when they released their first full album "THE ALBUM" they are on their peak of their careers and just imagine the hate and bullying these girls received on soc med, but their songs in THE ALBUM are just a big slap in the face for the haters and bullies and Blackpink just getting all their achievements, record after record, sold out concerts and reaching their goals as a group and solo artist

When this came out, Jaws were agape, and Blinks fists were punching the air. Why? BLACKPINK's album "THE ALBUM" was released on August 14, 2020 and was #1 in sales on BILLBOARD 200 GLOBAL and #2 on BILLBOARD 200 USA, and was also #25 among the top 50 albums in the world in 2020 according to BILLBOARD. , and it is the highest critical position that a kpop album has achieved in the entire history of BILLBOARD, the album only has 8 songs and is the group's first complete album.
And yet, despite all the records broken, getting high on the charts and people talking about how good they were, both The Album & Born Pink didn't win album of the year at any of the rigged Asian award shows.

I admit I was one of the 250+ million online viewers that watched their Coachella performance, not just one weekend but both. I did wish I could have been one of the 110+ thousand in the audience. Either way I lost my mind when they added the chair routine at the end. Although they were not the first kpop group to perform at Coachella, they are the ones that paved the way for others to perform there.
2024 Coachella (APRIL 12 - 14 & 19 - 21) will have 3 kpop groups perform on, not on the main stage, but smaller surrounding stages. It's ok, we will take that exposure.
• *ATEEZ* (male group) will perform noth Fridays
• *LE SSERAFIM* (you know) will perform both Saturdays
• *THE ROSE* (male band) will perform both Sundays
K-pop is definitely a global industry at this point, no denying it.

I was in the audience of Coachella 2023 weekend 2 specifically to see Blackpink. I camped out for 12 hours at barricade to get a good view of the girls. Please watch Typa Girl and Shut Down from Coachella 2023 too! I've seen Blackpink 3 times (including Coachella), but Coachella's set list was incredible to see in person!

This is one of BLACKPINK'S songs that actually disses the MANY HATERS. This song become one of their most noticeable songs on their first album "The Album" esp Lisa's lines about being born a "skinny bih" which btw so many people talk about her weight and here she finally clapped back. A lot of ppl used to assume so many things about why or how she was so skinny so that is one of Lisa's most iconic clapbacks tbh. Also, their performance the song ofc does change as many of theirs do during LIVE performances which we loveee. However, the coachella version is also slightly diff too in how they perform it
Now you need to do the same thing with Typa Girl. Lyric video and then Coachella. You'll love it! I promise!

"The Album" was, indeed, BP announcing that they were done with the haters and that they were going to just do what they do, and they have done just that. The best way to shut up critics/haters is to succeed, and BP has continued to set records and accomplish things that no other girl group has ever accomplished before. This album was the groundbreaking for the haters cemetery. ;)
Adding that, from here on out, the lyrics are far more important, since they deal with more serious issues, so Lyric videos for songs that don't have subtitles are a good idea.
This was another level from what we've seen so far. They were great before but this just had that attitude we hadn't yet seen.

For me the theme statement in this song is Rosé's line "I wish you would fly higher as the rainstorm blows stronger"...admonishing haters to take the high road in the midst of all the jealousy and negativity.

With all due respect, what Jisoo sings in that song is not a rap, because it has a melody, the same melody that the song has. She has been mistakenly called rap as a result of a program in which they do tests to leave a room and in a test they ask Jisoo to rap, and she interprets phrases from this song making rapper gestures. Raps have almost no melody, it is always the same tone with very few variations, it is speaking quickly in a song, but without melody. The only rap in this song is from Lisa when she sings: "all my diamonds they yellow..."

@@YANKEERC Ariana Grande, raps some phrases in that song. Only the ones that don't have a melody. The rest of the phrases have a melody, can be played with a piano and are recognizable. Raps played on a piano are playing a single note all the time with very few variations.
The piece I mentioned from Lisa: "All my daimonds they yellow or bright" is the same note, only "white" changes and the following phrase is the same: "Got'em blind can't find me I'm outta" in the same note and go up in "sight". And the next sentence is the same: it only changes to "alike." That's the rap of that song. The rest are melodies.

💪PRETTY SAVAGE is spectacular, and ROSÉ's🌹 voice, ufff it kills me, I hope they react later to the SBS version INKIGAYO has 332 million views and is the most viewed premiere stage in the history of kpop, PRETTY SAVAGE is equal to or better than one main song, in fact all BP songs are so good that they could be main songs, my favorites from this album are: CRAZY OVER YOU, PRETTY SAVAGE, LOVE TO HATE ME, LOVESICK GIRLS AND YOU NEVER KNOW, this last one is totally different to all of them because it is sad but its lyrics, voice and melody are a work of art.

As their name suggests, Blackpink is such a dichotomy. They performed in front of 125,000 people at Coachella with another 250M watching online and showed all their confidence and attitude and then as soon as they came off-stage they turned straight back into the shy humble people they are, all bursting into tears, (except for Jisoo of course) worrying about their performance. You will see if you get to Born Pink Memories (BPM) rolls.

This is a group that has come of age. They have always had the talent, and now they have the maturity, the experience, and the world-wide popularity that gives them the power to take charge of their own destiny... and that confidence shows in their carefree attitude during their performance. So happy for them.
I'm v. impressed by your accurate tracing and good understanding of BlackPink's amazing growth, progression and sentiment/situation. I'm also impressed by your ability to develop an understanding and appreciation of Kpop generally in such a short time. Quite a few of BP songs such as D4, Pretty Savage, How You Like That etc. partially came about as a reflection of their experiences with haters. Considering the extremely toxic and competitive nature of Kpop, our brilliant and amazing girls had handled it pretty well. It's plain to see why they're constantly facing extreme bullying, ridiculous accusations and malicious deeds from haters (those immature, threatened and jealous rival fans) from almost every group and quarters across the entire spectrum of the Kpop industry. These haters had often pretended to be Blinks and "solo-stans" just to carryout their agenda to stop and destroy BlackPink and Blinks and even RUclips reactors included😅. Those Blinks who understand Kpop and the girls long enough are not blinded nor fooled by these haters. I was online both weekends too and it was crazy. In addition to the new set that later served for the rest of the world tour, they reformed the music of all the songs, making them even more attractive. They reformed all the choreographies, with changes as great as in this song and in Typa Girl, and they added a new group of dancers who also accompanied them for the rest of the tour. The investment in this performance was enormous but they paid for it well with the rest of the tour.

The line distribution videos are really good because it helps you absorb the song and lyrics a bit more, and it helps to ensure you don’t miss when one member does adlibs, or in the case of other groups like Red Velvet, you won’t miss when they layer their vocals

I've watched this video 8 or 9 times so far because I am getting a big kick out of watching the expressions on your faces...no need for words to let us know how you feel about what you're seeing. It may be important also to remember that for most of the last year these ladies have been out on the road...huge multi-city world tour, Coachella, a couple of other special concerts in England and France...no new music to speak of as a result, but grown tremendously as live performers taking responsibility for "bringing it" night after night.

Great reaction as always. This was definitely the point they realised how amazing they are and started being themselves and going past the normal kpop “style” I guess you could say.
Look’s like that’s where you are headed but their song “tally” while being a slower song they push it even further.
Of course they aren’t as good, but rosé and Jisoo can rap surprisingly well. Plenty of short clips of them rapping in rehearsals and Jisoo has done it when Jennie went off stage sick.
But they are all spread out. If anyone has a vid showing a bunch of them together I’d love a link.
Blackpink are Pretty and savage during live performance, i also wonder how weird if fans only like their bias but not the whole group. This Coachella performance was perform on the main stage, so the capacity audience was crazy.

I was really curious what direction Jisoo would go in once they announced her solo. I expected a slow ballad and was glad to be wrong, I am really proud she found her own sound that isn’t just a BP song.

Not really a fan of them but good for them for being at the right place at the right time and capitalizing their fame in this social media/tiktok/spotify era along with BTS and gathering millions of fans worldwide. Their edgy/angst and intense, aggressive style and stage gimmicks really cater to the US crowd, but I can say not so much in Korea as they're really not that recognized as one of the beloved groups in there compared to others. Don't get me wrong, they're very talented and I'm happy for them, but when it comes to talent, I've seen better from the likes of Red Velvet, TWICE, and GFRIEND (and I've been listening to Kpop for over a decade). They just didn't have the same fan following, but talent wise, they certainly up there, if not above BP.
That's what's great about art such as music. It appeals to everyone differently.
