Jean Grey's battle against Mr Sinister is maybe my favorite sequence of this episode. I swear to god Western Media never seems to know how to depict Telekinesis as a great ability to use in the field and Jean's use of Movement/Defense/Offense is so well done and a major upgrade to how Jean is usally potrayed. But Mister Sinister legitimately did not disappoint. His teasing of him knowing exactly when the swap between Jean and Madelyn occured was so evil and He was pulling out techniques that remind me of Naruto with him traveling through Shadows and Darkness and with his true Ace in the Hole being Cable the tragedy is boosted even further.
If there’s a criticism I’ve seen that might be valid, some of the team composition was… not ideal? Like Sinister being faced by Jean and Nathan might have had issues they didn’t account for, but why send Wolverine to fight Magneto? Besides of course, that we need to recreate “Fatal Attractions”…? I don’t know, I’m sure there was discussion there. It’s hard to account for everything especially when the story needs to hit certain beats… Real question is, did anyone actually die this episode? And will we find out why Magneto was selectively spared the disintegration beam when everyone else wasn’t (and how it was?)
@@borjankosarac3645 I think a reason Logan was with Blue Team was Because when it came down to killing Bastion I don't think anyone on gold Team would've had any issues with that,but I think Logan was the only one who legitimately was willing to Kill Magneto rather than attempt to reason or bargain with him which he knows is a lost likely a Pointless effort.
Or, they could have just told Morph to become a Magneto, since he seems to retain the powers of who he becomes, and just de-activate the sentinels himself

This episode was Great! Only nitpick was with the teams. Wolverine should never go against Magneto, and even though they couldn’t have predicted the Mind control, it still would’ve been smart to keep Cable away from Sinister given that Sinister was obsessed with Cable
To be fair, Magneto tried it Xavier's way and look where that got him. Peaceful coexistence ONLY works if BOTH sides want it. Also, I really how this season has really explored the X men as characters and given them more depth. That ending though...Yikes! Also, Beau Demayo hinted at what's in store in the Finale by suggesting fans watch Star Trek The Next Generation episode "Cause and Effect".
Never mind Bastion was the one that did it, not the others that he is now condemning to die. He's now a very similar monster that killed all those that he loved and cared for. It doesn't matter if you can sympathize with him, certain lines are too far.
That makes Magneto’s frustration understandable and makes this conflict gray. In a lot of ways he is right. Just like in a lot of ways Charles is right. They both have valid points. However, I believe Magneto’s actions were made from emotion and not logic. Permanently destroying Earth’s magnetic field destroys not just humanity, but mutants as well. There is no way Magneto can possibly find every mutant on the planet in time to get them on Asteroid M before the planet dies. He probably cannot even get enough resources from the Earth to sustain a huge population indefinitely in space. Does Magneto even know if his children are alright? Does he even know if they died because of the EMP? If Asteroid M is completely dependent on Magneto’s powers can move can Magneto travel beyond light speeds to find a new planet similar to Earth for his mutant to live on? The more I think about it the more I see flaws Magneto’s plan. Hell it didn’t even look like he was trying to save more mutants when the X-Men came to face him. I feel like if Magneto won and succeeded once he cooled down he would likely regret what he did for the rest of his days and realize he killed more mutants than he saved with his actions, especially if all his children died as a result of his actions.

I really think we'll get a mini A V X 3) I believe we will get a Phoenix appearance. 4) Seeing the X-Men putting on their old school costumes was cool. 5) I think Cyclops is seeing things Magneto's way. Thus why I think he stopped the Professor. 6) I had no idea Beast claws were that sharp. That he could cut through steel. 7) Could we get a curveball where Wolverine gets Vibranium inside of him now?
Incorrect on Cyclops. He stopped the Professor to give the Gold Team more time. If Magneto was stopped right then Bastion would have activated the Prime Sentinel.

Yes, because the only thing that matters about a character is how "cool" they are or how "attractive" they are. Who they are as a person and what that represents? Nah. Character arcs and stories as well as character development? Garbage. It's one thing to say you don't like something, it's different to say that completely alters your ability to like a character because of that one aspect. I don't like storm in the old outfit, I'd prefer she kept her white one with the haircut she had because that was peak for me, but them changing that doesn't demolish the character. It's just a change or style, the core is still there.
I don’t like the bone claws either, but I loved this development. That was horrifying to see Magneto actually do it. Seeing Charles plead for him not to only to watch helplessly as his oldest friend rip metal off his bones and tear his body apart was emotional taxing. If this does lead Charles to give into his anger and start becoming more cynical this could lead to another devastating moment. If Charles actually destroys Magneto’s mind and fully gives up on him it is going to be heartbreaking. It could divide the X-Men. I can handle bone claws for a bit if it leads to great stories. Plus it would make Wolverine have to examine himself and who he is without them. I don’t think the bone claws are going to be nearly as effective.
It’s funny; everyone assumed that Val Cooper would be Mystique because the idea she’d not appear first season could not register in our minds… Did *nobody* figure she might be getting saved for a later season (at even a post-credits scene teaser)? Gotta say, I’m a bit ambivalent about Roberto flipping; not because I can’t see it, but because he’s kind of just been there so long yet not been integrated. Which might be the point, Jubilee is the only person he’s been bonding with, but… GUYS, you literally *just* put him into the costume this episode! The pacing for this series has been very brisk, which is both a blessing and a curse; the fact Magneto only was there a few episodes before Genosha got blown up, it makes sense in that it happens so soon after the UN ruling… but it also neuters the actual having him with the X-Men. Every story choice has ups and downs… but it’s not “Secret Invasion” *which is so bad it’s hit my MCU optimism hard* so. Yeah.
Regarding Mystique, yes, exactly! People got so used to her being a focal point in the movies that they started looking for her everywhere, forgetting that she wasn't even in that many episodes of the OG cartoon
As long as Storm can swim, she should be okay. If not, then maybe a NAMOR (cameo) will save her. Jean will turn into the Phoenix proven that she not her clone was the Phoenix. Wolverine will heal himself and be left with bone claws and an even more feral attitude. Forge will simply eject from the plane.
Will he have bone claws? They were created in the comics after the 92 show. In the 92 show in flash backs you see they put claws in him rather than coating bone claws. Always hated the bone claws
It's a bit simplistic, but there's a simple resolve to the Earth's new electro magnetic problem: Lorna Dane. She's been shown twice, during the old series and the new series. As Polaris, she can reverse what her father did. I'm having a hard time seeing Rogue returning to the team after this. She was willing to kill Trask, and now willingly joined Magneto and his cause. I can totally see her returning to Mystique when all is said and done. Speaking of Mystique, in the Rogue's Tale episode, Sinister gave Mystique info on Rogue and told Mystique that he will be asking her for a favor in the future. I wonder if she has been helping him all this time behind the scenes. If Rogue does return to her, Mystique's gamble worked. Regarding favorite costumes, my favorite Jean costume is the red and gold X-Factor costume with loose hair. Just classic. With how popular this series is, I wonder how it's effecting Disney's current outlook on the X-Men series. Kevin F must be on brainstorm overload with ideas about now. P.S. Rob rocks
This will be controversial: I hate Wolverine. I always found his character to be arrogant and very over-hyped. I applauded when Magneto ripped out his adamantium way back in the comics, and had a similar reaction when it happened in this awesome series. Be interesting to see what happens next.
I don’t hate him, but his overexposure is *beyond* tiring. This show has kept him as a supporting character, just like “Evolution” largely did, and I appreciate that always.
It’s not controversial. Most people’s favouritism for Wolverine is the result of the movies and Hugh Jackman. Anyone who read the comics and or watched ‘92, knew he wasn’t that big of a deal. He’s not the face of X-Men. He’s not THE X-Men. All because some Director and scriptwriter had a hard-on for him and hyped him up to oblivion back in the early 2000s. -__-

The story really trumped the logic there… I get why they did it, but it’s definitely an odd flub for this show’s writing quality there.

The Phoenix is coming, they have been bringing the topic since the first episodes.
Maybe Apocalypse will put the adamantium back into Wolverine along with bringing bring back Gambit and turn them both into his horsemen.
We are getting more than 3 seasons.
