Even over here thanks to the demise of Holden parts are getting a lot harder to get especially for a model that age. With me being an older fella and after building cars and bikes for some 45 years and my beast becoming the money pity it was I thought it was time for it to go. You think it was a mistake now but give it time you might still miss it but you’ll get over it.

i love this video, espesially your naration, job well done, you should do one now on our hot six small cars like the torana 6 xu1 with triple strombergs, there is the cortina with the 250 and 250 2v [supposidly 170hp], leyland marina with the p76 6cly motor, and of course the chrysler centura with it,s with it,s 265 hemi, all real power junkies in their day, all my mates had some version of these, most had cams and such, we used to race at a little industrial estate estate most weekends, those six banger little cars would easily outrun most v8,s, i had a xp falcon 250 2v six it would beat a e49 charger right up till last 20yards they,ed only beat me by a guard, back then that was quick, e49 was fastest animal over quarter mile 14 seconds odd, my favourite was my mates chrysler centura witn a e49 charger 265 triple weber, it was a real weapon, even with big feet heavier springs etc it was very unstable cornering at speed, really got the heart pumping, oh great times

Later versions of the Torana, e.g. Torana SLR 5000 or the Torana A9X came standard with V8s and were also popular winners at Bathurst and other touring car races throughout Australia. Gawd, even your opening blurb about the XR is wrong - the first Aussie 'muscle car' was the '66 VC V8 (Note: it's not labled 'Valiant' or 'Regal')
The Pacer variants of the VF and VG predated the Charger as the factory performance six cylinder Muscle Cars.
The 'Supercar Scare' was never a government 'ban', it was a media beat up by the headline seeking newspapers and TV of the time. It's why the E55's engine was de-tuned and the 4-speed manual replaced with an Automatic.

And all the latest and last of the Holden's and fords had to offer such as the GTSR W1 or the falcon GT335, and the Force 6 turbo Ford Barra models were also insane, all the final evolution of these earlier models after nearly 40 years of production.

@qmusclecars SLR torana, had 2 of them myself and 2 ss hatchback toranas along with many other now very desirable and rare cars including a few 1 of 1 factory order builds purchased and driven over the years. XD falcon fairmont ghia 351 manual in white was a nice 1 of 1, hz gts wagon with premier front was another plus many others including kitted up VR/VS commodore ex police interceptor V8's we purchased at auction for 15-20k, put the Wayne Gardner body kit on them and sold them for 30k looked as good as the gts of the time. South Australia had VL interceptor V8's in horrible spearmint blue (no not batmobile wilkinshaw blue either) but they got the brock 4.9 litre race motor's in them so they went like stink! VL calais turbo with the nissan skyline motor are a rare and wonderful thing also very desirable. Then there's the later Monaro's and coupe 4 by HSV, all wheel drive Avalance wagons and Apache dual cab utes with LS1 powering all wheels AMAZING, but that's another video all together i would suggest.

Yes the XR GT was development of police cars. The engines on all but GTs were 289 2 barrel Vee Eight engines. 289 XRs were quite common.
XT GT had standard XT disc brakes. Like the Holdens of the period the brakes were poor. The vented discs on XW XY were a little better. This is ofcourse all in hindsight. And yes I have owned these cars.
Ph 2 GTHO was an XW model, an update mid model with the 351C engine instead of the 351 W engine.
XY GTs came as a std GT Falcon then the GTHO which still had 300hp,,, officially. Around 380hp would be closer.
LC XU1 was the first,, your pic was an LJ. Same basic car but different grille and the original XU1 was a triple 1.5" Stromberg carbs on a 186S. 71 Bathurst LC was a more developed 186, more power and close ratio gearbox. Lj XU1 was 202 with the close ratio box. Bathurst LJs were a nasty little beast.
Chargers you have screwed up totally. Charger was released in 71, everything from a 215 3 speed to V8 auto. The RT was 218hp 2bbl 265 engine. Then came the six packs. E37 was about 260hp 265S with triple 45mm Weber carbs. E38 was 285hp well developed engine with Webers and close ratio 3 speed gearbox!! Supply of 4 speeds initially was restricted to Ford. Then the E49 with 302hp, close ratio 4 speed etc etc. Very fast cars. Faster over the 1/4 than a GTHO. E55 Chargers were 2bbl 360ci torque monsters but slow. 250hp.
Sandman utes and vans were never muscle, just a nice package on a V8 ute or van. They had 253 and 308 engines with auto or 4 speed
Leyland Force 7 so you show a Torana!! LX A9X 4 door. Force 7s were never sold. As far muscle, never, The engines were an ok street engine but had no more power than a Falcon 6!
The A9X was a weak wristed pollution motor in a half decent chassis. You missed the 74 L34 Torana that was capable of good power. Not however in showroom form. That was the engine used in the A9X. The L34 had a weak gearbox, weak diff and drum rear brakes. The A9X resolved all of that and with the engine mods allowed for racing was a quick thing and reliable.
The Falcon Cobra again was a homolgation special. Same as the Torana. Stock they did not go. Cobras were 77 and you could still buy a new couppe in 79 at the end of the XC model. They ever only raced coupes,, because the big fat arse would fit wider tyres than the 4 door. And they came in white with blue stripes only!

E-55's weren't 360's- they were the better 340's specially imported for racing but got detuned and auto'd because the supercar scare. 360's were around from 71 onwards, optional in any valiant.

XR GT Falcon, all painted gold but 1 that was white.
You missed the XT GT Falcon.
GTHO 1 and GTHO 2 were XW Falcons, The GTHO 3 was a XY Falcon. A GTHO 3 now sells for $1,100,000 AUD
    I had a 1974 Charger, 265 HEMI auto.
The worlds first Ute was made by Ford Australia in 1934 and was made every year till July 2016.
The XC Falcon Cobra came with a 5.8 and 4.9, never had a 5.0
1988 HSV sell for up to $950,000 AUD
The car you are calling a Falcon Tickford is just a stock V8 Ford AU Fairlane The blue car was a AU Falcon XR8 TE-50, All AU1 & AU2 Fairlanes had the 4L Tickford or 5.6L Tickford, but the Fairlane was not as fast as the AU TE-50 due to been a bigger car with much more weight, for the upper market
The AU TE-50 Falcon sell for around $180,000 AUD and the AU Fairlane sells for around $5,000 for a good one.
I'm not trying to be a smartarse, But I am Australian who loves his Fords and has owned 3 AU Fairlanes, 1x5.6L 2x4L. I do understand that you are not Australian and would have never seen any of the cars before and if you're not told you will never know.

In September 1998 the AU falcon came out, the first time a muscle car was stanard in ute form, din't take long for Holden to do the same thing making the Holden SS ute to take on the Ford Tickford XR8, same drive train as the sedans. by 2001 some nut said time to go racing
