Omg! The girl randomly singing 🍪 time just popped up in my mind the other day and I just HAD to look this up! I'm so glad I found this! It was one of my favorite movies as a kid! She was blowing!😍🎤
My co-workers and I sing this song all the time. Rosa cracks me up with the maracas. I can't believe that is Carla Gugino. Chica Barnfell! What a lovely child.
She went on star in several successful sitcoms and films. Shes now a mom and grandma her children are in the industry and her husband directs and she still sings
That's how itbwas back then until it became a federal offense to sell cigarettes to minors!😂😂😂 I remember when you could still smoke in theaters!😂😂😂 We kids would go inbthe balcony after scrounging the butts and try to have a go at smoking them while not burning our fingers! Then we'd eat a pack of mints to hide the smell. Back then everyone smellt of smoke!!!
My aunt was a HUGE Shelly Long fan and she only needed to show me this one once and I been hooked ever since lol…I have to find it so I can watch it with my daughter …she’ll definitely appreciate this part, but my favorite scene is when they get pulled over by that cop and Jasmine low key went off on him lol
I agree, that girl playing Jasmine can definitely belt it out. She sounds awesome. I love this movie and this scene. You can tell they must have had a blast filming this part, with all the singing and dancing. I used to wish I was one of those kids, lol.
@tracienotstacie7577 There MANY Black and Brown actors and singers during this period that got no love from mostly white producers! I was watching a documentary on casting in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Telemondo, the Mexican channel, knowingly discriminated against darker yet more talented children of mixed race and African Hispanics, despite these kids representing the majority of Spanish speaking people! These poor babies would go on auditions only to be used as background/backup with only token representation while often less talented, but good-looking white kids STRUGGLED to do simple numbers. Another good example of this is the cast of Facts of Life. The actor who played Blaire has the least acting skills compared to her "regular looking aka ugly" castmates of Tootie (Fields), Natalie (Cohen), and Jo (Keaton) who were all able to use their talents to have long careers. Meanwhile, Blaire, aka Lisa Weachal, basically became a Christian trad wife in real life, spouting church doctrine. It was really sad back then as compared to today of how POC and plaim girls were treated! That's why people love the movie so much: it showcased a variety of girls of different body types and backgrounds! No one was teased for being the daughter of a dictator or the child who advocated for her boxing dad, who was pulled aside during a traffic stop! It was all love with a bit of snarkiness!🤣🤣🤣
I just watched this movie on Prime or somewhere...what a hoot!😂 I can't believe it's so old! This song is awesomely catchy and she's really bringing it! Ty for uploading!
It’s that time, once again; Girl Scout Cookie season! Every time I hear about or see the Girl Scouts selling their cookies, I always think of this scene in the movie and have to see it 🍪
omg!!! it's my favorite movie!! i live in japan and i didn't know what girl scout was at that time... i even learnt american culture from this movie. thanks for up loading:>
Wow I remember my sister loved this part in this movie.. She use to get me so mad when she'd sing it and ruin the entire movie for me. Still though I love it because it bring back good memories. I want the 90's back!
Thanks, I was certian that is what they said. I think it was funny how they didn't get any takers to buy cookies, until , they mentioned that they accepted credit cards. Even the low calorie thing didn't get a reaction. As soon as credit cards were mentioned, then they started selling.
Y'all don't know how long I've been looking for this movie, particularly this scene. I didn't remember the name of it, but I know it was on Disney Channel, and this scene was always stuck in my head!
Whatever happened to the footage where Velda broke her ankle? Lonely Mountain Men? That was the best part of the film. Has it been deleted? Might someone know where it may be? Anyone? Thanks!
watching this as my best friend is in bed from her baby's cookie booth for the night. cookie hustle so real!!! we so need a TROOP BEVERLY HILLS movie night!
Yes! Did you used to watch this when it came on Zoog Disney all the time? And Disney would play like 2 movies a night and have a DCOM come out every month.
I love this. The girls pledged to sell 2,000 boxes for a troop of eight or 240 boxes per girl. I think this was the average per scout when this movie came out. What is really interesting is that my troop sold 1,000 cookies per girl so we, 15 girls could all go to summer camp. It took us three months, five professional sports games and ten shopping centers!!!! What a time we had back then! When we went to camp, we each made about ten badges!
Every time I see the Girl Scouts selling cookies at various places around town, I always mention this movie to them, though usually encouraging them to wait until they're about twelve to see it due to the slight amount of profanity, but until then, wish them all the best in their goals so they could enjoy a camp experience. This movie is still one of the funniest and cutest of the 80s. Shelley Long was so funny and adorable, so perfect for the role. ❤
@KeiFox Shelly is from my hometown and is really well-known here. When the movie came out, she had a screening, and people came out in support. Whoa to the mothers of the Brownies who were very religious and didn't let their young children go! 🤣🤣🤣 Poor babies, but when it came out on VHS, most Brownies saw it at home with a sitter or older sibling! So I get it! A friend of mine who was a refugee even sent her a fan letter with a "how to stop a hostile takeover badge" because she was so happy to be in the US! Shelly sent a thank you card! That's how nice she is!
Does anyone know what the girls say when they are set up in front of the Jane Fonda's workout place? I bought this movie yesterday, and have been trying to figure it out for awhile. I thought it was "and we accept credit cards," anyone is free to correct me.
I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a kid I even had a cousin b**** about how I was always watching that movie whenever I came over to her house. It inspired me to move all the way across the u.s. to go to Los Angeles. I ended up moving to Los Angeles later
OMFGG I FOUND ITTTTT. Every time I try to explain this movie to friends they never know wtf I’m talking about! How can you forget cookie time?! loll
Right!!!
Thought it was just me lol
Never forget ✊🏼

This came on last night!!! I remember each & every girl's name. But this part was my fave... That Tina Turner wig KILLS me! #Classic movie ;)
I loved all the outfits they designed for Shelley Long, but this one was the best so far with that hat with the pheasant feathers.
The Black girl was going off!
+radiofootage Why she gotta be Black? And Black is not a race. It is a color. It is a social construct.
Wysteria InBloom BLack is not a place of origin on the World Globe
Sharjjahn Aziz Why are you so racist?
Because she is black and she was going off!
@@cocoatea56 LMAO. Yes & yes!!
One of the best guilty pleasure movies.
It’s the Tina wig for me and I’m
Here for it

Tasha Scott is a talented. She should have continued in her acting or singing career.
LifeIsNotorious she did say the acting business was too stressful to her
She’s still making music!! Look her up
She went on star in several successful sitcoms and films. Shes now a mom and grandma her children are in the industry and her husband directs and she still sings
and the girl backing her became the giant music star - Jenny Lewis
She was on the show "The Parenthood "
Glad to see this on RUclips. I'm in this scene on the back row when they show the crowd.
the girls carrying the cookies on cigarette trays and yelling "Cigars, Cigarettes, Cookies" was adorable
That's how itbwas back then until it became a federal offense to sell cigarettes to minors!😂😂😂 I remember when you could still smoke in theaters!😂😂😂 We kids would go inbthe balcony after scrounging the butts and try to have a go at smoking them while not burning our fingers! Watching this with my daughter and eating Girl Scout cookies right now.
One of my favorite movies ever!!!!
"Shake the man's hand daddy, and let's get on our way. " CLASSIC
Love Love Love this movie!
I still sing the "Cookie Time" song whenever it comes on.lol
I agree, that girl playing Jasmine can definitely belt it out. She sounds awesome. I love this movie and this scene. You can tell they must have had a blast filming this part, with all the singing and dancing. I used to wish I was one of those kids, lol.

Also at the black tie event
OMG good ear hahaha!
A lot of clever subtleties in this movie. Fantastic script.
Tasha Scott (Jasmine) was so slept on during the 80s and 90s!
Tasha Scott can sing and still can

28 years later this is so priceless. You have to laugh at how serious about selling cookies they were. They wrote a song about it.
I remember them playing this on Disney channel in the mid 90s and I remember the song more the anything!
I looove this movie! I just realized today that Hannah is Jenny Lewis the singer lol
This was her debut film.
i love this movie, no matter how cheesy or old-school!
"would you like some cookies?"
"ohh yes!"
"you have to buy them...."

I like Shelly Long's part in the song and how she always has to crouch down to sing it. LOL
IKR
She’s a gift
I just watched this movie on Prime or somewhere...what a hoot!😂 I can't believe it's so old! This song is awesomely catchy and she's really bringing it! Ty for uploading!
This brings back so many memories. My sister and I would rewind this part till we knee the dance by heart 😂
The girl singing lead >
Tasha Scott!
I never noticed the violin music at the fashion show is a watered down version of the cookie time song. hahah excellent.
"We need your dough, so don't you pause"...."we're the Wilderness Girls and we're a real good cause".
LOL! Tiny Tina looks cool and sings great!

Young kids in the 80s snd 90s were not fat, they used their imaginations to have fun, worked hard, and now have an actual childhood to look back on.
I love they had the fashion show and gala versions of Cookie Time
I loved this movie!!
Y'all don't know how long I've been looking for this movie, particularly this scene. I didn't remember the name of it, but I know it was on Disney Channel, and this scene was always stuck in my head!

If this movie was set in today's time, who would she be looking like? Tina Turner just screams 80s. Would she be dressed up like Lady Gaga?
