    My favorite Intellivision game. Any twist on this classic is interesting as was this. Nice. 😀

      Thanks for the feedback. The Intellivision version of this game is available on emulators or the original systems. But sadly, it seems missing from the official re-released systems and game packs probably due to licensing issues.

      @@FOXCREEKGAMES Yes, it's a licensing issue alright.
      IMO however, they don't need the "Tron" part today in the name. It's not 1982 anymore.
      Just calling it "Deadly Discs" is enough, and it's a stand-alone great game without need for any movie credit.

    I've had an itch to replicate some Intellivision games in pygame, but it would be great to find the sprite sheets for the running man somewhere.

      Thanks for watching. The link below is an interesting read about the running man sprites.

    In the original Tron on Intellivision, you get some life back by going through the warp doors from side to side or up down.

    • @FOXCREEKGAMES
      @FOXCREEKGAMES  Год назад

      Thanks for the reminder. We must have forgot about that feature. It would have been good to include in the game.

      My strategy was to keep close to the doors at all times and kill them one by one to avoid the Sentinel, then run when the orange guys with the stix appears. We where playing with two remotes, one manage the movement and the other manage the firing, teamwork !

      Nice strategy. You must have been good players. Can't remember but think we hit a million points on the original Intellivision version. Maybe that rolled over the score? Video doesn't show it, but our game did include progressively more difficult enemies (i.e. captains, require multiple hits to destroy, carried deadly sticks, etc.)

      Wow. I got this game for Christmas when I was about 8 or 9. My family didn’t see me for a while after as I was in front of this game for hours
      This plays quicker than I remember, which I like.
      I think I remember your player slows down as he takes damage. I don’t think this happened here. But I loved seeing this

    What is that ringing noise and the health bar thing? Also do the red avatars in the top left mean you have 7 lives?

    • @FOXCREEKGAMES
      @FOXCREEKGAMES  6 месяцев назад +1

      Red avatars represent lives. Ringing sounds means low health bar. Health bar can recover if you avoid taking hits. But if health bar drops to empty then you lose a life. Thanks for watching.

      @@FOXCREEKGAMES where can I buy this? or at least play it? I remember many late nights with my dad playing this on our Intellivision II. I still have the OG game and console, and even picked up a sealed box copy or this off ebay. I love this game

      The game was freeware, but required owning the cartridge for legal purposes. It's almost 20 years old now. We can try to find the last release and provide a download link. The game is a stand-alone executable. But to play it on modern versions of windows could require a one-time download of supporting software.

      Multiple replies lol. Someone must want a link.
      You can try the link below. It shouldn't ask for a donation, but if it does you can just enter zero. We still can't find the version that supported gamepads. This version of the game is keyboard control only (arrows, spacebar, and control keys). As previously noted, it's for Windows PC only as a stand-alone executable and could require one-time download of supporting software if necessary. It works on various Windows versions for us but try it at your own risk.

    Nice but shouldn't he be blue and bad guys be red? iI like the speed-up. but not sure about ram chips. my go-to was blocking in the original game, I blocked and broke discs like a master :) still a great re-creation.

    • @FOXCREEKGAMES
      @FOXCREEKGAMES  Год назад

      The Intellivision character was red. Enemies varied in color. Video didn't show it, but our game has enemies with different colors and requirements to eliminate them. The RAM chips are needed to power the shield. It just gave the character something to do after disabling the Recognizer. The idea was to help break up some of the repetition in the game. We agree blocking was a must in the original game. Moving the angle of the shield and the sound effect of shattering the disc never got old. Thanks for watching.
