We visited Oahu in February of 2007 and they had just had an unusually strong “cold” front that lowered evening temps on Waikiki into the upper 50s for lows and that even felt chilly to us since we were expecting warmer temps. The days still got up close to 80 but it made the water temps in the low 70s which to me felt quite cold. It was my first time back visiting the tropics since I was a kid living on Guam and I was expecting bath water temps. It was still beautiful and an amazing experience.

Not having the plumeria aroma in the air is a definite con. We were at Anini Beach on Lihue in Feb 2022 and it was chillier with the winds coming from north, yet still beautiful. Also, that same trip instead of trying to find space on the beach at Kua Bay we put our chairs to the left of the stairs and watched for whales as the surf was nearly to the lifeguard shack. Mahalo for another solid video.

Another great video. On January 6 I returned from 14 beautiful days on the Island (5 in Kailua Kona and 9 in Waikoloa) There was virtually no wind most of the time up in Waikoloa during my stay.... when the wind is not blowing it feels 5-7 degrees warmer.
I have live cams from all 4 main Islands and the Waikoloa beach resort cam consistently has the best weather in the winter hands down.
I tell everyone from Canada your best chance for nice winter weather is the Kohala coast area. Kailua Kona is usually pretty nice as well.

We were there for the recent strong swells in mid-January. Definitely impacted ability to swim and snorkel in some spots and, yup, the beach closures. My husband was able to do some good snorkeling at Two Step, though. We enjoyed our time watching whales from the beaches instead. Our whale watch did get moved due to waves but when we did go out we saw so much activity, including a full breach, so it worked out! This was our second visit to BI and we enjoyed ourselves a lot! Next time we will probably go later in the year to swim/snorkel more but we wanted to see whales and whoa boy did we see lots of them. Watched a bunch of your videos in prep for the trip and will again for whenever our next visit is 😊

I will be visiting Hilo area and the volcanos in November. I prefer the cooler weather, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, now living in Portland, Oregon. We get a lot of wind here closer to the Columbia River Gorge. Once the temperatures reach the mid 70’s it is hot for me. I think it will be perfect in November. Hope to reach the summit of Mauna Kea where I know it will be windy and cold.
Your videos have been informative, thank you.

Love your videos! Both my Husband and I were born and raised in Florida. We are coming to the Big Island Feb.6th for two weeks. This will be our 2nd time we will be visiting. We come in February because it's our Wedding Anniversary. First time we went to Maui for our 20th anniversary. It was beautiful and not that crowded. Then on our 25th went to the Big Island to see the lava. It was 2012. No lava. But still had a great time. 30th anniversary, we went to Kauai it was amazing. We didn't get to come for our 35th because it was right after covid. So we are coming now to celebrate our 40th. I love your videos so helpful. I wrote and told you guys about our airplane experience on the at the Kona airport. But we are in love with Hawaii. Went to Maui in July for my Birthday in 2017 and it was so crowded. And we know from your videos that now it's really crowded everywhere. We are used to it because Florida is now crazy crowded. Still so excited to go to Hawaii! From one paradise to another, Aloha!!!
