Awe! Poor Pedro! He's still adorable! I loved this video! My short haired pigs actually love being brushed. When they see me pull out the brush they run over all excited. They especially love their little faces brushed😊
I have used all the videos for my new Guinea pigs. You are such a good creator. You have a balance of teaching us things as well as being really entertaining with little editing of the Guinea pigs thoughts. Thank you so much.
I would love to see a video about skinny pigs. I was thinking about getting one to add to the two short hairs I have now. Your videos are extremely informational. Keep them coming! 😄
Thanks Sarah. I have Truffle who is our only long haired piggy out of the group. She’s a Coronet and funnily enough I gave her a haircut today as she was looking very wild and woolly! Unfortunately she hates it and I have to hold her with one hand and trim with the other or she’s off like lightning! My smooth haired piggies are generally much more calm I would say. They’re all of course wonderful and unique little personalities though aren’t they? Pedro and Callie looked adorable cuddled up together- they look like the best of friends 🥰 so sweet xx
I have 2 silkies and have to give them regular baths and cuts, take a lot of care as they fight me all the way I come away needing a shower myself with all the stress and sweating from nerves haha
I currently have a American crested guinea pig named Daisy and a tricolor short haired piggy named Missy. I am thinking of getting a third and maybe even a fourth Guinea pig so this was very helpful! I am kinda thinking of trying a long haired or mabey getting some solid colored smooth haired piggy! 😀
I was about to say that you forgot hairless pigs lol! I don't have one (I have a smooth named Google and a coarse named Bing) but it might be a neat video if you did one on the hairless pigs!
First time Guinea Pig owner & I certainly through myself into the deep end by adopting a Peruvian x, Wilbur. I haven't bathed him yet, groom him nearly every day during cuddle time. His cage mate , Ptolemy is a Ridgeback. Little brush now & then seems fine.
hi!i was wondering if you could please do a daily routine video as you now have callie!❤️❤️ by the way your guinea pigs are so so so adorable and cute!!
I have 6 piggies, I got two around the same time, both long haired Guinea pigs. I will never do that again. It’s a lot more work, they both always get wee stained bums, going to get the vet to show me how to maintain their bums, as they’re constantly dirty, and get Matts when life gets busy and I haven’t been able to care for them like I usually do.
I have a teddy and find that they need more work; they need to be brushed often, their skin gets dry more easily and their ears need to be cleaned regularly because of the shape they get dirty easily. But it’s all worth it for their amazing personality 😊
I have two sheltie boars and genuinely didn't realise how much goes into grooming and trimming them (and also how much they shed!) I wouldn't change them for the world and I do love that groom time with them (even if they aren't as thrilled by it) but I definately think if I expanded my herd I'd go for short haired or swiss piggies as the upkeep can be stressful and time consuming especially if you're new to piggies! Definitely agree it makes forming a bond harder if they associate handling with detangling and cutting matted clumps (ours usually get these in their armpits/groin regularly) and our boys are VERY lazy groomers!
I would like if you would do a video about grooming. We have one long haired piggie, first time owners and any tips would be welcome. I love your channel - many useful information :)
2 videos in one week! Awsome! If I would get guinea pigs, i would get 2 females, one teddy, and one silky piggy. But this video is really helpful! 🐹🐹🐹 ~Beatrise
I used to have a coronet. He was such a beautiful boy and had the best personality. But I will stick to smooth hairs now because it is a lot of work. I didn't have any health issues with him and he grew to a very old age, but my piggies have always been indoor pigs
my Phoebe has long hairs that come from behind her ears and the hair on her head curls behind her ears and her bum has a bit long hair and her hair goes straight down her but also curls like to her side so she is shorthaired but I think she has some long haired relatives like maybe she is a bit of a mix breed its so cute I have photos of her face and you can just see long hairs sticking out from her ears she looks so silly its adorable I wish I could show photos 😁🥰
i have a sheltie who does seem to enjoy brushing/combouts he almost pushes into the comb.... untill it hits his hip-butt area then he complains. we just did a trim i dont let him get to long but sometimes he surprizes me with out much hair he is hiding. his is a little different than a peruvian i had before were the tips of the hair on his sides curl up/out so he actually doesnt brush along the ground its really cute.
Aw. Bless poor Pedro getting trimmed. I had the same thing a few years ago, had a sheltie guinea pig with gorgeous long fur, unfortunately his baby brother decided to nibble it so bye bye long fur. Great video as always 🙂
I just love watching you and your piggies!!!! I did not know about Barbering and I just Rescued two baby piggies about two months ago. I noticed that my two long-haired guinea pigs had places where it was short and wondered what was going on. After watching your video it makes perfect sense what’s happening thank you so much
My first piggies growing up were smooth hair but I did have a long hair names Cookie who looked like a batch of double chocolate chip cookie dough. She was the oldest we had and passed at the ripe age of 10 in her sleep. We also had a albino named Snowball who did not like anyone but me holding her. Now jump to list last December and my family adopted 2 smooth hair sisters from the humane society and those 2 girls are very spoiled.
I still don't know the breeds of mine (have had them 2 years).. one is rough and other is Abyssinian like but soo soft (especially after the dreaded bath). Both get hair clipped a few times a year to stay manageable. Hard work but worth it.. it's the nails i struggle with with all the face fur getting in the way
Hi! I have been following your channel for a while. My piggies are short-haired boys named after the ice cream flavors they resemble: Chocolate and Neapolitan, but we call him Neo. These guys are lazy and messy. Neo has black nails on one foot so I can’t see the quick. How can I trim the nails on this foot without fear of hurting him?
I had a black female name bitsy and a fried garlic male bugsy when I was in elementary school I always squeak and people thought there was a guinea pigs
I need help, appreciate any advice. I have 2 guinea pigs I got in May and they absolutely hate being picked up and the one won't let me pet her. I have cut their nails and once they are in my arms they are generally okay but its just seems so stressful in the process of picking them up. The one chatters her teeth when I try to pick them up and as much as I try not to chase them, they run and hide from me and I find it difficult to get them in my hands. The place i got them from i dont think had them picked up often or around people a lot. The times I have picked them up I feel like it's just so stressful for them and I feel like a bad piggie owner. I love them so much and I really just want to give them a good home and take good care of them. They seem generally happy, they come out for floor time and will come to me to get veggies but any movement that makes them think they might be picked up they scatter. Any advice?
most piggies hate the picking up part - it's just their prey animal nature. I have two 2yr old boars who still won't willingly be picked up - and i pick them up every day... best bet would be to herd them into a fleece tunnel or similar and pick them up in that?
Another downside of long-haired piggies from a coat standpoint is that their chins/beards can become easily stained orange or yellow or green from the veggies they eat. Our beautiful black and white Abby constantly has an orange beard, which her roommate enjoys barbering (probably because the fur is flavored). I can wash it with a chin bath, but there is still an orange tinge even after a good scrub - and then it’s dirty again after a veggie meal or two 😩
unscented baby shampoo or go to saskia from los angles guinea pig rescue she has videos of how she washes and cuts long hairs and has her own amazon list of stuff she uses on her guinea pigs
Great video! It was sweet to see Callie and Pedro snuggled up together. 💞Also nice to see a bit of Lyra in the video.🥀
Awe! Poor Pedro! He's still adorable! I loved this video! My short haired pigs actually love being brushed. When they see me pull out the brush they run over all excited. They especially love their little faces brushed😊
I'm getting guinea pigs soon, and your videos really help :) I also love seeing Callie, she's adorable!
i'm sure you will be a great guinea pig owner!🤗😘
This will be helpful for new owners!
I used to have an Abyssinian years ago, now I’m hooked. They’re great for someone who wants a fluffier pig but without the long spa sessions.
My first guinea pig was a long-haired girl I named Ami. Forever will I have a loving obsession for the potatoes with long-locks!🥰😇
🥰

I loved seeing Pedro cuddling with Callie!💖
Adorable Guinea pigs. Lovely gal. What’s not to love?!?
Watch all your videos and you helped us a bunch with our new piggies. As a space nerd I love the shirt.
Thank you!! :D
I really wish I had a piggy like Pedro. He’s so cuteee!!!
Again a great video. I always have to smile with the comments of your piggies, that is sooo funny 😄

Omg, I love your hair!
I currently have a American crested guinea pig named Daisy and a tricolor short haired piggy named Missy.

My first Guinea pig is a long haired and I got him from a rescue luckily he likes being clean so helping him out isn’t very difficult
I love how cute Pedro and Callie are together ❤️
Hii!Umh...sorry for asking but...what's the name of the squeak sound effect you put when the piggies "talk"?...I've been searching it for days...
Aww poor Pedro and the lost fringe 😊
Okay, I love the fact that your piggies are named Phoebe and Roxxi! #Bratz
I would love to have a Guinea Pig, as soon as I can get a place for myself one day
I was about to say that you forgot hairless pigs lol! I don't have one (I have a smooth named Google and a coarse named Bing) but it might be a neat video if you did one on the hairless pigs!
I love the names for your piggies. That's so cute!
Great video very informative! Love your piggies
I have a little aby and he's so fun

We got a Swiss piggie a few weeks ago, she's going to need a little haircut round the back soon!

My short haired piggy has been nibbling on the fur of her long haired sisters, I think she’s jealous of their luscious locks 😂
Thanks
Thank you Maz!

Loved that video! Thank you! I also have a long-haired guinea pig: it's a Peruvian. How often are they supposed to get a bath?
Aw. Bless poor Pedro getting trimmed. I had the same thing a few years ago, had a sheltie guinea pig with gorgeous long fur, unfortunately his baby brother decided to nibble it so bye bye long fur. Great video as always 🙂
Thanks so much and its the curse of long haired pigs haha! 😆
@@SqueakDreams it certainly is. Lol

Question my long haired guniea pig has gresey hair near her bottom what should I do
Pedroooo 😹
I always wondered why abbys were calledrough haired, and then I got my first American... Plain Jane guinea pigs are very very soft.
3:57 that doesn’t really sound like a con tbh. Just a matter of preference
What about the hairless bald ones?
🤩

Well they never have a bad hair day
for smooth haired guinea pigs will you ever have to cut their hair?
Nope you will not 😊

Is Pedro a silky???
Go to pets at home and do a big shop and do a haul in what you got
Additional note about barbering: some piggies who do this will also do it to your hair 😳 I used to have a pig who was like this.
Haha, Phoebe will do it to my hair if I let her, I think she's the culprit!
What do I give my long haired a bath with
unscented baby shampoo or go to saskia from los angles guinea pig rescue she has videos of how she washes and cuts long hairs and has her own amazon list of stuff she uses on her guinea pigs
also some people use dawn soap like the soap they say you can get grease off animals like ducks but I don't use it just other options
Scottys Animals uses Head & Shoulders, good for treating ringworm too!
You said that Pedro died 🤔😢😢😢😢
No she didn
💗💗🐹💗
So...my piggies never barber one another but love to barber me instead.
Dont they need their long fur for winter time 🤣🤣🤣
