds to me like you might just need a pair of resistors to fix this issue. That would be the cheapest and quickest option to test out before embarking on this effort, which is primarily designed to correct flickering while the vehicle is on.
I am impressed with your knowledge. Many thanks for your video it added lots of information to me. I have an issue with my durango 2015 that it flashes for 3 times then it is turned off. Is it the same settings i should adjust or there is other settings to be modified?
Thanks for your kind words and for watching, Ayman! The setting described in the video should address most flickering issues. If your lights are flashing (or dimming and becoming bright again), and the setting I demonstrated doesn’t solve the issue, I would think that there may be a voltage issue or low quality LED bulbs. I would check the following, in order: 1. Enable the HID setting using forscan 2. Test light function with ignition on and in accessory position. 3. If the lights stay on for a certain period of time before clicking off (with no issues leading up to the flashing/turning off) it could be poor heat dissipation. LED bulbs really require fans as opposed to passive cooling found on many cheaper bulbs. 4. Consider adding resistors or (if not already installed) to try and alleviate potential power issues. What brand lights are you using? I find that brands such as Diode Dynamics (made in America) are of high quality. Did your vehicle come with factory HID bulbs, or Halogen? Diode Dynamics makes a hi/low beam bulb that fits your vehicle, and you can add an anti-flicker module. Good luck!

Hi Michael, You could try to use the JScan app with your car to enable the HID lights function as is demonstrated in the video to see if the car will recognize the change in power draw required and stop flickering. Otherwise, I would say I generally recommend purchasing a high-quality product (which of course will cost you) and, if needed, resistors, to ensure you’re getting the best chance to eliminate flickering or other similar issues. I typically recommend Diode Dynamics, GTR Lighting, or Morimoto if they have a product that works for your car. LasFit is also a decent product but would not be my top choice.

I could use your help I have a 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn I purchased 250watt low beam aftermarket LED bulbs they come on and go off they don't flicker can u help
Hi Mike, it sounds to me like your truck thinks your bulbs are out since they draw significantly less power than traditional halogen bulbs. I’d suggest CANBUS bulbs or a CANBUS adapter which will trick the vehicle into thinking the bulbs are drawing the correct amount of power. Most high quality bulbs have this technology built in, but some do require dedicated adapters. What brand bulbs did you buy? I’d check out Diode Dynamics to see if they have anything that fits your needs.
My 2015 is doing the same. I brought the Xentic HID kite, and it flicker then shuts off. I did some research and found out you have to buy a separate relay kite, and that should solve the problem.

What’s the difference between the icar pro WiFi and the icar pro Bluetooth? It’s also my understanding that I won’t need the cables since I’m going do this for my 2016 jeep compass. I can directly plug this in without the by pass.
The only notable difference is in the way your phone connects to the adapter, either over WiFi, or over Bluetooth. Bluetooth has been a stronger, more reliable connection in my experience, but for what will hopefully be limited usage, I’d pick the one that is least expensive! Based on some brief research, I’d agree that you should be able to connect without the gateway cables In your model year!
@@completepete does that mean one would always have to be connected to wifi for the lights to be able to stay on and not flicker? The device itself emits a wireless network for your phone to connect to when in use - it doesn’t connect to your home’s WiFi, or any other WiFi you might connect to throughout the course of your day. Once you make the setting changes and they are written to the vehicle’s computer, there is no need for the device to remain connected, or for it to ever be connected again in the future unless you’re using it to do something different

Hi Christopher! The security gateway module was incorporated in 2018+ Chrysler vehicles, so it is unlikely that your Jeep has one. You should be able to connect directly to the OBD2 port without needing the bypass cable. Thanks for watching!
Christopher, your mileage may vary with this solution. I have not personally tested it on a different model year, but the function should work similarly. If that does not work, I would return the parts and pursue anti-flicker modules (if you haven’t already).

I understand the frustration about how difficult it is to access the bulbs. If you choose to pursue this method, I’d recommend leaving the bulbs out of the headlight assembly until you’re satisfied the flickering isn’t happening and they are functioning as you like
The 2014 Jeep Patriot does appear to be a supported vehicle. This method may work for you, or you may find that some combination of resistors and software changes are necessary. Good luck!
Your vehicle appears to be supported by the JScan app, so, you should be able to attempt the same fix that is demonstrated in the video. You may find that your vehicle requires resistors as mentioned above.
Let’s be clear: Lasfit only includes dust covers on their PRO line. They DO NOT include them for any other product unless maybe you purchase it separately which I doubt that would. I purchased their LA Plus an didn’t have covers included.
The JScan application supports the 2005 Grand Cherokee, however, without having tested this on a 2005 model myself, I can’t guarantee it will work. If you purchase the components described in the video from Amazon, you can always return them if you find that it doesn’t work.
Thanks for watching! The app (JScan) used in this video doesn’t support Saab, but there may be others like it that do. I would start with using a product with inline resistors, or adding an anti flicker module to your existing setup if you haven’t already. The OBD2 adapter may work for you, but checking the compatibility list for whatever you purchase is recommended.
Thanks for watching! Does your vehicle have factory LED headlights? If so, is it the bulbs that came with the car that are flickering, or did you replace them? If the vehicle is still in its stock form, I would say this sounds like a problem with the vehicle’s computer and is likely a recall (or future recall). I’m not aware of any similar software or tool that is non-Honda OEM that could be used for this purpose. If you’re working with stock halogen bulbs that you’ve upgraded, I’d suggest ensuring you have purchased good quality, made in USA LED’s and, if those still present a problem, try installing resistors in-line. Good luck!
@@completepete Appreciate your time with your reply. Yes, they're factory headlights and bulbs. I've noticed this issue happening after starting the car more than twice during the day. I'll be bringing my vehicle to the dealership since I got warranty. Thank you for your time!

Hi Ron, If you own a vehicle that doesn’t require the bypass cable, connect the wireless OBD2 adapter directly to your vehicles OBD2 port to use this software. Resistors or CanBus adapters may be helpful for your application - I typically recommend speaking with the manufacturer of your bulbs. If a reputable company, they can likely recommend a resistor that will work in-line with their bulb, as opposed to buying something on Amazon. The process of using the JScan software is relatively simple, and is mostly point and click. Using the wireless ODB2 adapter, JScan will also show you the DTCs/trouble codes associated with each vehicle module, if there are any. Good luck!
@Complete Pete I bought some Bevinsee modules and the flickering issue has stopped. Modules for both headlights and highbeams. Fog lamps never flickered.
@zevozkifrankooto7338 I bought the resistor modules they work fine for me. Just make sure your lenses are not cracked and let moisture get to the LED Light. Moisture will ruin them, cause them to flicker or go out.
Does the 2014 cherokee "kl" use the same adapter? I got the vlink and downloaded the jscan thinking that's all I need to turn on the led headlight but it says I don't have a license
Hi there! Thanks for watching, and for your question. You’ll need to purchase a license for JScan by opening the app, clicking the settings wheel, and choosing “Manage Licenses and Account” to purchase
Thanks, I figured that out but then when I enabled "xenon' lights, I guess the 2014 is different, a bunch of check engine lights came on, I think I need something called a pwm module ??
Hi Arturo - you could give this program a try, as it does appear to support your vehicle, to see if it would correct the flickering issue. You may also consider another brand that may be of better quality, but I would try the software fix first.
The app supports that model and year, so it should be possible to perform the same steps. Having never done so personally, I can’t say for sure it if will be successful. If you choose to pursue this route, you do not need the security gateway cable since the gateway module wasn’t introduced until 2018.

My question is, what do I need to do this with my 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss. I have the Lasfit lights installed for by my high and low beams and my low beams will turn on just fine but then will turn off and then back on. Sometimes only one comes back on. Lasfit sent me adapters to possible help with the issue but the way they want me to install them is kind of shady. If I can do it through adaptations that would be a big help. However, I do not know which app would work.
Thanks for watching RCWing! To my knowledge, there is not a trusted, publicly available application for Chevy that serves the same purpose as JScan for CDJR or ForScan for Ford. To help troubleshoot this further, could you provide some additional details including: (1) Does your vehicle have halogen or HID bulbs from the factory, (2) How long are the low beams running before they turn off/turn back on sporadically, (3) when the low beams turn back on (one, or both), is there a certain period of time until they will turn back on, and (4) What method is LasFit asking you to use to install their adapters? I would imagine that CANBUS/AntiFlicker adapters are needed in your situation, but I'd like to work through some of the questions I posed above to help identify any other solutions.
@@completepete lasfit sent me two canbus' to install. However, the way they want me to install them is by cutting the dust cap and using a crap ton of electrical tape to secure everything. I'm an aircraft electrician by trade and the fix they wanted me to try is not something I would do on an aircraft.

@@completepeteyes, my truck came with halogen light bulbs. It's usually with the first 60 seconds of driving they will either both turn off and both come on, one turn off and come back on, or one turn off and not come back on. If both or one dosen't come back on I just flip the light switch from auto to on and it usually fixes the issue.
Did your purchase include LasFit’s dust covers with the integrated fan, or are they suggesting you cut into the stock rubber dust cover? I’d be curious to see, through a temporary install, if the canbus adapters solve the issue - you could probably design a more efficient/clean way to add them into the loop than what the company is suggesting if that seems to solve your problem, or, perhaps another manufacturer makes bulbs with integrated canbus. If I were troubleshooting, I’d remove the dust cover and hook up one of the canbus adapters (fastened with zip ties or tape temporarily) and assess the result. Does your truck have daytime running lights? Often, DRLs run at a lower intensity which can produce odd interactions with aftermarket LED bulbs. Does the problem occur if you turn the lighting dial to “on” before the bulbs turn off the first time? I’m wondering if the “auto” feature is somehow playing a role.
Yes, this process should be quite similar for your vehicle. The bulbs may react different or end up requiring resistors / canbus adapters as well. Good luck!

The setting described in the video should address most flickering issues. Mine flicker when the engine is running but not when the engine is off and lights are on
Did you figure it out?
Hi Donovan and Victor. This was also the case with the vehicle in the video. Making the changes described in the video corrected this problem!
What if the led lights settings does not appear in the app?
Jose - What is the year, make and model of your vehicle? I’ll take a look and see if I can answer this for you.
@@completepete its a Dodge Avenger 2013 SE
Let’s be clear: Lasfit only includes dust covers on their PRO line.
They DO NOT include them for any other product unless maybe you purchase it separately which I doubt that would. I purchased their LA Plus an didn’t have covers included.
Does this work for 2005 grand cherokee laredo
The JScan application supports the 2005 Grand Cherokee, however, without having tested this on a 2005 model myself, I can’t guarantee it will work. If you purchase the components described in the video from Amazon, you can always return them if you find that it doesn’t work.
Will this work for a Saab with LEDs? They flicker randomly when the car is off.
Hey Pete I’m just curious is there a app that works for Chrysler Pt Crusiers? Please let me know, thank you!!!
Thanks for watching! I’m unaware of any applications that support the PT Cruiser at this time, but will let you know if I come across something.
Will this work on my 2023 Civic Si? My headlights flicker during the day while the lever rests on AUTO.
I have a 2007 Jeep Commander with the flicker issue.
If the cable is not needed, does the scanner plug into the computer port, that people check for problem codes?
I've noticed on some adds for the resistor modules, they list, (if you slide through the pictures-at end prod. Pics) the vehicles & years, that the mods. don't work on.
I haven't done this before, but looks like programming a decoder on a model train.
Luckily I have a son that may be able to help?
Sure hope it works, so I don't have to turn around and buy the resistor s. Is this wifi obd2 scanner also used to find problem codes?
Hi Ron,
If you own a vehicle that doesn’t require the bypass cable, connect the wireless OBD2 adapter directly to your vehicles OBD2 port to use this software.
Good luck!
@@completepete Thank you, Pete.
@Complete Pete I bought some Bevinsee modules and the flickering issue has stopped. Modules for both headlights and highbeams.
Fog lamps never flickered.
Hi, I have liberty kk 2009. I installed Novsight led bulb, no error or nothing, only flickering. Will this method fix my issue?
@123gaberam have you tried in-line resistors and undoing the changes you made in the app? I’d try that before anything else to see if they work.
Does this method not work on jeep cherokee then??
No it doesn't, i have to use resistors @angelgaming4208
I have a 2011 Dodge Caliber with similar LEDs and but they turn off and on randomly every couple mins with slight flickering.
Hi Arturo - you could give this program a try, as it does appear to support your vehicle, to see if it would correct the flickering issue. You may also consider another brand that may be of better quality, but I would try the software fix first.
@@completepete I fixed it. Just got a canbus adapter. But this video helped. Thanks
Will this work on a 2008 jeep commander?

@@completepeteI apologize for the late response but I never saw a notification saying anyone responded to my comment. I appreciate you sending a message.
I’m wondering if the “auto” feature is somehow playing a role.
is this the same process for a 2021 charger?
Yes, this process should be quite similar for your vehicle. The bulbs may react different or end up requiring resistors / canbus adapters as well. Good luck!
Wow great job thanks you very much
Thank you Jorge. Hope the video was helpful!
What happened with the Kibler build?????
Anthony.. great timing. I just got done with the next segment and hope to get it posted over the weekend.
Come on Pete you’re not finished with the rifle yet?? I finished my SMR IN 2 weeks. I have a Colonial rifle and 54 caliber coming next week
Hey Anthony.. you are so right! I have more hobbies than I know what to do with. I’m planning to get going on the rifle a bit more
@@completepete you have to finish it before it gets nice out! I took the SMR out today, love that Rifle! I to have a bunch of hobbies that the wife says is way to much. I should be getting the Colonial in a week or so. Can’t wait to start it. If you need any help let me know.
Glad you had a great day of shooting! I’ll use it as inspiration for my project..and I will 100% reach out with questions.
Oh my god, I will stick to the good old bulb !!!
Wow, found my sauldering material and that's the only thing that changed that! All parts! Maybe that's good, would be nice to travel less
My led headlight are only half illuminated half the other half of it turns on and slowly dims
What brand are your LED bulbs? If the bulbs aren’t fully illuminating it’s likely that there is an issue with the LED’s themselves / a quality control problem.
@@completepeteI have a similar issue with mine on my charger, mine are auxito brand, they don’t l necessarily flicker but mainly dim every now and then
Personally, I'd want the Sylvania bulbs made in Hungary or Germany.
Thanks for your comment Bob! I agree that Sylvania is a reputable brand and of great quality. For those who want LED conversions, Sylvania does not offer such a bulb. In fact, 2021 Jeeps are not even listed a choice on their website.
Thanks for watching!
If I can't legally have good window tint you shouldn't have your dumbass headlights that causes accidents.
Shut the hell up and cook dinner
Get prescription glasses and then tell your dr you need window tint simple as that, then you can go pretty dark!! Or better yet the loophole of registering a vehicle as a limo/choffer!!! Point be maid if you want dark tint do it, but have a actual excuse for “needing it”
What would I need for a 2016 jeep compass? Bought some leds from Amazon and they flicker. What would I need
Thanks for watching! A number of folks have found that CanBus Anti-Flicker modules are helpful to prevent this issue, however, if the bulbs are of good quality, the method described in this video to change the configuration of your vehicle’s computer may be successful. In your case, I would purchase a good anti-flicker module and see if installing that in-line with your bulbs stops the problem. If that doesn’t work, move on to the method I describe in this video. Largely, everything you need can be obtained from Amazon and returned if you find it doesn’t work, with the exception of the JScan license which you can’t get a refund for.
@@completepetethank you I appreciate it. I’ll try it out
Does this work for the fog lights on a 2015 summit?
Hi Bruno, thanks for watching! If your fog lights are flickering, this fix likely won’t work for you, as it’s designed to correct the main driving lights flickering. You’d likely be best off investing in resistors to solve your problem.
