My first processor was a Rocktron Chameleon 2000. My second was a Rocktron Prophesy. And now my Theta Pro DSP is on order and should be in my hands early next week. I haven't been this excited about a piece of gear in a long time.
I just spent three days with the Theta Pro at Gearfest, playing and demoing, them writing presets at night... The tones of this thing are simply amazing. The user interface is simple, the display is big and bright (and blue!), and even though here is a ton of tonal versatility with the Theta Pro, you won't get lost trying to achieve them.
This thing is awesome! Spent some time with the prototype at NAMM... the Theta preamp, a 'Vintage" preamp for lower gain sounds, brilliant speaker sims, incredible effects... you will be blown away!!! GREARFEST!!!!!
Just listened to it in headphones... Amazing repeats and BIG sounds. Chorus by far one the best tri chorus emulator I ever heard , I would pay its msrp price only for that.... Combine that with excellent reverb / delay and its a killer unmatched unit in its price range.
I just found out about these today but I think I'll be saving up to buy one next month somebody obviously did a real quality job on building and what I like is they look fairly simple so that you don't have this gargantuan learning curve to remember
+robert scott Yeah Robert! I bought the Dytronics tri chorus for 2K! I have it in my studio, I hate to admit it but this chorus sounds better to be...It blends better and sounds even prettier...
hi ethan.2k is a good price especially if you mean usa dollars, here in uk ive seen same chorus sell for 3k thats roughly 5k usa dollars so you did well 2k.ethan in this video when using that big sound chorus mixed with distortion is that in factory preset or did you just mix chorus distortion yourself ??
Check out the Fulltone chorus, a remake of the original 80s Dynatronics - will only (lol) set you back $850. I just bought a Theta Pro basically just for the chorus tones which to me sounds prettier to my ears compared to the Dyntronics/TERC (just based on the YT videos out there).
sounds "modeled" .. yes it sounds good.... and its easy to carry and makes life easier so it worth the money and useful in real gigging situations.. I applaud the crew that made it... But if you want that magical response and interaction with the amp... then you have to carry a heavy handmade tube amp to the gig.... and let me tell you after a while when you listen to all these great new generation multi effects they all sound the same and the real tube amp stands out.... having said all that I will probably buy one of these too :) because the audiences are so dumb nowadays its not worth the trouble.... but when I get a "special gig" with a great audience I take out the van and put in the effort and take out my boutique amps and create real magic .... hopefully that will be more often and I can afford roadies :) But the new technology is exciting thats for sure...
+Russ Wilson Russ I have so much gear two women have divorced me because of my gear addiction, busted two discks in my back carrying a mountain of stage gear to over 250 shows a year.. I applaud and buy every new piece of gear that will save my back.. Just bought a Helix it will be here next week... I'm buying one these thetas too!
Sounds very good and one day I know I’ll go to the dark side and retire my vintage amps. But question- it seems they cleverly stuck a couple 412 cabs for us to see to give the impression we are listening to the sound of it “in the room”. But this was recorded direct right? When I can get an “ amp in the room “ experience from one of these things I’ll probably cave in and simply my life
I gotta say..I liked every sound I heard..I've used Alesis..Rocktron..pedals..and I'm currently using a G system w an Engl Fireball 100 and I think this ISP might be better..Hey Buck does it work in a parallel or series amp fx loop?...is it programmable to change your amp's channels??..does it have any loops to use external pedals? If so, it may be a G system rival to consider..As always, Ethan sounds great as well.
+Kevin Cochran Hi Kevin, the unit should work in an effects loop but most players will use it into the return and bypass the entire preamp of the amp head. There are not loops on the THETA PRO, the intent was to make it an all in one unit with the best sound possible. We have several new users who purchased the THETA PRO DSP and they have come back with comments that it is has the best realism of any unit available. Hope this helps. Buck
+Kevin Cochran It does still have midi capability, so you could also run midi controlled pedal loop switchers and amp channel changers. I assume so anyway.
One person in another you tube thread they were really bummed that they couldn't use it via midi with there other gear. It does have midi dump capabilities.
Mr Waller can This unit be used as an interface with a DAW?? Does it have a USB out for recording to a Computer? Thank you for your time. It Sounds Great.
This video was done with one of the early prototypes... Buck and the gang at ISP have gone through and fixed that particular bug (in addition to some others and added improvements across the board). I'm finding new and fun things everyday with my Theta Pro... love it.
Here's another quick demo of the 4x12 Greenback cab sim... ruclips.net/video/5TiGTOPbEkk/видео.html I know it's heavier stuff, but the crunchy stuff sounds awesome too! I'll do one soon!
Gino Martini Hi Gino, thanks for your comment! This is Buck from ISP Technologies and you are correct, we recorded this from the output of a mixer to a CD recorder and then synchronized the CD audio track with the video. The THETA PRO was connected from the direct outputs (XLR) of the THETA PRO to microphone XLR inputs on the mixer so this is what our direct outputs with our speaker sims sound like..
Gino Martini Hi Gino, we are just starting formal production and will be shipping in about 4 to 6 weeks from now. Our distributor in Brazil is Dodo Audrin. I would contact them to see how soon they will have them available. Let me know if you need their contact information. Cheers
Can Buck or Ethan (or anybody) please tell me how you would perform a system update on this unit with no USB port? I'm close to grabbing one of these but I'm curious about updating. Thanks! Hey Ethan, my profile pic was taken at a G. Lynch clinic in Massachusetts a few years ago. I'm actually holding his axe. You were there, but showed up late, slacker ;)
Hahah that's right Ben...The snow storm and traffic didn't help me get there in time! That's a question for Buck...There are midi connections in the unit and I'm assuming that's how the updates will be done. Either way updates or not it's still the best sounding unit out there.
That’s funny cause I’m in the same boat! I love the sound of this unit and hands down I want one! Buuuuuuuuuut what’s killing me LARRY is the no USB port for down loading uploads and if this issue is not addressed I actually will not buy one
Hey all! Here's a quick demo using exclusively the Low Pass Filter Cab Sim of the Theta Pro (it mimics the XLR Cab Sim out you can find on the Theta Rack Preamp, Combo and Head). It's my favorite! Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/BpX6P1noO94/видео.html
That is where the THETA PRO DSP shines. The Intelligent Speaker or speaker sims are amazing. The most realistic of any unit. This is what has been blowing people away especially those who own other units.
Ethan Brosh Hey Ethan. Thank you for bringing these great guitars back into the limelight. Great Demo bye the way, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you. No need to reply. Keep up the great work.
hey Buck, I've always dug your work with ISP, I was wondering if you would like to work with a blues guitarist to demo this Incredible piece of machinery just go to Wayne Reed SoundCloud you'll have me to Jimi Hendrix Red House have a blessed day thank you
Really bad to me. sorry :( i´m using good headphones. Never heard something so bad in the emulation market. Really sorry but this is fortunately not my tone

Love that HM Strat and those BEAUTIFUL vintage LA Session tones!
The clean sounds are amazing in this unit. I have a fractal audio AX8 and the cleans in this make me jealous.
THE BEST CHORUSES I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!
I have the yellow Sweet model and yes the chorus' are great. I never liked chorus before I played ISP DSP!
This thing is awesome! Spent some time with the prototype at NAMM... the Theta preamp, a 'Vintage" preamp for lower gain sounds, brilliant speaker sims, incredible effects... you will be blown away!!! GREARFEST!!!!!

Damn, I'd get this for that chorus alone!
These sound so nice!
I want one real soon!!!
that clean tone sounds exactly like landau tri stereo chorus from the 1980s
+robert scott Landau drives me insane!! I love that man! Im buzzed, Burning waters, Monk, Judy....he just heals my senses!!! Cheers from Morocco
+robert scott Yeah Robert! I bought the Dytronics tri chorus for 2K! I have it in my studio, I hate to admit it but this chorus sounds better to be...It blends better and sounds even prettier...

great demo! I have a question about the boost button. is it located before or after the preamp section? thank you

Have to agree! I'm genuinely impressed.
Can it be set up in the four cable method?
One person in another you tube thread they were really bummed that they couldn't use it via midi with there other gear. It does have midi dump capabilities.
i just purchased the Theta preamp and the power amp, oh my GD. cant wait to afford the Pro. thank GD I live in Michigan. selling pedals any buyers.
Sounds great, does this unit offer any acoustic simulation?
Everything about this is so 80s, except for the pedal itself
that '80 chorus should be mandatory on all multi fx lol
Mr Waller can This unit be used as an interface with a DAW??
Does it have a USB out for recording to a Computer?
Thank you for your time.
It Sounds Great.
Very nice! How much?
It has the Whitesnake 87 tone, right ? PLEASE, Thanks
Is this thing updateable? Will it get updates with new features / new sounds / new models in the future?
+Chris Schneider Yes absolutely...and now the new units have an amazing pitch shifter too!
+Ethan Brosh Do you know when they are going to release this as a downloadable update? I've been having shit luck with their customer service.
I hope they are able to fix the obvious popping noises when switching from a clean tone to a high gain patch. Unit sounds really good otherwise IMHO.
This video was done with one of the early prototypes... Buck and the gang at ISP have gone through and fixed that particular bug (in addition to some others and added improvements across the board). I'm finding new and fun things everyday with my Theta Pro... love it.
i gotta get my hands on one? where can i order the thing?

incredible !!!! this is a direct sound ?

Hi Buck, what about connecting it direct to PA (Dynacord or whatever) but without Amp?
That is where the THETA PRO DSP shines. The Intelligent Speaker or speaker sims are amazing. The most realistic of any unit. This is what has been blowing people away especially those who own other units.
+Buck Waller 7:30
I can simulate this with distortion combined with Rotary Speaker on my ME-50.
I love how the ISP Theta does it much better!
+Buck Waller 7:30
What effect is this?
Hi, next time turn up the micro, when you talk .
+groovy masters I'll keep it in mind ;-)
Don't worry about the microphone Ethan!
Just make sure your guitar is up loud because that is awesome!
awesome, bro ....how much is it ?
Not sure exactly what they go for now but it's worth every penny and still way less expensive than the other ones.
thanks
And another quick one using the 1x12 Creamback cab sim.... ruclips.net/video/kk4rG6IK1wU/видео.html
What guitar is that? It looks pretty good!
Φιλιππος It's a Fender HM Strat. They don't make them anymore :(. Hope this helps, you gotta find them used online, really nice guitars.
Tim Weesner companies always give up their best things, without any reason...
Φιλιππος True. These got dropped in the 90's if I remember right. Another thing to thank Grunge for. They need to bring them back.
Tim Weesner Amen Tim!
Ethan Brosh Hey Ethan. Thank you for bringing these great guitars back into the limelight. Great Demo bye the way, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you. No need to reply. Keep up the great work.
lol wish it was more affordable. it would be nice just to get a theta head
hey Buck, I've always dug your work with ISP, I was wondering if you would like to work with a blues guitarist to demo this Incredible piece of machinery just go to Wayne Reed SoundCloud you'll have me to Jimi Hendrix Red House have a blessed day thank you
Wasted years. Nice
Sounds like going through a real apeaker cabonet? Why not just get a friedman head and be done with it!
NO DJENT = FALE
Can't spell. Tone deaf dickwad.
Feel better now man? I love you.
+Federal Hog Oh yes. Your mom's a good tosser. Thanks.
My mom is not on the planet. So you'll have to toss off to something else.
nope!
3:24 Oh fuck that sounds awful.... Worst tone ever. Hardly even sounds like guitar.
Really bad to me. sorry :( i´m using good headphones. Never heard something so bad in the emulation market. Really sorry but this is fortunately not my tone
