How to Make a 1/8 in metal sign DXF file using Flashcut CNC software

Learn how to cut a metal sign from a silhouette image using Flashcut CNC software. Watch a step-by- step video that shows and explains how to prepare the dxf file and see how the PNC-12 Extreme, a cnc plasma cutting machine cuts a deer head and letters out of metal.
In this particular video, to cut the 1/8 in plate, we used a Hypertherm powermax 85 plasma system set to a 45 amp process; the 45 amp process was used because it showed us the best cut quality out of the 3 choices available (45, 65, and 85 amp).
The cut speed was 110 inches per minute and the total amount of time it took to cut this part was 17 minutes.
In addition, due to the quality of air we used in combined with the proper cut speeds, the grind time was shortened drastically. We were able to finish the part front and back with a grinder in roughly 1 minute.

Hi, thank you so much for these vids, I am very new to all this and have a very similar machine to yours - when I use the starcam drawing program to draw a part and save as a dxf file to my thumb drive and then insert the thumb drive into the port on the controller for the cnc plasma cutter and follow your instructions above is will not recognise the file or file format - what file format etc etc do you use and what do you save the file as - I would truly appreciate it if you can help - thanks - Tom

He is using GCODE file format to save. It will be recognized by your machine.
