  • If you want to know the differences between San Pedro and Placencia and why I made the move, this video will go through the differences as well as activities and a comparison.
    Here is the link to the Placencia calendar: realliferecess.com/events-cal...
    Since I am a Buyer's Rep in Belize, I can help you check out both places. Our next tour is coming up in October so reach out for more details. You can reach me at 1-780-984-1805 on whats app or by email to lhinvesting@gmail.com.
    Also check out interviews showing other people’s perspectives on the move to Belize including the first one I posted with my Canadian friend Anita here:

    Awesome video Linda, I live north of Edmonton here, recently retired and been to different parts of Belize working with Rotary and holidaying. Placencia and northern Belize has been of an interest for retirement for many years. So thanks for the information.

    Hi: I didn't catch the names of the stores you said just opened for home goods. If someone could tell me, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

      The two I mentioned that are new are Dibary Home and Courts. We also have other stores such as Caye Supplies that is great and has been one I have shopped at quite a bit over the past few years.

    Great video! Hows the weather during mid September? any chances of tropical storms?

    • @LindainBelize
      @LindainBelize  27 дней назад

      Sept and Oct do often tend to be the most rainy although last year November was the worst. It is hard to predict but most times it rains really hard and can then go back to sun. The weather is similar to Mexico if you have been there.

    Nice overview of the two regions of the country.
    Are goods cheaper in Placenica? When you live on an island like San Pedro I am assuming you pay a sur-tax as everything need to arrive by boat as opposed to trucks.

    • @LindainBelize
      @LindainBelize  Год назад +1

      Yes, many things are cheaper. Groceries are often cheaper, at local places the traditional Belize dish stewed chicken with rice and beans is $10BZ, versus $12BZ in San Pedro. Also, when for shipping I get home delivery here versus paying extra for the water taxi.

      @@LindainBelize You have been living in Belize on and off for about 2 years now. What is your least favorite season/month there? I Iike to visit places when it is not "perfect".
      I just got back from Portugal and the weather then in early March was pretty much the same as in Vancouver, so I can imagine the winters there are the same as Vancouver. Portugal moved from high on my list to further down as a result.
      Belize and Panama are also on the short list.

      @@Harry_Lew Did you make it to Belize yet? I don't have a favorite time of year really but here are a couple of times I like. Slow season is better if you want more quiet, so the summertime but then is more humid. I love July for Lobsterfest. And I also love Nov to Feb since I don't like cold weather that we have in Alberta that time of year.

    Hi Linda! Is it safe to live in Placencia? Is there a lot of crime?

    • @LindainBelize
      @LindainBelize  Год назад +4

      It is extremely safe. I have not had any issues at all. Since it is a poor country though, you should ensure you lock your doors and don't leave belongings in the open as in most places.

      @Linda Hayes you could've made your point without saying "its a poor country" You sound elitist. Those "poor"people did request you go there. Ugh

    • @ThePthinker
      @ThePthinker Год назад

      What's more interesting is they are continuing that colonial mindset where ever they go! Sad part is, they are making the so-called "poor folk" even poor when they can't afford places in their own neighborhoods. Yet at the same time, they look down on those once-smiling people who welcomed them! Sound familiar!!! From Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Mexico, etc; well the world is their playground I guess....Personally, I can't wait until this all falls apart; before or after my death!. Let the people be free from the parasites.
