Pvc is crap. All of that plastic stuff is crap. You will be lucky if it lasts 10 years.
It is the most used for pressurized water sir
@@Mrinventor93 that certainly doesn't mean that it's good. It's just cheap and after 10 years starts to fail. Cracking, breaking and glue getting old and failing. You see it every day.
@@Kacee2 I understand that point, friend, but people use it the most and I find that in several houses here 😥
@@Mrinventor93 oh I understand what you are saying. The crap is virtually everywhere. It's just crap though.
@@Kacee2 I already know friend 😥
I’ve been a plumber over 44 years, don’t do that unless it’s an emergency that won’t last long at all when it breaks off right at the wall you’re going to have real trouble. Whoever stubbed that out with PVC isn’t a plumber in the first place. That may work in a pinch if you have to get the water back on but I would fix it right later and if you can afford to buy glue but some primer too instead of sandding the pipe.
I understand you and thanks for your advice friend
I have a feeling these are not done in the US , or by US licensed plumbers. But they're fun to watch.
Looks to me the fitting he was making up to(PVC) was a threaded fitting going into a metal fitting inside the wall
Just wait till someone jerks on the hose or twist on the valve a bit too much with the added leverage
Whit respect. I has worked in construction for around 20 y... And in Many constructions when you Don't have The Right piece you must to improve. In Mexico we call this technique "bell" (hacer campana) for example in drenages and It works well.
Many times I has saw PVC Pipes, 4" , 6" Even 8" connected by this way and works perfectly.
This Guy here show how yo repair problems for emergencys but works for a long Time. So if you Don't have The Time or money, this options are Good for Many of us. If a Pipe of any caliber fails Anyway you must cut and repair rightly The problem.
Americans haves a lot of Good construction techniques but their houses are awake Against hurricans, tornados and fires.
They spend a lot of money in plumbering and electric work but their walls and sealings are basicly Made of Wood or playboard.
Pretty look houses but awake constructions.
I hope my explanation works 'cause I Don't speak a lot of english, I'm mexican.
The truth is... He put the treaded inside.
When it come to plumbing, do it right, if it leaks you don't want mold growing in your walls and making you sick
yes.g thing it is not fit and forget |
There's mold everywhere outside (some inside).....we humans can deal with it. I open up walls all the time with mold...I never get sick.
Even in plastic of heavy duty there is a threaded incert. He is only doing the self threading by moulding technique by heating a less size pipe. But untimely it is bound to leak after some time because the heat expansion of plastic loosen the threading. So better ready for future problems. Use a good threaded joint fitting that will help you to change the tap easily later.
Why didn't he initially attempt to remove what is obviously a male threaded pvc adapter in the wall. Did it need to protrude almost 4in from the wall where my dumbass will aurely hit my shin on it.
@@JmfnP bc he wants to make it look like there is an issue wich i do say its wise he learned so he can easily remove it and do it right later
Yea dudes a worthless hack not a professional

Just so people know, there is q right way qnd a wrong way to do this. This is the wrong way. Spend a couple extra bucks on the correct sized fittings and the pvc cement. It will save you alot of trouble in the future.
So if you need the water back on and the nearest town is miles away, but you have these items, you drive to town instead?
I'm pretty sure these videos are to show people what can be done in an emergency.
@@BareFootDuck you know whats going to really suck? Having to dig into that wall to extend the pipe correctly now that you've glued this monstrosity into it. Im sure all that work is so much easier driving into town to do the job correctly the first time.
Quick fixes may be fast and easy, but good luck fixing them when they fail.
@@jacobhargiss3839 Why wouldn't you just unscrew the PVC fitting that's screwed into the wall if or when it fails?
Hopefully by then you'd have the right fitting to fix it properly.
@@BareFootDuck if you noticed, he glued his thing directly into that pipe. Now, unless that pipe is just simply screwed in (which it usually wouldnt be), its going to be a erious problem to replace.
@@jacobhargiss3839 Yeah mate! I did notice. From what I can see, that PVC on the wall is simply a fitting screwed into whatever type of pipe that is already in the wall.

Although we don't practice threading brass or galvanized male into plastic female, in this situation, we would just glue a female adapter onto the pvc. Then twist in the hose bib. Back here in the 🇺🇸.
Also will be Alot Shorter
I use a hose clamp around pvc females anytime I thread brass males into them with blue glue on the threads no pipe dope or Teflon. Threaded tight but not too tight obviously. And I get the hose clamp nice and tight before I thread the male adapter in. Impact tight. I've had no problems since I started doing this when before it was common for me to go back on jobs I did a few months prior to repair a cracked female adapter that didn't have a hose clamp on it. 9/10 times it's a leak at the water meter connection, customer's side when I do this. You might try that sometime if that's all you've got to work with at the time or something.

For best results always use solvent (glue) on both sides. Both the pipe and the fitting.
thanks for the info brother🤜🏻🤛🏻
@@Mrinventor93 and lots of it. I prefer blue glue for water lines. With a slight twist after fully seating the pipe into the hub.

No competent plumber would ever stoop to doing this or advising someone else to do it.
genial muchas gracias por tus Ideas.
De nada mi amigo, buen día🤝
Greetings from Cali Colombia South America

Excelente.. gracias

That's a good idea using a smaller PVC to fit into the 3/4 inch pipe that's in the wall. But it sticks out too much. Yes it's good that it does for it to position itself over a bucket. But anybody clumsy not looking could easily knock that off. Please consider the longer the pipe is the easier it is to knock off the closer it is to the wall the more sturdy it is that's the nature of plastic.. the water pressure must not be too strong Where You are. If I try this in New York that water spicket would shoot out of the wall for at least 20 ft if I used your methods.. water pressure is too strong in New York because it has to go up to a buildings
Muchas gracias, saludos cordiales!

The easy way is just to buy the proper fitting and have something reliable.
this is a weekend fix or 3rd world repair at best
Always glue the pipe and the fitting.
It is good they only have gravity pressure.
Maravilloso
Gracias 🙏
Boa noite gostei da torneira
🙏🤗🤗🤗
Excelente idea.
Not to Building Code: 1. It will leak over time. 2. The pressure will cause the spigot to fall off over time. 3. Possibly of an uncontrolled flood when nobody is home is very real.
Ha, I was going to say. This is a great solution if you want to commit to sitting in a chair next to that mess for the rest of your life, or until it comes apart, which might only be a few months! Why do people post stuff like this. Based on the comments I have to assume this is not anywhere in the USA.
Super idea 👍 super
Muchas Gracias shanth raj🙏 , 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Que bueano!!Bueno!!! Gracia
De nada gracias🙏
Thank you new friend God bless you
You're welcome thank you for taking the time to comment, blessings friend
Read instructions on glue can. Always use primer/cleaner 1st. Never put glue in female part. Always on male part, then wipe excess around joint for better seal/strength. This prevents extra glue from restricting flow and/or coming loose later, blocking faucets, shower heads, and hose nozzles.
Thanks for the info
I've glued lot of pvc in commercial buildings. I would rather some excess being pushed into the fitting than starve a joint of glue. I feel that the most important preparation on plastic , is removing the formed ridge and edge on the pipe before gluing.

Que plomero tan chafa.....

They make fittings for that Bud
Forking beautiful 💯💯💯
gt is not suitable for High pressure tanks and Pipe line. pressure Varies according to hight . This kind of threading will not long last. Any way good idea..
Great emergency tip..
thanks for understanding the video🙏
So I don't know what access you have to fittings, but metal male threads into plastic female threads is usually not the best idea. The metal inside the plastic stretches it out and can crack it.
If you have to do that, it's worth it to put a hose clamp or something similar right behind the hosebib, where it enters the plastic. That'll reinforce it and make it harder to split out.
Brilliant emergency (for ever) repair
thanks for understanding friend good comment
M gusto

With 100% certainty, no real plumber told you to do that.
Very fine

Gee, they actually make fittings for this.🤔
I know man but I didn't have it at hand at that time the only accessory store that is in my sona was closed, I already solved it correctly brother🤝
May do this in my greenhouse but would never do this anywhere near my house.
I work with plumbers on the daily, this is by far the the dumbest , I'm not a plumber but it's pretty much common sense not to do this. Don't do this in residential, commercial or in a industrial setting. You will have serious problems.
Ain't nothing a little flex tape can't seal
Faster if you go to the hardware store and buy a bushing. Less costly too.
Good luck...
Thanks you
In a Zombie apocalypse, sure.
In my real world house? No way!
Funny how the very LAST connection - the "assembly" to the pipe in the wall was a GLUED connection.
That should tell you something about the rest of the leak waiting to happen !
Some people always argue about that tecnique and some said that is sucks work but if you a smart person nothing impossible just always think with common sense and critical thinking everythings gonna be ok.
Good comment friend, I'm glad there are still staff who see things on the positive side. Thank you
In Afghanistan the local contractors did not use glue. They had a hot melt iron which was electric (120VAC)
You must be talking about aqua therm not for PVC pipe. I often install aqua therm and it does use a iron with special pipe special fittings and different heating times.
Yes. Afghanistani engineering is renown. 😁
improvise overcome

👍
correct friend👍🏻
It would be easier to go get one fitting glue it on then install the faucet
Omg does this have pressure over 125 psi? I don't think so 🤔 no wonder we have regulations
I found out a while back always becarful what you ask for so did others it's already DONE !
Ok 👍🏻
They make coupler that's threaded lol
Buy the right fittings.
So if I can replace them there's no need
thank you
to you 🤝🤗🤗🤗
Some more south of the border plumbing!!!!!
No licensed plumber would suggest this lol go back to the store and get six more pieces you’ll figure it out.
Congratulations love the Chanel !!!!!!
@@Sl20 muchas gracias🙏🤜🏻🤛🏻
In Oregon it would never be allowed no PVC allowed on the water pipe inside the house. The only place you can use PVC for water lines it's only for the mainline you have to stop two feet from the house and then transition to something that is approved
Wow genial 🥰
🤗 gracias 🤩🤩🤩
The couplers are only like $1
I understand you man only that in my area where I live there is only one accessory hardware store and that day it was closed and I had to improvise to solve it, but I already solved it correctly

Great idea, but I seen that it leaked
