      Haha well I guess the second best time to know about them is now. 😂

    noob tip (as apposed to pro tip) use slotted breads for everything. Its cheaper, and you got a handy little slot to stick lead in to help your fly hang in the right orientation. Yee yee!

    Thanks Alex, for all y’all do and I really would like to get a shirt like you have. What kind and where🤔👍
    But not all the time ya know it’s fishing. You have a lot of good stuff 👍

      Jim! Appreciate it. Most of the hoodies I wear are from Free Fly. Super comfortable, and breathable. Great for lounging around and out on the water. 😎🤙🏽

    Thank you Alex and the whole team. I was always looking at the difference in tungsten and brass as price. I will now look at it regrading current speed and depth.
    Does color really matter? When tying a number of Euro style jig flies I get really creative. Have you tried the spectrum of colors on pheasant tails or hares ear?

      😎🤙🏽
      In our opinion:
      Correct depth > Fly Size > Fly Color
      But there are days when having that pink or gold or orange or silver or copper bead gets the job done better than others. Always fund to play around with.

    Is there an advantage to using beads vs. shot?

    • @venturesflyco
      @venturesflyco  5 месяцев назад

      Split shot is usually last resort as it can decrease the ability to detect strikes. So first, add a bead or switch to bigger bead. Second, add split shot. 😎🤙🏽

    Ive discovered that regardless of how much i spend on them, the colored beads start to flake off their paint after a few drifts...

      Dip in woman's finger nail varnish dry then again. Ready for tieing not chipping.

      @@phillmartin6196I’m pretty sure that covers the hole. If you could thread a wire through it or put it onto a hook, that would work though.

    That's the issue I have. Bought beads and they won't go over the eye or go round the bend.

    can you comment on lead headed jig weights compared to tungsten for weight. Areas I fish typically use 1/32 or 1/64 oz jig weights

    • @venturesflyco

      I’ll be honest. I’m not super familiar with using them. But I’m sure they work. 😎🤙🏽

      @@venturesflyco thanks for the reply...I am new to steel head fishing and mostly using a centerpin or spinning gear in the Erie, PA Tributaries and mostly using weight jigs under a float. Your tying instruction has been very helpful in getting started. Great work by you and you team

    STOP and calipers is known as a vernier & there is a ruler also imperial it is a rule both are technical measuring instruments.
    ( a ruler is a king as Charles 111 )
    Now allow me to be totally honest
    You are all really good worth your weight in gold

    • @dougfett9842
      @dougfett9842 Год назад +1

      A caliper is only a Vernier caliper if it has a Vernier scale for reading the measurement. If it has a dial for reading the measurement it is a dial caliper. If it displays the measurement on a digital display, like the one that Alex used, it is a digital caliper.
