For Arabs 80% depends on what you say and tone. Arabs don't give a f about your body language. We do have a lot of body language signs but those are for long communication or behind someone or for a quick say or for shorten the communication or when you stupid don't understand. Usually Arabs wouldn't be looking even eye to eye that much. Especially if it was between the 2 genders. Eye to eye alot is only with family and close friends. It is also out of respect especially if you are older.
So don't try those tricks in Arab world they will understand what is going on. Also, over there most people they do to some capacity fake it till make it by nature and circumstances.
There is also a higher % of psychopaths and narcissists in some capacity and level than other places around the world by birth naturally. There is too many smart people too proportion wise to other places in comparison in the world.
So you better to not try this in front of an Arab, especially Middleeastern Arab.

Still remember when i was off due with my college project and had my friend do it.
The teacher was pretty confident that my friend did all the work so she decided to question my contribution and information i know about the project.
Just lied my way out confidently with the most vague information i had. Most of my answers were wrong, but the way i worded it in overcomplicated manner, i got full marks.

Like, they asked about the website interface and the code to use for it's construction. I Just said some stuff like "I used block to implement it in the header and liner scheme to implement the display"
When i didn't even knew what those words meant.

I’ve done something on a smaller scale for a long time, at least since middle school, I talk myself up constantly and eventually I ended up being that. I had little confidence but I kept joking how “I’m amazing, I’m awesome” my favorite was always whenever someone said no one’s perfect, I would always respond with “speak for yourself, I’m awesome” eventually that fake confidence turned into actual confidence.

Great video! I think that this is something that more people need to learn, especially amongst the young generations.
Many are plagued with a crippling lack of self confidence.
I jokingly call myself a narcissist because I fake a high self esteem, that forces others and me into perceiving me as someone without self doubts.
I can thank my mother for always praising me and keeping up my self-confidence, giving me what she never received.
There is too much self depreciation and not enough of fake confidence.

Is it really so desirable to create an air of intimidation around you though? Won't faking confidence at all times not alienate others from you? Why put up this distance around yourself from others?
I mean everyone has their own situation and in quite a few scenarios just adopting this "confidence" seems like the best option, but in others... why do you have to seem more powerful than others? It may make you less approachable than before. Also confidence is not worth that much if you can't back it up, some authentic aspect is required

    • @fendeav0r
      @fendeav0r  Год назад +5

@Donghun's beautiful eyes You bring up some good points and I agree with you. I'll try to answer your question in the order you asked.
For the questions: "Is it really so desirable to create an air of intimidation around you though?" and "Why put up this distance around yourself from others?" and "why do you have to seem more powerful than others?"
      - Like you said everyone has their own situation, I think one situation when you want to put up airs of intimidation or create distance from others is when you encounter "toxic people" in your life. I think toxic people feed off of your energy and just leaving you to feel like crap. For some people its easy to cut those peoples out but for others it's not easy, so by creating that intimidating aura through your body language that toxic person might pick up that cue that you don't really like them and slowly pull away from you. It's almost like when your sending or reciveing short text messages, people take short messages as a sign that this person isn't interested in me (of course there are other meanings behind a short text Ex. being too busy atm).
      2. Won't faking confidence at all times not alienate others from you?
      - I'm not too sure if I understand this question fully but if you mean this question as will faking confidence cause other people to always stay around you and not isolate themselves from you then I would say you can't please everyone and this is where you mix your authentic self into your fakeness to attract the people you want to attract. I don't think you should fake it 24/7, but in certain situation in life you might need to, like not alot people are good at public speaking (including myself) but tweaking your body language slightly shifts your thinking into a positive state (at least in my expirence ;))
But damm these are good questions, I wish I could have add some of these thoughts to this video but then again you can't explain everything in one video 😅
      Thanks for commenting this!
