    That’s terrible I make way more than that with a small company solely based off my experience..i have no masters and I’m just applying to programs this week..they should be ashamed of themselves

    MPH is underrated in the USA.
    50K is less than what new RN with associate degree makes!

      I do not agree with you. I actually am an RN and am happy with my work as well. My point was that it should be fair to have people with master in public health make better.

      It depends on the area . I make twice that in my area and I have an MPH. And moving forward re-entering the medical field to finish my entry msn I know I will make more . But a lot of this depends on your type of MpH(concentration) and practically. As well as scientific research I have a few studies that are published under my belt so that bumps me up once again .

    I'm planning to take MPH course in UK and then relocating to US.. do you think whether it's hard to find a mph job in US when you are in UK.
    Looking forward to hear from you.

    I'd like to ask from your point of view as a public health Professional, between choosing a MHA and MPH, which has a better career prospect(in terms of good job placement and progression) also, a MPH graduate, can you work as a healthcare coordinator in a medical centre?

    • @acceleratingyourpurposewit3835
      @acceleratingyourpurposewit3835  3 года назад +9

      Hey Barbara! I recommend enrolling in a degree program that offers both an MHA and MPH in the same track. I studied Health Policy and Management that had an MPH track and an MHA track. My first year, I attended many of the same classes as my MHA counterparts. Once you have a Master's degree, you are well-positioned to pivot amongst many job placements. Although I have an MPH, I work in a health system where my peers hold MHA degrees. So yes, you can work as a health coordinator in a medical centre with an MPH. After obtaining your degree, focus on building skills that can transfer into different work settings. You won't be pigeonholed.

    How are you liking the CDC so far? My father works in HIV section at corporate square and he seems to be doing very well after working there for about 10 years. I'm about to start the MPH program at GSU and im super excited!

      Good morning Jorge! I've since left CDC. My Master's program was centered on health care management and policy and I am now in a role where I sit at the intersection of health care and public health. My experience at CDC was great however! I left with a wide array of skills, and a diverse network of colleagues. Government bureaucracy was the worst part but all in all, a great career experience.

      To our knowledge, you should be qualified to apply for federal jobs starting at the GS-11 level with a doctoral degree and little to no experience. When completing your USA Jobs application using the resume builder, put in EVERY SINGLE THING you've done.
