nope Govt provide stipend for 24 months and it comes in your account. No one ask money for attendance.

I get the stripen for 1 year now I want to dropout from this course and want to join with the same gate score 2022 in iit kgp in another department . So my qn is if I enroll in iit kgp in another department, shall I get the stripen again for 2 years or they provide only 1 year as I already get the stripen for 1 year in different course in iit kgp?

And comming to wether u have to return stipend or not , it depends on the institute .. Check for ur institute policy
