Train at HUGE Railroad Crossing

- Train at HUGE Railroad Crossing ... One of the biggest crossings I've seen. You might think it is a malfunction but it isn't. This Brightline train pulled into the station, stopped, and the gates went up. A few moments after, they came down as the train pulled out of the station. It shares the track with FEC freight trains to the dismay of many FEC engineers as they have to wait for Brightline since they are given priority. This crossing is the Broward Boulevard crossing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to which I will include a Google Maps link below.

It's always nice to see the city I called home for 24 years, miss it. It's Heaven for anybody who loves planes, trains, and ships as much as I do . Thanks for another great video!
yes it is. good words.
That is a HUGE crossing! Looks like Christmas lights lol
Modern railroad crossings have a "time out" function in the system. If the crossing's controller doesn't sense the movement of a train after activation within a specific amount of time, the controller will raise the gates and deactivate the crossing. That cuts down on unnecessary delay caused by the crossing being activated with no train movement.
Great video Roly! Man you ain't kidding that is a huge crossing! I love that it still had a mechanical bell hanging in there! Nice job keep them coming!
The sound of the train is so nice
Thanks as always for the views and comments!
I alway like to wait for trains I like watching them pass all the time great video by the way
This crossing used to malfunction a lot almost a couple years ago
That probably happened when they were adding the new track for Brightline. Thanks as always for the views and comments!
Wow, that is some crossing. Strange, busy road even though dark but on both activations no traffic left to right came to the barrier.
Railroad 82 I admire your videos
That is a weird de-activation of the crossing! When I rode the St. louis Metrolink, there was a station right in front of a crossing, but the gates didn't go down until the train was about to leave the station and sounded its horn!
Awesome crossing video ! :)
You're welcome :)
Nice video. Looks great at night with all the signals flashing.
@@railrol82 Right you are about that!
Hey that’s the same crossing Millennium Force caught malfunctioning like crazy awhile ago! I think he also caught like 15 people stopping on the tracks and getting caught in between tracks. It was during the daytime so there was traffic everywhere. Nice video though!
Nice glad you came back to the milleniumforce crossing, sounds like some of the bells are GS type 3s and GS type 2s, also sounds like one of the mechanical bells ethier got replaced or is still dead, sadly i can't do a accident report because you didn't film the dot number
Damn that is 1 Huge Crossing though but I have seen alot of them now at this point too!
Looks like the Crossing timed-out the first time, makes me think these might be radio controlled. For the sake of not blocking up traffic for a long amount of time. Glad to hear that the WCH Mechanical Bell survived the upgrades!
Those are some fast railroad crossing lights
Weather must be nice at the time you recorded the train crossing. It's cold up here in Buffalo area. Wind chills making temps below zero. We all survive winters in Western NY! Super Bowl 53 coming up, I'm rooting for the Rams!
2:08 There is a gate runner
The train sounds and looks nice! And the crossing looks very nice as well with the statuon beside it ❤
We have some crossings around here that do that too. At one, the train is right next to the road and has to crawl until it completely lowers again.
I think they just mess up the sensors in the tracks. I never quite got how crossing gates work. I do know I've seen my share of malfunctions. Lol
Nice video and I appreciate the commentary, stay safe
Great video RailRo...The largest most complex crossing I've ever seen.
Broward Blvd, I have been over this crossing, it is huge.
Nice video! Glad to see people making videos of my favorite transportation company, Brightline.
:)
You're welcome.
:)
Nice video and crossing! That is one giant crossing there!
Nice video R&R please keep recording trains at R&R crossing
Beautiful crossing at night❤
They Should Add More Dialight Ball LEDs With Safetran Light Frames Lights On The Cantilevers Back Overhead!
I'm a fan of incandescent lights!
It flashes more than a Christmas tree. 😂
You're right about that!
I like how after the gates went up traffic didn’t move until the cop did on the one side
RailROL82
Your welcome
Some of those cars are almost catching air.....The train signal is treated like a yellow light. Haul azz !
I remember miluminimforce made a video of this crossing when it was malfunctioning
You're right, I remember that!
@@railrol82 haha and nice catch btw
@@rockymountainrailfan8796 TY very much!
@@railrol82 np
Looks like one of the gate mecs have a hard time lifting one of the gates back up, but i don't blame it.
That was insane, I saw some of those, but this is big!!!
I’m a huge fan!
Love seeing those trains. Nice
That is a big honkin’ crossing for sure! Nice video, and the explanation for the gates timing out while the train was at the crossing was very informative! And one word describes that gate-runner at 2:09-DUMBASS!
Keep it up!
👍 Super
I love this area. I should go back and get some more action here! Thanks as always for the views and comments, Michael.
Nice, ya we don't have big railroad crossings here in Canada, nice video
You can hear the doors closing. LOL
awesome video railrol82 :)
As usual great video!
Best regards :-)
Filmed there too!
Nice Video keep up the great work
Wow never seen that before I hit the like on this one for sure!
Thx enjoy all the videos
Wow
It is not a malfunction. When the train stopped at the station, The crossing timed out.
That's an awesome railroad crossing, talk about a red light show at night.
nice video and awesome horn
Hi there 2 things I noticed they should put crossing on center circuit to avoid active when stopping at station other is must be 2 relay boxes flashers were going different rates instead as one I'm a female rail fan and love activating crossing when driving have a great railroad day
Lake Okeechobee blvd tri rail/Amtrak/ csx crossing is even bigger.
Hey that was a enormous railroad crossing
2:01 the crossing turns on and the gate runner passes if I were him I would slam the brakes on the car
That gate runner is an idiot, risking his life like that. Thanks as always for the views and comments!
2:07 Next time you get a gate runner Try to capture the license plate and report it
I'm sure they'll get theirs one day!
Same sight of a major crossing malfunction a few years ago
2:12 you are absolutely right
Thanks as always for the views and comments, JH!
@@railrol82 Of course!
2:08 sir in that car, you should get a huge ticket
I agree. That driver is an idiot for risking his life like that.
Nice crossing but there's not enough lights. lol🤣
Isn't this the same crossing that Millennium Force filmed a while back that was malfunctioning and cars was stuck in the tracks?
I’ve seen this
Some say that the engineer dials a number that tells the crossing guard to reactivate
Do freight trains pass through there too
Where I live at large crossings like this one they have photo enforcement, so that guy that Gate Runner would of gotten a ticket!
In your video description, I see that you mention that FEC engineers are dismayed when Brightline has the right of way. Why is that the case since Brightline and FEC are owned by the same company, FEC Industries?
You're welcome RailROL82. Virgin does own Brightline, but only as a minor shareholder. Fortress Groups, the owner of both FEC Industries and FEC Railway still has the majority ownership over Brightline.
That railroad crossing looks bigger than my railroad crossing in Roblox studio it's also a 3track to
Safety railroad crossing?
Hi Rolly! Glad to see another one of your great videos!
RailROL82 THANK YOU SIR! But just to let you know I want to see a whole bunch of Christmas lights on the cantilever next December!!!!
Do you think you will ever attempt to catch a Freight Train here?
ruclips.net/video/ayiq15KWmlY/видео.html This is 2 blocks South of this crossing!
Guy ran crossing ...and here are the pedestrian Crossing deaths in the early 2018 days of Brightline...with a locomotive weight of 100-225 tons
"During the first six days of operation, two people were killed in separate incidents at railroad crossings along the line, after they attempted to cross the tracks while the gates were down.
During the first three months of operation, four people were killed by a Brightline train when they crossed the tracks illegally, with an additional three persons injured"
3:19 the gates go back up
Yes. Thanks as always for the views and comments!
In terms of nummer of r🔴d lights, this level crossing with "only" 34* lights is certainly not a record-holder. (* 46 if you count the barrier-lights) The record-holder🥇 in the w🌏rld is probably in Beaverton,OR, with 60 r🛑d lights❗ 🥈Second is Okeechobee blvd. in West Palm 🌴Beach. 50 r🔴d lights ❗(traffic-lights and barrier-lights not counted) Also in Miami, on NW 25th.st. there are 3 level crossings very close to each other . With in total 14 barriers and 106 r🛑d lights !
Great comment! I'm a big numbers guy. Where did you find these stats?
@@railrol82 No statistics needed. Other viewers report the locations, and i just started counting there on streetview. That's all . Because you love numbers so much, i still have some ! In jan. 2021 there are in the USA alone about 746(!) towns/cities with Street Running Trains ! Because many cities have several places with street tracks, there are about 1488 locations ! In 49 states ! Also right trough 12 Capitals ! Plus semi-streetrunning = 1172 towns/cities ! In total 19 30 locations !!! The USA is no. 1 in the world of Street Running Trains ! But it exsist also in about 95 other countries. In 628 places . No. 2 is Germany, with 120 places. No. 3 is Switzerland, with 52 places. But Switzerland is the no. 1, worldwide, in terms of electric passenger trains on the streets ! Those were enough numbers for today. (Everything subject to change)
@@streettrain4114 Thanks for sharing that info! Hopefully the pandemic will be contained so I can start traveling and documenting.
@@railrol82 I hope so too. The largest W🌏rldWide Street Running Train list/ overview in the w🌍rld is on www.coasttram.info/street running trains ! (combined website)
So the train is not detected when at the platform?
The crossing circuitry detects motion of the train. No motion allows the system to time-out.
WHAT KIND OF TRAIN IS THAT AND NO K5LA I SEE
some people never stop at Railroad
Is this in Florida ?
What city is the bright line commuter rail in?
It goes from Miami to West Palm Beach, FL. and soon to be Disney World.
@@railrol82 This is for the North-South Rail Link: chng.it/d49HcgKM
@@Ih8kone Thanks for sharing
@@railrol82 You're welcome. We need that railroad tunnel built!
@@Ih8kone Actually there is a RR tunnel near Miami. I should make a video of it. Thanks for the idea!
Are people actually riding that Brightline train?
I knew that was going to be a blunder.
Is the crossing activated by horn? I always love it when there are mechanical bells on Virgin Trains USA.
correct
One mechanical bell, amongst like 5 electronic bells!!!
Aren’t the bells supposed to ring, while the train is passing, and the gates lowered??? I ain’t never seen the bells go silent on a railroad grade crossing, while it’s in action.
FEC programmed all of their crossings to ring until the gates are down, and ring again as the gates rise.
Almost all of the crossings on the west coast ring as the gates lower and ring until the gates rise. Crossings on the east mostly ring until the gates are fully down. They mostly stay silent as the gates rise.
Thicc crossing
RailROL82 will do heading to the clam now!
RailROL82 I’m back from the clam and quagmire wants to see any girl you know for a project
RailROL82 why are you talking to that family guy?
