Great list guys! 😎 We love that Francis joined in for the video! We hope he continues to make appearances because we really enjoy the banter between you two!
Thank you Morgan and Mitch! 🥰 Was so much fun filming together! Hoping he makes more content with me. Fingers crossed hes down for more in the future! Thanks for watching! I need to know your updated favourites! Any upcoming top games videos soon? 😏
😎 I just found Three Sisters!!! I tried buying it from Amazon but it came destroyed and didn't have any game pads. I then tried to buy from a different site but they refunded my money because they didn't actually have it. Yesterday, I found it at a garage sale for $20 and it had only been played once! What a lucky find!
Never feel bad about a Board Game Garden video running long! It's just more of a good thing! I'm looking forward to the #10-1 countdown, and Jenna, I'm going to see how many of your top 10 games I can guess, and how close I can get with their spots on the list. 😎
I do personally enjoy longer videos! I'm just hoping everyone else does as well. 😂 There just great to pop on in the background. I'm excited to see how many you get correct!
@@TheBoardGameGarden Okay, here are my predictions for 10-1: 10. Cascadia 9. Hadrian's Wall 8. The Whatnot Cabinet 7. Atheneum: Mystic Library 6. Tuki 5. Viticulture 4. Honey Buzz 3. Concordia 2. Seize the Bean 1. Near and Far Can't wait to see how I did! 😊
Always great to see Francis. A favorite format of mine is a couple expressing their love for games. Fun lists. One of my favorite channels to hang out with you guys. Thank you. Looking forward to your top 10s!
Yeah I've only heard fantastic things about it! So excited to get it to the table. Try out some of the modules. Do you recommend all of them at once or just certain ones?
😎 Great lists y’all. Arnak and Cascadia are in my top five so I was hurt by each of you that they were so low… but sounds like you’ll remedy each others blunders in the next one. I’d argue that the Arnak expansion is necessary simply for the added cards tiles and guardians. Oh and the new temples! The namesake leaders are actually my least favorite addition. Given J’s love of X&writes and F’s love of exploration games, yall need to try The Guild of Merchant Explorers. Bland name, but solid game (and soloable!)
HAHA! No spoilers but both those games might be making appearances in the next video. 😏😂 And yeah honestly the additional cards, second double sided research track and tiles all make it worth it even if you don't play with the leaders all the time. And ooohhhh I have been eyeing The Guild Of Merchant Explorers! I guess your right! It's literally a flip and place exploring game! Literally perfect for us! And soloable! EVEN BETTER! 😊👏🏻
An excellent video-Everdell, Cascadia, Viticulture, and Fleet: The Dice Game are all on my "shelf of shame" (though this only makes me more excited to table them), Three Sisters is on my "to-buy" short list, I adore Parks, and Wingspan may be my #1 game of all time. But ultimately, I think the real joy here is all of the fantastic Penny content-front, back, flopped over, scooting, and everything in between!!! 😂😎
Love that we have very similar taste in games! Get those games to the table! All are so good! 👏🏻 And I know right! She was being so funny! I need to film with her more often. 😂
Loved this so much! The interactions between you two - so much fun! And your cute pupper was distracting in the best ways! 💙 I'm looking forward to trying Everdell soon, hopefully the digital version, to see how we like it before investing in the physical version if we like it enough. I just ordered the expansion for Taverns of Tiefenthal! I love the game! Also, my husband gave me upgraded 3D printed bits from Etsy for the base game for my birthday last year. You really need to get to playing with all the modules. It's the best way to play! Northstar no longer has the license, it's back to CMYK. So the expansion is CMYK. Hopefulyl they're compatible. I'll find out soon. Yay Three Sisters! My favorite R&W! It fixes the few issues I had with Fleet Dice where you could have bad dice rolls. I'm very excited for Motor City! I love Ben & Matt's comboriffic games! I know I've said this before, but I am looking forward to getting Hadrian's Wall someday. I think I'll really like it mechanically, though the theme puts me off. So I wonder if it will displace Three Sisters for me. Quacks is soo good! Love the Herb Witches expansion. If I can, I always play with the witches, they add so much to the game! I still need to get Cascadia to the table. We love Overboss, so we're pretty sure we'll enjoy Cascadia. Calico is a very tough puzzle that can feel overwhelming. Looking forward to your top 10! 😎
😎😎😎 Awesome list! So many that I would probably have in my own top 20, but I don’t have the mental capacity to actually sit and make that rn lol. Looking forward to the next half!
😎 If you like dice placement you should check out Fantastic Factories. My wife and I went and checked out J and J's and picked up Merchants of the dark road, Paint the roses, and 5211.
😎 Fun list. Usually, people would call Concordia hand management but not deck building, because you end up with the whole inventory of cards in your hand to choose from. Deck-builders are usually shuffled, but I think Aeon's End would also classify.
47:02 And you keep thinking, “Don’t take that green stripe tile.. That is the one I need to complete my set collection two ways. That tile is worth a zillion points to me”.
47:24 But I remember Rahdo (who used to be a video game designer) say that he preferred someone to tell him exactly what they wanted and he can work in those confounds, rather than telling him to do whatever he wants to design a game - which he did not work as well. That is exactly how I feel about Calico vs Cascadia. In Cascadia, there is a million things a player can do, so how are we supposed to know what to do to optimize? In Calico, you are already restricted: 1) By the board and space; and 2) By the pattern/color tiles, which lay out what you get points for. That way, I feel that you can plan ahead based on what you need, in order to get points - and with a little luck, you can get the perfect tiles which will help to maximize your score.
My new favorite board gaming couple, loving your videos! And fellow Ontarioans lol Represent. 😎 "me? Is that what you call me now?" 🤣 Looking forward to top 10!
Great lists from both of you, and thanks for the video. 😎 I'm relatively new to boardgame collecting, but you included so many titles that are on my wish-list (with Clank! being the highest on from my wish-list so far) Got to agree with Merchants of the Dark Road making Jenna's list: it's a brilliant game, that looks beautiful once it's tabled, and has amazing component quality. It's strange that it always receives such mixed reviews from people (maybe not love or hate; but definitely love or meh!) Looking forward to watching the #10 - #1 lists from you both. Thanks again
Awesome list! And great job getting Francis on screen haha I am still trying to get the Mrs. to do a post with me. Cascadia, Wingspan, Viticulture, are all crossovers for me 😎 made it to the end
Great quality of video, i like when you put some pictures from the board so we actualy see how the game looks like.😎 And please add the honorable mentions for the games that you like but played only once/twice
Thank you so much! That means a lot! I tried really hard with this one! Wanted nice b-roll for every game. 😊👍🏻 We will definitely mention the others at the end of the next video! All the games that have potential.
WOOHOO! Thank you so much for watching! 😊 Welcome to the garden! We've got fun and games. See what I did there? 😂 So glad you enjoyed and can't wait to film our 10-1 soon!
Solid list! You guys did really well together in this video, really enjoyed it.😎 So many games I wanna recommend for you to check out now haha. I’ll write a list😂
1. Glad you mentioned a press your luck game - need to look more into these 2. Glad you mentioned Galaxy Truckers again - checking out now 🤞it will be a press your luck I’m interested in 😎
What a good video! Penny is a real rock star!!!! (she's so adorable!) 🥰 the complicity between you an Francis is a pleasure to see! Games ranking is a difficult exercise, I couldn't do it! oh! The Tavern of Tiefenthal! I have to play that again, it's a good game! The Castle of Burgundy-the cards game has a solo version. You should try The 7th Continent (a masterpiece) and Subterra, they are top notch, Cracker Jack! I love them! At the moment I'm playing Red Rising, a game from last year ; I assume it's better because I read the books. thanks for the video, I'm looking forward to watching the next one!
AHAHAHA! I know right! She is the cutest thing. 😂 I had a blast watching what she did while I edited the video. And thank you so much! Loved filming with him. We love Sub Terra! We just don't get it to the table a lot. Need to play that again. SO GOOD! And nice! Red Rising looks great! Glad you are enjoying it. Thank you so much for watching!
WOW! Great list you guys! I just played Merchants last Saturday. It did a LOT of cool things but I felt it was too long and at the end...I needed to make money and it was the first time I felt like I could really not do anything with money...only points. I love the dice use of moving it up and doing the action that the dice passed. I thought there were LOTS of options for movement with the horseshoes and such. Just a bit too long. And on Caverna...which is a great one: DON'T PLAY 5,6 or 7! OMG it's too much.
😎 great list so far. Not sure if you guys have played dune imperium yet. But if you like deck builders and lost ruins of arnak, you’ll probably like dune.
😎 Hello Jenna, Francis, and Penny! Yay I watched the whole video. I keep thinking, I need to try Concordia soon. Team Francis and Penny! Francis has been tricked by Jenna into making two videos on RUclips with this Top 20 Yay!
Love seeing both your faves! 😎 Great video! Love so many of these! Also, for Three Sisters there’s a really good solo variant on BGG that’s not so mean. I read the rules with farmer Edith and didn’t want to play that way and found it and it’s great 😂
You two are so funny and cute together! Really enjoying your list. By the way, I just ordered Everdell and The Whatnot Cabinet because of you, Jenna 😄 Well, tbh, Everdell I've wanted to try for a while, and none of the places I go to play games has it. The Whatnot Cabinet is definitely on you, though 😎
😎You guys have some great games listed! Many of these I have played and loved! There’s a few very well known games though that I’ve never played like 7 Wonders 😅.
Yay for Merchants of the Dark Road. Love this game. It’s super “thinky” and more complex then I thought when I backed. But totally love it. I’m my Top 10 for sure. Also, a fantastic solo mode!
46:37 I DO like Calico. I like it because it is so restrictive - and makes you think. You want to place this color and pattern here, but you also don’t want to place something there, etc.
If you are disappointed/turned off that It's a Wonderful World only goes up to 5, give it a chance. If you like it you can get the Corruption & Ascension expansion which brings it up to 7 players. Also interactivity is a word and totally apt :)
Clank is defenatly better in his "in space" version imho ! Same with parks where I recommand the nightfall expansion giving it just what it needed to have slightly more options with the tents and really better objectives. If you like light games like that, have a look at Little town! It's a blast of an entry level worker placement at 3 and 4 players! I love Cascadia! And really need to try viticulture (the theme is just sooo NOT appealing to me), ever dell and really intrigued by Hadrian wall (but it look sooo heavy for a r&w where I like those type of game to be light) Cheers
It was such a fun night filming with Francis and chatting about our favourite games! I learned some things! Like I didn't know he connects some of his games to his childhood. So cute. 🥺💕
Concordia Venus allows up to 6 but you play in teams of 2, so it would be 2 v 2 v 2, it's a lot of fun! would recommend it if you don't mind playing teams.
Yes the teams is a bit meh for me and I think that is why we haven't purchased it yet. I do know I want to get the solo expansion though! It's at the top of my list! 👏🏻
New subscriber here from Halifax! Really enjoying the channel this morning, watched like 5 videos already! Question 1: is your table topper a carpet material? If yes, what made you choose that option? Question 2: where in Canada are you guys located?
Great list guys! 😎 We love that Francis joined in for the video! We hope he continues to make appearances because we really enjoy the banter between you two!

Can't wait! 😊
Yay for Merchants of the Dark Road. Love this game. It’s super “thinky” and more complex then I thought when I backed. But totally love it. I’m my Top 10 for sure. Also, a fantastic solo mode!
Such a fantastic game! AND THE ART! Andrew Bosley is so talented. 👏🏻 I still need to try the solo! Can't wait!
😎 nice list! I’m looking forward to 10-1!
loved these lists 😎
Loved it.
Great list guys! 😎
Thank you so much Ricky! 😊
😎 great job and list
Great video!
Great picks - can't wait for the top 10! 😎
AHHH CAN'T WAIT! 🥰
46:37 I DO like Calico. I like it because it is so restrictive - and makes you think. You want to place this color and pattern here, but you also don’t want to place something there, etc.
I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing! 😎
So glad Eric! Thank you so much for watching! 😊
If you are disappointed/turned off that It's a Wonderful World only goes up to 5, give it a chance. If you like it you can get the Corruption & Ascension expansion which brings it up to 7 players.
Also interactivity is a word and totally apt :)
😎 great video! Got to try Hadrians wall!
Great video! 😎
And really need to try viticulture (the theme is just sooo NOT appealing to me), ever dell and really intrigued by Hadrian wall (but it look sooo heavy for a r&w where I like those type of game to be light)
Cheers
Can’t wait to see your top 10! 😎
I'm so excited! 😊
Thank you for the video! 😎
Awh thank YOU for watching and commenting! Means a lot! 🥰
😎 It’s nice to have both of you talk about your games!
It was such a fun night filming with Francis and chatting about our favourite games! I learned some things! Like I didn't know he connects some of his games to his childhood. So cute. 🥺💕
Great video! 😎
You guys are so cute!
Can’t wait to see y’all’s top 10!!! 😎
😎😎 can't wait for part 2!!!
❤❤
😎 Love your videos!
As a guest in the garden... What flower is he?
LOL! Hmmmm he wouldn't be a flower. He would be an annoying raccoon trying to steal food from the garden. 😂 I'm so mean.
New subscriber here from Halifax!
Really enjoying the channel this morning, watched like 5 videos already!
