Today I’m going to be sharing with you how to make the softest and most delicious rosca de Reyes, I promise you after you make your own you will NEVER want to buy it from the store! I personally don’t like buying roscas because 99% of the time is dry and has no flavor 😭 time and patience is required when making sweet bread and this one is no exception, it’s very easy just time consuming (4 hours max)

WARNING ⚠️
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature
Test your yeast prior to using to prevent from wasting time and ingredients 😉
Tip enjoy every bite with a cup of champurrado or coffee!!! ☺️
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown
Ingredients: 10-12 servings
500 g sifted all purpose flour (about 3 3/4 cup)
10 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp instant yeast
Orange zest from 1 orange
2 eggs and 2 egg yolks
2 tsp orange extract
2 tsp vanilla extract
5.5 oz warm milk(110degrees f) 3/4 cup minus 1 tbsp to get exact measurements or 11 tbsp
6 tbsp unsalted butter at room temp
1/4 tsp salt
Topping:
1/2 cup butter at room temp
3/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Cherries
Chopped pecans and sliced almonds or fry fruits
1 serving of love 💕

I mas sit tonight and had so many compliments. Thank you! I do not know how to send pictures.
Also I had issues making it. So my mother Inlaw melted my room temp butter and I lost half and then for some reason my dough came out liquidy. So I had to add 2 cups more of flour. I started first with just 1-2 tbsp but after adding I’m sure a cup I just threw in a whole cup and it may have been a tiny too much cuz I couldn’t stretch it to make a thin sheet but it still worked for me and it still came out moist and so flavorful.
I am now making 2 more 1/6/23 for my Church por luck on Saturday. So excited. Also I found so dried fruit mango at Albertsons here. And I just cut them into strips to make the lines. So yummy.

I used orange slice candy. It tastes like the sugared peels or the sugared oranges in the Mexican store. They also sell them in a variety of flavors lemon, lime, grape , cherry too. I used green dye on the topping and red and green colored sugar and shredded coconut and cherries. I think when it’s almost done I’m going to use some homemade fig preserves as a glaze. It’s my first and an experiment ha. It’s also taking forever😅

The nut toppings are actually a way better idea! Too bad I already wasted time making my own candied topping before I came across your video! 😭 like you said, the candy topping is hard to find! Hi - question regarding the dough ingredients. I noticed in the video you stated, "adding two eggs and two egg yolks" but the video shows four eggs. Your sweet bread turned out great so 😋 are four eggs best? Thank you!

It’s candied fruit. Same thing you put in fruit cake
You can get them at a Mexican or latin stores, it's Quince paste or Membrillo.

The measurements seem wrong. I needed more flour and the topping didn’t come out like yours I had to add more sugar and flour too.
