A glance under the hood is enough to confirm that the owner has a big carbon footprint :-) Love it.
Greta: "How dare you!".
LOL
@0:55 the track Marshall car nearly held the M3 out during the over take. I loved my V8 E92 M3 but she needed the revs to demonstrate full performance. Also as much as I love manual cars the DCT really worked well with such a high revving high power band car. The extra 7th gear and the shorter lower gears with a tighter spread really helped the car make progress.
DCT is so much faster. Its perfect for the S65
Yeah I have a manual and although I love heel and toeing and having more control I do think the gears are a touch long.
Manual is fine you just need to keep the revs up the whole time I was screaming for him to downshift. Same as a gt350
@@scientificenigma Its fine keeping the revs up but the ratios are a bit too long imo.
@@scientificenigma I've driven both and owned one. The spread with the 7 speed box is better.
loved getting straight to the lap with no intro. Great stuff!
These M3's need revs. This engine produces max power at 8300 rpms. In slow corners they want to be in 2nd gear, because in 2nd you can hit 120 km/h and 180 in 3rd.
Sounds amazing! Very cool video comrade
It transformed the car! Almost ITB-like, without ITBs!
@@mgcharoudinSurely the E92 M3's engine has ITBs from factory, just like every N/A M-engine :-)
Nice to hear the eventuri on the track where you can really get a good idea of the sound throughout the rev range.
Love the fact that you got into the car that you crashed with, to do a proper taxi lap. Getting back to driving fast after a crash, can be difficult . Big kudos, nice vid as always!
3rd gear looks to go on forever makes it sound "slow" It does sound great while doing so 😉👌🏻
it surprised me that you did not blow by the marshall's car that easily 🤔
Marshall was sending it😁
Misha needs to do a video lap inside a marshall car on full send, maybe as a follow up to his recent S5 safety car review.
Have you watched the last video in the ACR? The thing sounded like all it needed was that 3rd gear! What a torque monster!! 😍🔥
he was low rpm that M engine only makes power up top (+long gear dont help)
Obviously the shifting was minimized due to RHD setup. Not so easy to get used to.
Wonderful Intake sound.
This format is pure fire. There is nothing like it for testing and analysis on you tube.
There is a weird resonant frequency that comes and goes as the engine goes up through the rev range so 5k revs sounds similar to 7k revs.
Great sound!
Sounds great
Man that induction noise reminds me somewhat of the M3 CSL, awesome and even more revs. RHD cars are a thing you need to get used to ;-) Good driving Misha you not fully sent it but you did sent it xD
Nice lap on the proper side to drive on. 😂😂 It does sound so good thou. Couldn't spot the bird on track thou. 🐦👀
Dreamcars for me with a dream sound. You see a lot of them at the ring, but not for sale.
those sounds were fantastic
The sound of the green hell today in E46 by bmw payed from misha.
A great combo 👍
That carbon intake sounds better from the inside.
I wonder if this era of m3 needs an exhaust to really be opened up?
Oh and I agree those gears do seem long to me. That's why I prefer the DCT on this model of m3.
Yummy carbon, almost as yum as pancakes 😋
Sounds good on headphones, but was that just a strange resonance that makes it sound like engine rattle as the revs pass through 6000? I assume so as it didn't blow up.
Vanos doing its thing I guess?
Just wondered the same thing.
@@animehunter3234 Just frequencies and microphone stuff
@@coyotetales33 Was going to say the same, indeed sounds like the mic is having a hard time, LOL
You need new headphones…
Just sold my E90 manual M3 today. This video making me want to buy it back
Just booked the M4 for tomorrow, looks like a blast. Cant wait
Nobody talks about the track marshals, but I think that if they were given a good car, they would be able to set a very good time. Except for some professional pilot, nobody gives more laps to the ring than them throughout the year.
I think it needs oil cooler upgrade. The oil temp was little high.
Sounds like an old E30 DTM ❤
proper sound!
Awesome video buddy 😀 🇬🇧 👍
Amazing run. So good to see what you can get out of the car.
Hope it’s not on stock suspension(?), and the stock seats would have made for a tough ride (to hang on I mean).
I'am impressed by reaction of fuel gauge. An M3 eco... with torque of 325d.
same torque between diesel and petrol engines isn't comparable because of different diff gearbox ratios...
@Wieloimienny Motorsport Wrong, it's turbo vs NA engines. Constant torque is all that matters from low to high rpm. Diff only transfers power to the road.
@@ventouxR well, gear ratios are thing which hugely changes torque going into the wheels, diesels have them much longer, torque only matters on day to day normal driving, in racing it doesn't matter as you drive in high rpm bands mostly where hp is much more important, that's why we don't see any tractor races
@Wieloimienny Motorsport True torque values are measured on engine shaft, not at gearbox shaft and power/weight ratio defines performance. And I had turbo petrol car with diesel gearbox in, well same gearbox was shared between engines with same torque values. Didn't Audi won le mans with tractor engine?
@@ventouxR well, Audi did cuz of great range without refueling, but I meant literally tractors, which have loads of torque and small hp figures lol
loveeee the sound nice nice vid
It sounded faster than it actually was.
Amazing how a little change in resonance transforms the experience, eh?
The sound is epic but Misha why you short shifting, this engine makes all the power at the top of the Rev range. It needs to revved out all the way to perform at its best, I know the gears are long but still. It’s like driving a Honda VTECH and short shifting at 6k.
V8 noises ftw
Manual box vs DCT, it's doesn't have the extra gear the DCT has
Soo,! Wie ein E92 klingt, wissen wir jetzt!😎😊👌 Wie wär's nun mit einem Camaro ZL1 oder einem Shelby Mustang?😉😎
Good video
Dtc e92 would be much quicker on that track but still good fun with a manual!
Yes but he was also always in the wrong gear.
Sounds like a Honda vtec. Sounds good though
Klinkt goed!
Now there's the Fizz, James May always talked about! Any other mods besides the Intake?
Very nice! Misha, I had an idea for a service for your company that would help bring young people into the sport we love. Call it the "Bug Patrol" Have some young guys and gals to clean the bugs off the cars for say $5 split 50/50 plus tips. The cars would look nicer (and we all love that) and the kids would gain an appreciation of the cars as well. You could probably get a car chem company to sponsor the project also. Ask anyone from Florida (my home) about "Love Bugs" and you will understand my disdain. lol Just a thought....
Agree. Too many Nurburing videos are spoilt by dirty windscreens.
@@alenaalena13 I drove in Germany in the summertime including a trip to the Nurburgring and you get so many bugs on the windscreen at that time of year on the autobahns and the ring that you'd pretty much have to scrub the windscreen after every lap.
60% of the time you were in 3rd gear.
Long gearing is detrimental to manual gearboxes enjoyment, not only because you have less need to shift gears, but also you're doubting yourself everytime the revs dip under the sweet spot: you're hurting because you're out of the power band, but also don't want to look like an idiot and downshifting to a lower gear and find yourself already near the redline.
Try getting in a RHD car and shifting with a completely different hand while driving aggressively (because, you know, he drives LHD cars), knowing perfectly well that a single misshift could grenade the engine and other components.
That's why he was in 3rd gear most of the time, especially considering the previous history of the car.
@@rustler08 takes a week.
How to annoy the vast majority of those in Europe with one sentence
"Welcome to the correct side of the car!"
I can feel the animosity already.
It's like an icy breeze
(Good lap)
Exactly, its the "right" side - nuff said :D (RHD e46 owner living in Germany)
sound 10/10 speed is sleepers
Great vlogvideo ! But quality picture is just not 100%, sorry tosay! LOve your work man u great! // I was just on the Ring a few weeks ago enjoyd it very Much// Chrisn in a BlueBMWGC
Owner must have asked him to short shift, but then what's the point in giving you car to Misha to drive?
incredible there is almost more gasoline on arrival than on departure! almost, 😁 the sound of the engine put me in doubt, it's the s65 motort sounds like a cross plane crankshaft motor but it's not, no🤨🤔
Why don’t we get what the outside looks like and the mods it has?
Needs Dinan 4:10’s
The e90-92 cars have annoying clutches too so it’s tricky to shift fast
It’s not the clutch itself, it’s the clutch delay valve in the hydraulics
I really think this engine is missing a few horses, it should rev up way more willingly. Better get that checked. Still sounds great ^^
I'm guessing it might be due to the fact that there's 3 people in the car. I find that for every person I add in my e92 m3 there is a noticeable drop in performance. Once you start getting people in the back seat it becomes really noticeable as at that point you have an extra 300lbs+
Sounds like there is a slight misfire around 6000 rpm
why does it sound so weird from 6k rpm to 6.5k rpm?
it was getting kinda hot, look at the temperature gauge. going up to 3/4 of the scale. Idk if it´s normal for a e92 m3, but it doesnt look like...
too stock
hot day and a big N/A engine
perfectly normal on a stock car on hot lap
Mmmmmm delicious V8 noises
Am I the only one worried about the oil temps?
I'm just putting a 4.1 final drive on my e90 m3 as gearing feels too tall stock which is something like 3.85 FD.
Bmws max. Engineering long time ago
Hey, what happened to Robert and you? Havent seen content of you guys together in awhile. Just curious!
Got to keep it above 5500 rpm
_you will enjoy more driving that car if it has a short gearing that just me imho._
Where can we find the previous video that has more information about this car?
Oil temps seem high
Quick poll. M3 E92 or M3 E90? Manual or DCT? Why?
E90 m3 with a manual 😍 although I think the e92 is the better looker
E90 manual all day
E92 DCT for daily driver/track use. The sound matched with the fast shifts had me sold compared to when I tested manuals. Also if you're into racing, watching the e92 years ago on Sebring 10 hours, etc. were great times. All E9x's are beauties in their own ways
E90, manual and in imola red.
Because its more rare, practical and it looks just as stunning as the E92. DCT or manual is just a preference thing and depends on how the car will be used. I wouldn't mind either transmission tbh.
I have an E92 M3 MT and it's my favorite car I've ever owned 😁 I'll only sell it if it means getting into a GT3 lol otherwise I'll keep it forever!
Do you have to code after installing?
Wonder if the exhaust is stock? Mine doesn't sound as good with the plenum as this one, maybe my test pipes and exhaust drown it out
I wonder when you’re going to rip an ISF
👍👍👍👏👏
Doing a few lap on a track like this, should you expect some damage on the surface of the car? i'm concerned about using my car on a track because i dont want to damage the surface
few rock chips on paint maybe?
Your car is getting on the road also abuse, so the car is not staying perfect when you drive it.
Well there will of course be some marks from loose stones, and also more if you go onto the grass or into a barrier, but using paint protection film should ensure that the lower parts of the car and the bumpers don't get their paint damaged.
You own a museum for your Car?
Nothing but induction. Needs an open exhaust.
😎🤙🦅
This E92 definitely lacks power.. max 370-380hp
Excuse the ignorance on my part. On a right hand drive car, where is first gear? All the way to left and up or all the way to right and up? Just curious.
Left and up, nothing changed, clutch is still left side too
Seems really slow for a car that's meant to have 420+HP, sounds nuts though
Passenger in the back too so carrying an extra 180kg probably.
He's in the wrong gear almost every corner exit, it lets us hear all the rpm though except over 7500 cause he shifts too early which is again, not his car + RHD and not used to the car.
Evolve is a terrible company but even then I cant turn down an e92 m3 video
Hi
What the brand of carbon intake ?
Thx
He said Eventuri at the beginning of the video. They make one for a E46 M3 as well.

The Cayman GT4 RS carbon intake sounds are waaaaay better!!
Yeah but its a Porsche not a BMW which u can afford...
Agreed! But as the other person pointed out....... try to find the GT4RS without a $100k markup. These dealer markups are ridiculous !!! Pure greed.
While I wholeheartedly agree, the cayman GT4 RS engine is literally inside the cabin which helps a bit too
Honestly it's subjective. That V8 on the M3 have on of the best intake sound too being a official Motorsport engine
Sounds great
