So I just wanted to thank you again for our conversation yesterday about the valve body situation. I did make a little bracket for TFT2 that keeps it down in the pan next to the bottom of the filter (where the filter inlet is) and it’s working surprisingly well. No codes after a 15 mile test drive. It’s dialing itself in and the shift timing is good. I understand this is not really something that people should be doing as professional work! Anyone in this situation, just get the right valve body the first time!!!! What I did was not suggested by the Man that created this video!!! I did this on my own to evaluate the condition of the transmission I was working on and to get myself out of a jamb…….but it did work!
I'm going through this as we speak they are not specific on the 4x4 valve body ab60f I've been driving mine for a year and had it serviced and the previous owner broke the valve body at a bolt hole but after this video I'm not buying that $269 JUNK THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION.
Also if you’re interested I now have a spare valve body w both temp sensor cavities and a Sonnax “Sure Cure” kit installed that may just need a couple of pressure solenoids installed. I saved the parts I took out when I installed the VB kit also.
I need help with my 2011 Sequoia 230k. In the cold, stuck in 3rd gear, but after the transmission got warm, I restarted the car. It works very well, but in sum time, it doesn't work only if i wipe the code from the ecm by scan tool , (p0761 Shift solenoid 'c' performance or stuck off) In my country, Everyone told me to change the transmission but I want to fix it . What is the real problem and how to fix in on my original transmission . Also my 2005 ls430 has the same thing, 😢,
I own a repair shop and I. Bought a reman valve body for a vw 01m on eBay during covid because my local transmission suppliers didn’t have the transgo kit I always install on them in stock they couldn’t get for a few weeks. I went on eBay to buy a kit and found reman valve bodys the list was endless for 100 bucks. I messaged a seller with good feedback asking if it was actually a reman or just a cleaned up used part and that I will be taking it apart to check before I install it. They assured me it was a reman. So I ordered it. When it showed up and was not why was in the picture because the picture showed new solenoids but I got one that someone took apart without the tool so the connectors from the ribbon harness were broken off in the solenoids. The pr bore was egg shaped so bad that the transgo kit I install in these likely wouldn’t even work. They gave me the run around trying to get my money back. I said what you are doing is fraud ur selling me a “reman” unit that’s in the worst condition I’ve seen.
So what happens if I just leave TFT2 in a place where it can sample the fluid temperature? I mean the rest of the casting doesn’t look any different. By the way I am in that boat right now.
So I did buy a valve body on Ebay. Mine in my truck has the 89010 casting number on it, but the one I received has the 8870 casting number. BUT the one I received does have the 2 temp sensor holes and the separator plate does have the L01 number on it. If the only difference is the 2 vs 1 temp sensor holes, does that mean the one I received from Ebay will work, even though the casting number is wrong
I paid $850.00 for a brand new one from Toyota with my discount (30%) back in 2022. It doesn’t come with any solenoids, but it was new and straight from Toyota.
@ Anyone that would pay $3,000 for all new solenoids is high on drugs or has way too much money, John. The new valve body from Toyota doesn’t come with solenoids as you know. I wasn’t stating anything about solenoids or attacking your business. What I was saying was before some poor bastard gets fucked on the wrong valvebody on eBay, they can buy a new one from Toyota and have peace of mind.
No such thing as a complete aftermarket valve body and used ones are sometimes tough to find, it pretty much legwork and sometimes eBay has the right stuff but it’s a crapshoot
apparently chinese clones? (some poorly done) similar to chinese clone body parts.. its amazing they can go to the trouble of making a casting to create valve bodies or dies to make body parts to sell in the US (online, ebay, or...) . Obvious attraction is the price difference from OEM (toyota) in this case. thanks for the heads up!
@@derorem no, don’t get the wrong idea- They start out as used Valve bodies. Cars need to come off the road after X amount of miles in China. Some of the cars are (probably illegally) parted out rather than scrapped. I had a customer in Taiwan explain the whole thing to me ⚙️

man i would have bought from ebay if i didnt see this video, thanks much bro
I wish I had seen this video 2 years ago before I started my journey of trying to fix my transmission in my 07 Tundra.
I appreciate your post. Good to know. I lucked out with an A340f valve body. I will never buy another ebay special again.

Good work- adapt and overcome, I’m sure that it will work (or at least that won’t be why it doesn’t)⚙️

I’m talking about maybe making a little bracket that I can zip tie the sensor to where it is down in the pan far enough to sample the temperature
Also if you’re interested I now have a spare valve body w both temp sensor cavities and a Sonnax “Sure Cure” kit installed that may just need a couple of pressure solenoids installed. I saved the parts I took out when I installed the VB kit also.
Sure, give me another call later, I may be interested in it

Whats the model number for valve body for a 2007 tundra 4.7 2wd. Im having a super hard time finding solenlids

Not really surprising- That sounds like the kind of valve body that you would get for $100
So what happens if I just leave TFT2 in a place where it can sample the fluid temperature? I mean the rest of the casting doesn’t look any different. By the way I am in that boat right now.
@iptperformancetrans ,is there a major difference between the ab60e and the ab60f valve bodies? 2wd vs 4wd. Thanks for any knowledge you can give.
They are fully interchangeable, there’s nothing specific in the valve body that makes it 2wd or 4x4
8870 is for A760 or A761 I think, AB60 should come with 89010.

It should be alright but I can’t guarantee it

Is there a recommended source for real valve body’s (rebuilt or aftermarket)?
