One of the worst things is that Sasha died because she decided to spare Gabi earlier when she could've easily killed her because she was a kid. And that mercy is what got her killed.

I was thinking about why I can get choked up over deaths of characters in anime, while I've never really had much emotion for character deaths in live-action films and series. I think the reason is with live-action, the actors are people that exist outside of the story, so when you see them 'die' on screen it doesn't hit you because that person still exists. In anime, the character is really gone - they won't be drawn again.

I felt like when Connie announced that Sasha died, he immediately blamed Eren. Which I was angry at him because it wasn’t technically Eren’s fault and he didn’t laugh he literally cried because he couldn’t save her. I have all respect for Eren.

Same here. Eren was in a losing situation the entire time with Zeke cos that guy is a literal con-artist. They had one job on that airship and that was to make sure the remaining cavalry was back onboard. No lookouts either?... They had more to do with Sasha's death directly than Eren did indirectly.

Just like I thought, most people missed the point of "Eren laughing". He's laughing and crying at the same time because he's having a mental breakdown - he realizes that he DID and WILL cause a lot of pain for the strangers and people he cares about. Also he knows that people on Paradis and outside are the same, just like he told Reiner. Eren doesn't like what he's doing, he's tired, ready to do anything to just end the constant struggle. Reiner and Berthold caused a lot of suffering and trauma for Eren and others and now Eren and scouts are causing a lot of suffering and trauma for Gabi and others, he knows that. In his mind there's no other way, just to "suffer through it". Seeing the aftermath doesn't make it any easier tho.
When I first saw the scene of eren laughing about sashas last words being meat I thought of it as eren thinking “typical sasha, of course she’d say something like that” but sort of in a somber tone, I’d chuckle a bit through tears if those were my friends last words
Well eren would’ve been like that if he hadn’t seen the future but he knew she was going to die and for eren to be like that wouldn’t really fit since his personally had completely changed and we even see it in the last episode of season 3 where he just had a grim look on his face

I can’t watch these people celebrating and advocating for Gabi to die. It makes me sick. She’s a brainwashed, CHILD soldier whose country and people were attacked. What y’all should be feeling is pity for BOTH parties! This is what war does to people and the only thing that comes from war is more pain, hatred and suffering. Especially for children like Gabi who were raised to think they don’t have any choice but to fight until they die or eventually become human meat shields for their oppressors. It’s sad no matter which way you look at it.
