Awesome ideas Megan! After several years of teaching lit circles, I’m always still uncertain about how to lead it effectively. I LOVE the idea of the students picking their own novels that reflect a particular theme. I may try that with my 6th graders.
Have you encountered an AI essay yet? I had my first (and possibly 2nd) this year. This is a new frontier; do you have any thoughts or ideas on this subject? …we will do a lesson on plagiarism for sure.

We do all of our writing in class and you need quotes from a specific text so it wouldn’t be possible to use AI. At least not yet!
