Train at HUGE Railroad Crossing

  • Train at HUGE Railroad Crossing ... One of the biggest crossings I've seen. You might think it is a malfunction but it isn't. This Brightline train pulled into the station, stopped, and the gates went up. A few moments after, they came down as the train pulled out of the station. It shares the track with FEC freight trains to the dismay of many FEC engineers as they have to wait for Brightline since they are given priority. This crossing is the Broward Boulevard crossing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to which I will include a Google Maps link below.

Modern railroad crossings have a "time out" function in the system. If the crossing's controller doesn't sense the movement of a train after activation within a specific amount of time, the controller will raise the gates and deactivate the crossing. That cuts down on unnecessary delay caused by the crossing being activated with no train movement.

(* 46 if you count the barrier-lights) The record-holder🥇 in the w🌏rld is probably in Beaverton,OR, with 60 r🛑d lights❗ 🥈Second is Okeechobee blvd. in West Palm 🌴Beach. 50 r🔴d lights ❗(traffic-lights and barrier-lights not counted) Also in Miami, on NW 25th.st. there are 3 level crossings very close to each other . With in total 14 barriers and 106 r🛑d lights !

In jan. 2021 there are in the USA alone about 746(!) towns/cities with Street Running Trains ! Because many cities have several places with street tracks, there are about 1488 locations ! In 49 states ! Also right trough 12 Capitals ! Plus semi-streetrunning = 1172 towns/cities ! In total 19 30 locations !!! The USA is no. 1 in the world of Street Running Trains ! But it exsist also in about 95 other countries. In 628 places . No. 2 is Germany, with 120 places. No. 3 is Switzerland, with 52 places.
