The intro was perfection -- simultaneously mocking and validating the agony of the seemingly minor injury that is somehow so much worse! And I KNEW petrolatum was going to be involved somehow 😆. Thanks Dr. Dray!
Right?😂😂😂❤
The Jagged Edge cameo was chef's kiss!
Thank you! There is a manicurist here on RUclips that has a great channel called The Salon Life. She explains how to care for the nails and has really helped me to stop being a biter/picker. My nails look great now.
Kerasal foot ointment around my nails before bed is a game changer for this!
For me too!
This is something I have struggled with for the past 5 years, To the point of embarrassment. This will truly save my fingers!
Same here. I don’t remove them, I’ve just been using a hand cream and aquaphor on top at night. Helps most of the time but not always
@@guyplayyeah, I am doing the same but with vaseline instead. works fine for me, but you have to be very consistent with it (I often forget to do it tbh lol )
Nearly spat out my coffee at the nibbling actions
“It’s not a snack”. 😂😂
I came across a video on RUclips lately by The Salon Life a professional nail technician. She says that skin is actually the proximal nail fold (living skin) and the reason it splits and cracks is because it’s stuck to the nail bed and as the nail grows it pulls and rips the skin. The cuticle is the dead skin that’s stuck under the proximal nail fold. Her recommendation is to rub in jojoba oil - just a drop for both hands - into the nails after each hand washing and use Kerasal every night and using an orange stick gently nudge the skin back every couple of days. I had terrible ‘hangnails’ and thick dry proximal nail fold and can say this absolutely works…..my nails and skin around them are already so much better after only a week.
Yes, I've come across her as well. It was her video on warm oil for brittle nails. I also like Nail Career Education though she doesn't do as much natural nail care. She recently did a natural manicure video on a male client and discussed cuticles and how to safely remove hangnails.
She is a real pro nail technician. Love her
Dr. Dray, this video was HI-larious!! Jagged Edge, nubins, “they’re not a snack!”, the munching noises…Oh my 🤣 THANK YOU!
I’m guilty of nibbing as well, hangnails are so annoying! Might as well try your recommendations. Great video!
They are a nuisance
The jagged edge meme😅🖤🙏
All the love from Germany 🫶
😂😂
U caught me red-handed cuz i was picking my skin while watching this video lol. I just did it instantly without thinking too much about the consequences it may cause
Cotton gloves are

Happy Friday!
Happy weekend Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
I learned so much!! Thank you!!
Thanks, Doc!
My all time favorite Dray video.
Currently dealing with hangnails on both hands. Thank you so much, Dr Dray!! My hands are constantly dry from frequent hand washing because of my job. Happy Friday!! I hope you, your sweet momma and little Tybee have a fantastic weekend!! 💗
Guilty as well, and I seem to get them mostly on my thumbs and index fingers! Thanks so much. This will be much better than trying to bite them off to the point of bleeding!
They are so uncomfortable
I always have hangnails & have for as long as I can remember. Thank you!
Thx doc
Hi dr Dray! I hope you review the Kojie san soap for brightening the skin
Happy Friday, Dr. Dray❤
Morning!
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Happy Friday
Thank You
Thanks for watching
Vaseline dabbed on every night and my proximal nail fold is perfection.
Great to see someone using the correct name "Proximal Nail Fold" and not "cuticle" which is dead skin cells on the nail plate.
@@dianneporter542 I'm on a one person mission to get people saying nail fold instead of cuticle. Lol
Thanks for the Vaseline alternative. I’m allergic to adhesives, acrylates etc.
Dziękujemy.
Happy Friday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this ❤️

Hi Jackie! Happy Friday!! I hope all is well with you and that you had a nice day. I hope your area isn't getting any bad weather. It was a little warmer here but still windy and it quickly got very chilly once the sun started to go down. I had a good day with lots of adorable animals. Two kitties that came in were named Bagel and Oreo. Also a sweet lab named Baylor. So cute. I sure am ready to relax with you, my dear, sweet friend and share a cup of tea. Let's call the kitties and we can all relax together. I hope you have a wonderful evening and have sweet dreams. Peace, joy and many blessings to you always. 💚🙏💚🕊💚☕🐈☕🐈💚💐🌻🌷💚

Organic henna on the hands 🙌 it stops the hang nails to returning but I used henna like 6 months on the finger tips
I use a drop of liquid band aid.
I have used Liquid Skin/Bandaid and it has been effective for cuticle healing from a tear.😊
Where would cuticle oil fit in here. Would it make a hang nail worse, better? Thanks in advance 😊
Would love suggestions on how to heal fingers due to dermatillomania. It is definitely more than just a hangnail situation. I've tried nail oils, petroleum jelly, kerasol ointment. Thank you 💜💜
I like to use Sally Hansen cuticle remover. Seems to work well. Always using Neutrogena hydro boost lotion as well helps. ❤
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n 🖐Hello Every1 n Happy Friday😀n what a Wonderful Vid…. thanks n This is Gonna b so Helpful🔥👍n Continued Blessings to All💜….

I don't get my nails professionally done unless there is like a major event which may be twice a year jaja and i do shellac. I like to cut my nails short and i am about to buy a file so i can make them more even. I do have a problem messing the hang nails and recently got a callus from digging a hole and i had my ring on. So ive been digging at it and its been blistering but i will manage myself to moisturize from now on and stop picking at them
how about the liquid bandage instead of glue?
I have some that are actually nail. What should we do about those? Thanks!
You have turned me on to petroleum jelly for a few things. I buy big jars at Costco. I have them at my bathroom sinks and every time I wash my hands I rub a small amount into my cuticles and hands. I’m going to look through your videos and see if you have one about dish washing detergent. I think that is what dries my cuticles out so much. I use Dawn, and it is great at cutting grease, but my hands and cuticles are always dry. I never remember gloves until after the fact.
Have you heard of anyone that has allergic reactions to petroleum jelly? Great video BTW.
I have a small clipper for hangnails. I don't use it for anything else and I keep it clean. It's always in my handbag in case I need to remove annoying hangnails so I don't accidentally pull them more.
Nice thumbnail 👍
I used to experience a ton of hang nails but since I’ve been diagnosed with skin allergies I don’t really get them anymore. The only time they show up now is after I accidentally use a product with an allergen in it. Hang nails are not typically associated with a symptom of skin allergies, but it does tend to be one of the symptoms for me.
"Hangnails are not a snack" pairs nicely with "your teeth are not tools".
You showed the cuticle scissors and they work pretty good, but my mom showed me long time ago, a nail clipper usually works best and yeah keep your cuticle pushed back and do it every time you are drying your hands and moisture helps too.
Hello Dr Dray, I know, you have some videos about reapplying sunscreen over makeup. However they were filmed when you yourself weren´t wearing makeup daily. I was thinking, that now, when you wear makeup, you might have some more updated tips. (btw your makeup looks are PERFECT)
In the meantime, Tea with MD has a video covering this from the past year. Dr. Jenny Liu covered sunscreen sticks and went over application over makeup. Dr. Sam Ellis was covering sunscreens for oily skin and mentioned the Biore UV Aqua as a good one for over makeup.
@@db-gb5xi thank you, I didn´t know about "tea with MD"!
“It’s my nubbin” - Chandler Bing
😂
I haven’t watched yet but I am sure vaseline is going to be a solution. as always 😂
have a nice day and thank you for your daily uploads ❤️
No, superglue ✊🫣
I had them so bad when I was a kid. I got strep in my fingers. That cured me of nail biting
I got worts on my finger when I was a kid. The doctor told me so long as I keep my fingers out of my mouth I won’t get them back after treatment. Haven’t had them in decades now.
Dr.can I take daily 20mg spiromide tablet?
What do you do about nails that break below the skin? I have that happen a lot.
I use a good antibacterial cream on them if I pull on then and I do pull on them
Public announcement I may have to glue several fingers at all times as I will no longer be biting with my germ infested mouth !!!!!
Can we also use nail glue???
Dr Dray, would you please make a video on what kind of sunscreens are safe during pregnancy? Specifically would love to know if Asian sunscreens are safe. The internet hasn’t made this super clear 😅
Dr Dray in her pregnancy videos has said any sunscreen is safe to use as long as you like using it. So have other derms.
HI I was just watching one of ur videos on eyebrow hair loss and my left eyebrow lookes like urs but my other one is normal and I was trying to figure out what is was and how I can get it looking like the other one! Everybody asks me if I shaved it and it does look like that! my left eyebrow has looked like that since I was born and I am only 12! I was wondering if u could help me out! Thanks!❤
Intro 10/10
Nail techs in my country also recommend the same glue for nails torn from the nail bed, even if bleeding. Didn't believe it, but if it is safe for hangnails is it safe for broken nails as well? (Excluding allergies and sensitivity).
PS. Oh and most likely stop the bleeding first I guess?
As a nail tech I appreciate this video on a deeper level
Bag Balm on cuticles before going to bed. Hangnail gone the next day.
Bag Balm is, well…the bomb. The tiny tin is the perfectly suited for stashing in a backpack or purse .
Great video as always! However, every time you said "Wet work", my mind automatically went to "Hit man". 😜😜😜😂😂😂
Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
SAME 😂
Hi Dr Dray, I don’t understand how wearing cotton gloves enhances the penetration of Vaseline etc, I feel like the cotton would absorb the Vaseline?
Or any ointment or highly emollient moisturiser
Why didn't I ask this 😭 long ago? Thanks 👍🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤
Gloves and Vitamin E oil does good for me. Oil from Dollar Tree 😮😂
Thanks for watching
Happy Friday all :)
Good morning!
DR DRAY, I JUST SEARCHED YOUR VIDS FOR INFO ON BRUISING AND FOUND NOTHING, SURPRISINGLY. MAYBE IT'S THERE AND DIDN'T POP UP. WOULD YOU PLEASE DO SOMETHING ON THE BRUISING TOPIC? MOSTLY ON REASONS FOR SOMEONE BEING EASILY BRUISED AND BRUISE PRONE. BUT GENERAL INFO TOO, IF YOU CAN. THX! LOVE YOUR STUFF.
Not sure it's the same but what about her videos on skin thinning?
I just use a cuticle cutter .
I’ve been doing the Vaseline at night routine. It has really helped my cuticles to be softer with fewer hang nails. However, they are still so big! Best lotion with highest urea or AHA?
Paula’s Choice has a 10% AHA body lotion which is lovely and they have sales often :)
I push my cuticles back but I don't cut them...
Jagged Edge has me TICKLED 💀💀💀💀
All the men in my house use the manicure scissors to cut their nails. Also, I use NuSkin or other “liquid bandages” instead of Super Glue.
I sleep with my hands at the side of my face so I have to be so careful on what use on my hands at night.
Also all my tossing and turn and adjusting the covers seems to remove all the ointment. And I can't stand gloves.
Did you know I was searching your videos for how to get rid of hangnails this week😂? I have had awful peeling skin around my nails/hangnails
It’s not just the hangnail itself. But nibbling on it gets germs into it and then an infection. That has happened to me a few times.
Exactly
I often get them after I cut my fingernails. Also a healthcare worker and mom. So my hands are trashed.
I know you've been using Winky Lux mascara but have you checked out tubing mascaras from e.l.f. or wowcombo? Also, Amlactin has a 7% lotion and a cream with vit c (a derivative).
Not yet!
I use nu skin
That also works well 👍🏼
I just got hangnail in my pinky finger perfect timeing
They are so uncomfortable
This video came on time im currently looking to my hanging nail im tired of it... i cut it multiple times but still I have to cut even more like for ever 😖
They are a nuisance
Guilty.
Hard to resist because they are so annoying
Let‘s be real; we’re all either cutting, ripping or clipping it off. 🥴
Too much hand sanitizer use and dry skin.
“Nubbin” is another medical term. 😁 👍🏻
😅 jaged edge
