Great shave Heiko! You have the best version of the razor. Yours is a 1966 version, and is the higher quality, heavier, and with more metal than the razors of this type that came after. The parent company, Eversharp , had a identical version that year, but in charcoal grey with the Eversharp eagle logo on the bottom. The razor wasn't called a Krona until the cheaper plastic knob version came out in 1967. They give an amazing shave with a Feather. be sure and try it! Also the head geometry is very much like modern razors, where it sets the shaving angle for you.

It did work well, thanks for the historical info. I wish I would know more.

Bic seems to be a good blade for me. I have some Schick blades that I bought in Guatemala in 1989 when I was traveling there. I was using a Merkur travel razor and found the blades there when I ran out. I bought too many and also switched back to cartridge razors when I returned from the trip, so I still have a package or two. I used one recently and I think I will stay with my Gillette Platinum or Wilkinson Sword blades.

What you want to know about canned shaving foam is that you can squirt some into a bowl, and add a bit of water, and mix. Then when you shave a pass or two, you may find this lather to be more wet and give better lubrication.

I'm bidding on a Krona right now because of your video. No pressure though, I've read great reviews about this razor as well. Seems like the perfect everyday razor. Keep up the vids, they're great! 👍

@@Heiko-shaves so I did win the Krona and after 2 shaves I can honestly say it's the most comfortable shave I've ever had! I really felt like I could move quickly with no fear of the Trig blade I used. ATG was no problem. Very close and smooth with zero irritation and no cuts or weepers. Yay! I didn't even feel any sting from the alum block! I'd call that the perfect shave! 😊

Nice shave Heiko. I will have to try some Taylor of Old Bond Street some time. You should try a Simpson Synthetic T3 brush. I think that would be perfect for you. Have a great week. 👍

Omega has some nice boar knots that get nice and soft with no loss of hair. Plus they are budget friendly.

Excellent blade choice. Very Sharp! Nice old razor too. Have you tried a thin coat of Cremo for pre-shave? Works pretty good for me.

I found a silver baby spoon in the antique store for $3. It works great.

There was an old saying back in those days that Schicks were Sharper. I don't remember that being true but we always used Gillette. Schick took a back seat through the years. They didn't have the Gillette foothold.

@richarde62 cremo is the best Preshave I’ve tried. A tiny amount goes very far & it’s super slick. My buddy actually adds some to his shaving cream in the bowl & mixes it in.

I am going to try mixing Barbasol and Cremo.

Let me know how that goes.

It adds slippery to the Foam, or adds body to the Cremo. If you like those products maybe try it, but I prefer shave soap.
