Great video! I would add "The Encyclopedia of Country Living" to this list.

We recently lived through a 27" blizzard. We were without internet and cell phones for three weeks. Not fun! We did have electric so that was good, but it was really tough without internet and phones. In addition to having extra food on hand, I would suggest that people consider owning board games and puzzles and things like that. It can get tedious for sure.

Great ideas! Thanks for sharing this. I can't imagine being stuck 3 weeks... but always good to be prepared!

The Encyclopedia of country living seems like one that many like! We are adding it to our list! Going to take a look at that self-sufficient one. Thank you for watching and your kind words!

With canning, I started with the easy stuff.. strawberry jam, cherry jam, plums.
Then came tomato sauce, with onions and peppers.
Then moved on to the more interesting stuff, like chicken and beef.
Very interesting, and very easy to do, just needs attention and patience.
And yes if you want to be prepared, it is a skill you need to know

You guys should write a book together! It’ll obviously be a 2-5 year project, but I for one would love to buy it.

The dynamics between Gina and Thi is precious.
Gina likes these types of RUclips's.
Thi just wants to get out and physically work....those kinds of RUclips's.
Random question what's Thi's full name?
    ❤️🇨🇦

      Haha! You're so right!!! 🤣❤️
Thi's full name is Thierry... like the soccer player. In Portuguese, it's pronounced... "Tchi-e-rie," that's why the nickname "TCHI" 😅

@@OffGridWithGinaThi oh cool so like Terry (Anglo version), I take it you're from South America tho not Portugal.

@Eirene-vw1dt yes born in Brazil 🇧🇷 ... but wife's parents are from Portugal 🇵🇹 and Brazil 🇧🇷 ... and my mom is actually from Angola, Africa (which also speaks Portuguese but with a different accent) and my grandmother actually lives in Portugal and I've lived in Portugal, Brazil, Angola and South Africa... lol A lot of places!

@@OffGridWithGinaThi very interesting how fluid the world is now.
Certainly Portuguese is spoken in many places (oh those sea faring nations).
You do have that look that is hard to place which I often see in mixed backgrounds.
I was really curious at work about one individual that I could not place! and he said he was part Estonian, part Indian so, again, a look you couldn't immediately narrow down.
Funny though coming from hot countries and going knee deep in the Canadian North.
I grew up in the Sault and spent my whole life missing it.
I'm in my sixties now so who knows....cities were only a means to an end, for me they never felt home...but yeah...working single mom etc etc etc ...
That's why I and so many others watch these RUclips's....we just wish we could do this, lumps and all.
      ♥️🇨🇦
P.S. I also crave privacy, an introvert living in an extrovert environment.
      Totally get it.

Actually, RUclips has helped a lot with our future projects and saved us a lot of money ... not a mistake on our end 😉
