Great reaction. Taylor wrote this song about her masters situation where scott brochetta sold her music without telling her. She trusted him as family but he betrayed her.
It may be partly inspired by that, but it can also be perfectly interpreted in another way. That is to say, it is a little tiring that they relate everything to her life, even more so when she said that FOLKLORE and EVERMORE are fictitious.
@@musichasnolanguagebarrier3648 He literally said that FOLKLORE is fiction, but it is also possible that he took some things from his life to finish putting together the compositions and I said so. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I don't like it when Swifties are always looking for Taylor's exes in everything, instead of just making the song their own thing. I know it can be fun for them and I don't want to judge, but I don't know to what extent they are aware that constantly relating her life to her music detracts from the seriousness and merit that she deserves in the eyes of the casual public as the talented writer that she is. At least that's what I feel.
@@ADIAZ-sy9vw It's very clear this is about the situation about her masters. She speaks obliquely to it in the Long Pond recording pre-conversation, but 'my stolen lullabies' is explicit, along with--I was going to quote more that makes it clear but it was most of the song, lol. I understand the depth of analysis is annoying sometimes, but this is not the song to use as an example. edit to add: I actually think having the song on Folklore which is meant to be fictitious as a whole is kind of a plausible deniability thing for this, if I'm honest.
This is about her record label, she had been with Scott Borchetta since she was a teenager, and the jewels she gave him were "Fearless" went Platinum and Diamond. Her stolen lullabies were her songs he sold out from under her. She wanted to buy her discography, Scott offered her for every new album she put out she would get one old one back, 6 albums, she would have been tied to him for a very long time. She walked.
And now he’s been buried and can’t steal her music in any way. Everyone only listens to “Taylor’s Version” and any true Swiftie will never give Scott and Scooter any respect.
Underrated would be an understatement. The Long Pond sessions especially showcase her extraordinary vocal skills. And her vocals always match the emotions that went into writing the song. In My Tears Ricochet you can actually hear the anger and frustration, but it is very much controlled. But her facial expressions speak volumes!
The best singer/songwriter working today. She is a lyrical genius. Ryan Tedder calls her a savant and I don’t think he is wrong. And when she goes after someone in a song it’s scorched earth….. The best song on folklore is “Epiphany” but that is a hard song to listen to.
Look at the subtly of the song writing increasing over time. Dear John is a sledge hammer, All Too well is a sharp knife and this song is like a scalpel or a Harlequins Kiss.
Totally agree with Jack, It's one of the best songs she's ever written. And the vocals, OMG The best you'll ever hear from Taylor is, when it's just her vocals over 1 instrument i.e., Cornelia St and Death by a thousand cuts live in Paris. Tell me how many artists can captivate 90,000 people with just their voice and 1 instrument.
You should definitely do more Taylor Swift reactions. I recommend doing Folklore and Evermore albums. It's gonna be a life changing experience, believe me.
A comment from a Swiftie said that the Chorus has easter eggs of her 6 stolen albums: She's a Mastermind !!!! 1. …..I didn't have it in myself to go with grace ( Song - State of Grace ) Album: RED 2. …..And you're the hero flying around, saving face ( Song - Superman ) Album: Speak Now 3. …..And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? ( Song - Look What You Made Me Do ) Album: REPUTATION 4. …..Cursing my name, ( Song - The Way I Loved You ) Album: FEARLESS 5. …..wishing I stayed ( Song - All You Had To Do Was Stay ) Album: 1989 6. …..Look at how my tears ricochet ( Song - Teardrops On My Guitar ) Album: Debut - Taylor Swift
This is such a beautiful song. Thank you for giving her the credit she deserves. She does have an awesome team behind her and together they make beautiful music.
So, in theater, good acting is “over- acting”. To be a good film actress, one must be able to not seem TJ be acting and therefore it must feel like they aren’t acting. And, I feel like that’s the kind of nuance Taylor has in her singing- the naturalness. Now, there are her more theatrical performances (see: This is why we can’t have nice things). But, this is more of the nuanced “film acting@ singing.

@@ADIAZ-sy9vwshe said that some of the songs are fictional not all of them. Fictional stuff can still be inspired by real life events

My patreon had explained the meaning behind this song and I thought it was powerful!

The best song (and performance) ever made by Taylor Swift!!.
It's a great song 🎵
I agree. Best performance on her Eras tour. So incredibly moving.
I love the music and lyrics. She is the greatest composer and singer of this day. A slow dance? It certainly is. Beautiful!
Haha, right?!
I think taytay is underrated as a vocalist.
She really does have a beautiful voice!
Taylor isn't the best vocalist ever, she has her flaws but she actually has some pretty good skills, she's very underrated vocalist.
Her voice sounds so pretty as she gotten older❤️

Another powerful track 5
👍
My tears ricochet is my favorite track on folklore.
To me, Folklore (especially the Long Pond sessions live version) is an absolute miracle from beginning to end. The ultimate desert island disc.
She sounds so good…. Love her!!!
Yes! Marvelous singer! ❤️🎤
