when i was about 7 or 8 i played zelda phantom hourglass (i think thats what it was called) I got it used and so it had a save file right at the final boss. i could not for the life of me figure out how to draw a hourglass on the bottom screen. I was dumb. I never beat that boss.

While Sonic music is always great (except for Sonic Forces only being decent), Sonic Rush stands out from other Sonic games because Hideki Naganuma (composer behind Jet Set Radio) was involved in Sonic Rush's soundtrack. Sonic Rush is easily my favorite 2D entry and is my 3rd favorite overall in the entire series right behind the Adventure titles.
This was the first sonic game I ever played, and it’s why blaze is one of my favourite characters in the series, and the reason I love sonic in general, the nostalgia hits hard
Blaze is my favorite character too. She is my most loved all favorite character to play as in Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, and the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games franchise.
The entire vibe of this game is so appealing compared to the stuff modern sonic usually does. No edge, no taking itself so serious that it's just pathetic, just straightforward fun, fast, and funky as shit.
@Jarius Santiago they might as well bring this energy back, I mean their latest attempts at at being serious and "epic" fell flat on their face, it's really hard to mess up something that's only intention is to be fun.

I remember playing this all the time. I got pretty good at all the bosses, and I carried around the ds to listen to the music pretty much everywhere I went. There were people at my lunch table in elementary that had the game, but when I pulled out my ds and decided to play the secret final boss for fun, they all stopped what they were doing and watched me play! Good times.
The boss at the end of both stories was so hard I couldn't beat that almost a year year later I picked up the game again and finally beat it, and once I could fight the actual final boss and beat it I remember why this is such a 10/10 game with all the nostalgia I had with the game too.

I remember how much fun I had on this game. Once I mastered it, I began breezing through every stage on S rank, and collecting many rings on Special Stage like it was a walk in the park.
For emulators, the input detection is kinda weird with a mouse. That was a problem for me at least. They probably had the same issue if they were using an emulator.

I had my cartridge for this stolen over 12 years ago by now, but that Blaze's navigator dialogue and that first Eggman boss fight is still vividly burnt into my mind
Quick advice for the final zone: red meteors hold rings so brake them to get more: also, it better to collect rings before the fight or else you'll be on the constant look out for rings WHILE also avoiding meteors and/or projectiles. This is especially true for blaze.
Blaze has the easiest mechanics of the fight tho, all she has to do is shoot Fireballs directly at Nega, you can do this instantly when he appears and basically 2 shot him before he gets to attack you at all!
Back then, i could never get past act 2... And this person makes it seem so easy. I never got far into the game at all so seeing the full game here is nice so I can see what actually happens when you beat the game

This game is so good, used to play it all the time, me and my brother had it but I was better at the main stages, and he was better at getting the emeralds. So every time I get to that entrance for an emerald I had to stop him from whatever he was doing just to do the stage for me.

For the red balloons, such as at 25:17, you can just slide the stylus across the numbers in the correct order. It will give you more points that way.

Quick advice for the final zone: red meteors hold rings so brake them to get more: also, it better to collect rings before the fight or else you'll be on the constant look out for rings WHILE also avoiding meteors and/or projectiles. This is especially true for blaze.
Blaze has the easiest mechanics of the fight tho, all she has to do is shoot Fireballs directly at Nega, you can do this instantly when he appears and basically 2 shot him before he gets to attack you at all!

Back then, i could never get past act 2... And this person makes it seem so easy. I never got far into the game at all so seeing the full game here is nice so I can see what actually happens when you beat the game

Blaze deserves a solo game.
This game is so good, used to play it all the time, me and my brother had it but I was better at the main stages, and he was better at getting the emeralds. So every time I get to that entrance for an emerald I had to stop him from whatever he was doing just to do the stage for me.
Technically sonic heroes was the first boost game. No I'm not talking about about the special stages. The rocket attack was sort of like the boost.
