I prefer a dark green tent and your Cloud Up2 seemed to have better features, including 4000HH as opposed to the 2000HH on this new one and the sunny yellow interior which was so cheerful, but we all like different things hey and as long as you’re happy. Good, detailed review, thanks for sharing.
I like dark green in tents but also like the Khaki as well… decisions decisions 😂 To be honest, the Pro version is new to market and as I had sold my older Cloud up2 I’ve been fancying a return to one and when I saw the new version thought it would be good to buy and review early.. it’s clearly a better weather tent so for me one I’ll use in summer or if travelling to warmer climes.. although i am planning a winter camp just to see how it performs 😊 👍🏻
Cheers from Norway. Thanks for taking time from your schedule to share with the curious. Not many reviews at this point and time. I own an upgrade coud up 2 with snow skirts. Somehow, i have the same inner tent with less mesh as the new pro has.. Quite pleased with it as a treeline winter overnighter .Was Purchased a little over a year ago. The Pro doesn't fit my climate. Your thorough review solidified this fact.
@@kruz2727ify I’m looking at travelling through Norway, either this or next year, probably meander over a few weeks and just take time for some wild camping and back to nature!
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.. it’s very much a warmer weather tent but good for that. One of the tents I have for colder weather, certainly UK climate, is the Robens Buck Creek2 which I rate highly although now discontinued…very quick erecting with exoskeleton frame and solid inner! Also have. Robens Voyager 2ex which is also a fantastic UK winter tent but a bit big on pack size for me.

I've considered a Robins due to the price point vs. quality received. Not so popular over here. But, known in certain circles. My winter go-to has been Helsport. Little hefty but has stood up to many storms. The Helsport has buckled down and touched my chest and nose on two occasions with no pole or material fatigue. The Cloud up is a great all-around tent in general because of price . It's a well made tent with no complaints. Hope you enjoy your visit to Norge. Bring your alcohol stove as a suggestion. Rød Sprit / denatured alcohol is avaliable at every gas station, sports shop, and grocerie store in Norway. Makes things much easier for you. Cheers, and subscribed.
@@kruz2727ify interesting about the Robens, to be fair I don’t like paying above about £400 for a tent but never say never! I also had the Naturehike Cloud up2 (standard) out in a full blown storm where the tent buckled all night like your experience but like yours no damage, which for a cheap tent was amazing… it was so bad all electric cables in the area were down and the owners of the pub campsite I was stopping at gave me a key to the pub in case I had to abandon through the night!!!
Thanks for the tip on alcohol stoves, I have the Trangia but only use gas adapter, however I do intend trying alcohol out soon now I gave an incentive… many thanks and any other tips grateful accepted 👍🏻
@@thecampingbiker791 I wouldn't trust my Nature Hike in a Norwegian storm. Hence,, the trusted Helsport as described. But, thankful for your feedback from experience. NH.. is a sweetheart for the cost.

I love my cloud up 2. It's the only tent I've ever had that's paid for itself through use, just because it's so simple. Must have done 30 nights in it now.
@@soggybawsmoto I used my Cloud Up2 on lots of occasions and year round, eventually sold it as I had so many tents and wanted some more but forgot how good they are! This new one isn’t widely available yet but I just knew I had to have it and been on couple of trips since initial filming..loving it all over again 😊

I just ordered the star river 2 2024 UL (ultralight) edition that just released, same materials as this (pegs, poles and fly). It's the same weight as the original cloud up 2.👌🏻

How do you rate the Star River 2 UL?
It's nice, the poles are definitely an upgrade, lighter but sturdier also, the fly is nice, a little stretchy due to the material but that's to be expected, it's nice and spacious and overall a really nice tent, it feels as though it should cost way more than it does.

For UK camping I picked an Opalus 3. Weight on the bike no problem and outer and inner pitched together because it does rain quite a bit here.
Inner first is a negative point, weight doesn’t matter and space is non existent on that tent. We can afford a bit of comfort as we aren’t backpacking surely. Time to put up isn’t really an issue unless it’s throwing it down, then inner/outer pitched together is a massive plus. If you have a checklist of any description a small lightweight backpacking tent doesn’t tick any boxes.
@@davidgidman7561 good tents the Opalus, love the end that rolls up for more air flow.. the good thing about reviewing tents (at least that’s what I tell my wife when a new one arrives 😂) is I get to have a selection for use but still like my smaller versions most of the time.. have got a couple of nice Robens, one a tunnel tent which is great for the winter wind and rains
Very interesting. I have a cloud up 2 and love it, perfect for moto camping, didn’t think I’d need to go lighter weight TBH. This does look good though
@@marcusrichardson3472 I’ve had a couple of nights in it and off tomorrow, will be giving further feedback in next week or two but I’m very impressed with it but then I did like the standard Cloud Up2
@@marcusrichardson3472 yes, good tents these Cloud Ups and the slight weight saving on this version isn’t the biggest deal, but the redesign on door area is quite good and the colour is very nice👍🏻

Nice tent. I've decided I'm not gonna buy another tent if I can't easily sit in a chair in it, just doesn't make sense when on the bike as the weight isn't an issue and the extra comfort just makes complete sense. That said the 2 I have bought recently were both well under 2.5kg so I don't think you're making any compromise. When I saw your Opalus 2 review I was impressed with that, great admin space, but bought my Vango Xenon 2+ off of that - I'm surprised you don't use that more, one of Naturehikes best tents I think. @@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 yes, for lightweight and small pack size it’s very good plus space is reasonable for a light tent..these type are useful if moving day to day, which is mostly what I do, but I do get the sitting inside and still have that capability with the Robens Buck Creek2, which has effectively become my winter tent. As I buy tents to review some have to go eventually and the Opalus was sold.. I’ve also got the Robens Voyager2 another tunnel tent and although an excellent tent I’d only use it for a winter base camp over a few days..just find them more time consuming to put up and take down!
@@thecampingbiker791 I did a test to see how quickly I could set up my MSR access 1 Vs my Xenon 2+ and the Xenon was quicker, only by a few seconds, but it proved a point, that bigger isn't necessarily slower to put up take down, the design makes a big difference - and when it was slower Vs other tents it was only by 2 mins max. The stress of living in little tents during long winter nights especially in bad weather I just don't feel it's worth the 2 mins. I obviously get that some just have a preference, I always like to sound people out the to see if I've missed something 👍

naturehike makes nice affordable tents. Well thought out. I,m using the star river 2. Little bit bigger and haevier but it has more space.
@@vtrrookie1 they do indeed, I nearly bought the star river 2 but this new one came out and thought it good for an early review before it becomes more widely available but never say never as i like to swop and change, mainly for the channel and not because of tent addiction of course 😂

I would prefer my Cloud Up 2 upgrade only improvement it needs would be the inner door not being all mesh
@@davidanness6180 the inner door is much better on this version but I wonder if the standard Cloud up2 will get the door upgrade or they just run with this!
Would you say the tent can be used in summer aswell, or has it too much fabric and is too warm?
@@vitowakim6166 i would say it’s a perfect tent for summer, plenty of air can get under the flysheet and plenty of mesh.. obviously it all depends on where in the world it’s going to be used but it could be used without the fly so plenty of air circulation and indeed could be used as a standalone fly only without inner tent! As said, depends on country using it in, here in UK it’s perfect 👍🏻

I’m very interested in purchasing this cloud up 2 pro but when I go on the naturehike website even clicking on the link in description I only see the nature hike cloud up 2 for sale not the pro. The only place I can see to purchase this item is Ali Express and that actually states the tent is in fact the cloud up 2 pro. I’ve never purchased from Ali express so not sure if I will do.
When you purchased your tent from naturehike did the website actually say cloud up 2 pro or just cloud up 2.
@@J.C9033 I bought mine from a retailer on Ali Express, first time for me! Good experience, quick and as described, coincidentally I’ve just been in contact with Naturehike and they haven’t started selling the tent directly from their website but will be doing so soon… They started selling via retailers first and I suspect it’s a good way to test the market, particularly in the East. I use a Slumit Cub 2 flash frame, up in 30 seconds, brilliant. I ride alone so goes on the back seat, cant be arsed with poles. If it was pissing down you would be soaked setting that up.
@@mikehurley5052 thanks for watching, I don’t normally have that much of a problem and if need to just put fly up first get in and attach inner from inside… simples! Or just go into pub for a pint or two and wait for rain to ease off 😂

@@JohnRichardson-v2l it’s all about the camera angle 😂 yes, had a couple of nights and off out again tomorrow.. nice roomy quick up/down and with compression bag could pack very small.. any recommendations on sites north or south of the Humber?
