They are technically the same but they look different because 1. The withereds suits would not been able to be repaired because the amount of blood that stained the inside of the suit so they had to re design the suits. and 2. Some of their endo parts would have to have been replaced because of age and probably blood Reminence as well.
There are a few things that you forgot about. One of the things is that Fnaf 1 is in 1993 while Fnaf 2 is in 1987.

in the game its actually stated that fazbear entertainment tried to repair the old animatronics but stopped mid way and just used the old animatronics for spare parts to make the toy animatronics..

I always thought that the reason they look different is because of what Afton did in the FNAF 3 minigames.
See, I believe that Afton actually disasembled the animatronics before we play as Michael in FNAF 1. That way he can get the remnant from the endoskeletons he needs for the Funtimes in Sister Location. We can also tell that these are slightly older variations of the models since Freddy and Bonnie sport buttons on their design in the minigame when they don't have these buttons in FNAF 1 and we all know that Scott doesn't do coincidences. Of course, in doing this, he unknowingly frees the spirits of the children from their animatronic bodies and they take their revenge on Afton as he gets springlocked in his own suit.
Now the kids are free from their animatronics bodies, but they don't actually have any peace or closure. So I don't think they actually leave the building. Instead, they stay in the building and they haunt that building. This could explain all of the 'halluciniations' we see in FNAF 1. It could be the ghosts trying to communicate with Mike, yes, but it could be even creepier if these things in the environment were ACTUALLY CHANGING thanks to the fact that the animatronic haunt the building. We see posters changing, writing on the walls, a circus organ playing and that easter egg in the backstage where the endoskeleton and all the heads turn to look at the camera could be explained as a hallucination OR those heads ACTUALLY MOVED because of the children now haunting the building.
Of course, Fazbear Entertainment did have to put the animatronics back together again and this does explain why so many parts of the animatronic's endoskeleton is different since Afton would have taken a lot of their parts. Once the animatronics had basically almost been rebuilt from the ground up, the ghosts with nowhere else to go, haunt the animatronics again as that's really all they know. So they now haunt the characters AND the building. We can also see in the FNAF movie how they haunt the building as well as the characters as we see lights flickering to various characters' presence, doors closing and opening on their own, pots and pans being rattled around and heck the whole building literally comes crashing down thanks to their rage once they've springlocked Afton.
So, in a way, they are still kind of the same robots. But they've literally had to be completely restored and improved thanks to what Afton did. That's partly why Freddy's would need a security guard even when the place is shut down since Fazbear Entertainment might think that what happened to the animatronics was because of some vandal that broke in to mess things up when we know it was actually Afton. It would also give another reason for Mike to go to the FNAF 1 location: to investigate Freddy's AND because it was his father's last known location.
I've never actually thought about the idea that the building itself was haunted. Mind you the FNAF1 building is the same building that the MCI happened in, so it makes sense for the children to haunt the building they were killed in, not just the animatronics.

The old restaurant the Withereds came from was probably a similar layout, or even the same building as what would later be used as the FNAF 1 location, since Phone Guy also mentions that the old location had doors for the office, unlike the FNAF 2 location
You know in the FNAF 4 minigame theres mask of the Unwithereds on the bully's heads? Probably the UN withereds were probably together with Fredbear and Springbonnie and were later used for a new location which is now FNAF 2.

My personal theory is pretty similar, after the 1987 location closed down with the toys being discarded and the withereds being kept around for a new location, Fazbear Entertainment redesigned the suits because the main reason why the withereds weren't used in the 1987 location was because "they were so ugly" as Phone Guy says, so they gave them a cuter and friendlier suit, they also made their jaws a lot more safer by having less power on the servos or pneumatics depending on what technology they used (realistically it would be pneumatics as that's what real animatronics use and they can be pretty powerful but Phone Guy mentions the fact that they use servos in FNAF 1, so maybe they either had servos all along or replaced pneumatics with servos.)
one of the changes on their jaws was to remove the upper row of teeth on Freddy and Bonnie. These redesigns also made Freddy look less like Fredbear (who most likely looked more like the Withered Freddy design than the FNAF 1 Freddy design shown on UCN which makes zero sense if you think about it for more than 2 minutes)
Fazbear Entertainment would reuse a lot of the metal parts on the original endoskeletons, which are the parts that the remnant holds onto in the first place so the kids' spirits would still be there.
And like you said in the video, they disposed of the corpses found stuffed inside of the animatronics as Fazbear Entertainment reports dead people as "missing" and covers up their deaths.
So in conclusion Fazbear Entertainment is evil and everyone involved with the company or it's decisions deserves to burn in hell for eternity expect maybe for the minimum wage workers like the cashiers and security guards.

They are canonically the same Animatronics. The true and obvious explanation for why the designs are different is because Scott "upgraded" the designs of the classic Animatronics for the second game. Let us examine the material, from Dawko's interview and some Reddit posts we can understand that although Scott had a lot of experience when it comes to making models, Five Nights at Freddy's was very experimental. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 was more developed and throught out. We can see that when making the Withered Animatronics Scott gave them upper teeth, some buttons and other small detail to overhaul the designs. Some people could argue that the Withered Animatronics are different for lore reasons but just look at Springtrap and Afton ("Scraptrap"). They are canonically the exact same character but his design took a 360º between games. Scott is not consistent with designs and everyone knows that. Great video regardless. I love when people come up with theories to try and explain Scott's inconsistencies from a lore prespective!

@PURPLEB1LL maybe the "retrofit" part has to deal with how they look as their upgrades would've invited them having upper teeth, bigger frameworks and more cartooney details however in the process they got scrapped and used as extra parts to Male the toys hence why they are left withered as they are incomplete

fnaf1 phone guy talks about the bite of '87 (literally the ending of fnaf2) in past tense, meaning it already happened, meaning fnaf2 is before fnaf1

Evidence supports that the withered animatronics had the bodies removed, and the animatronics in FNAF 1 had no bodies, and the reason (looks to) W foxy has a endo 02, is cause he has a edited endo for his ears, Chica is the only one who has a not edited FNAF 01 endo.
well of course fnaf 1 has no bodies in the animatronics it takes place after fnaf 2 (1987) and the bodies were likely removed in 1985 a bit after the MCI
the withered one's were prebuilds of the ones we see in fnaf 1, The bodies were stuffed in them in fnaf 2 (The deaths happened in fnaf 2) In fnaf 2, Purple guy killed the kids in that Freddy's place, stuffed the kids in those suit's, Built the ones we see in fnaf 1. The toy animatronics had a bad night mode which is why they were moving.

The incident where the victims were stuffed into the animatronic was in 1985, when the withered were non withered. The MCI in 1987 weren’t stuffed into any animatronics. And the toy animatronics attack the guards because william messed with their facial recognition

I have a possible answer for this:
Maybe William afton changed the animatronics bodies and endos in 1993 so he wouldn't have taken out the spirits.
Also I think the children souls are stuck into the animatronics endo because foxy had a broken stomach in fnaf 2 and we didn't see a single part of the child's body inside withered foxy.

I was looking g through some stuff, and noticed a secret in FNAF 3, that no one really talks about. In the Chica’s party world mini game, when you go to the out of bounds area where you give cake to the crying kid, you’ll fall through the floor, where you’ll find 5 shadow cupcakes. 4 of then are at the right, with a 5th one always following you. I do find it interesting that it’s there, but it’s never really discussed.
As for what it means, it could represent the 5 missing kids, and the one that always follows could be Cassidy? The Cupcake was always a strange character, even with him having a yellow version of himself.

my theory was that there were "unwithered" animatronics in an earlier than fnaf2 restaurant (maybe even with fredbears. So when the fnaf2 location closed and toy animatronics scrapped they were refitted to look more friendly and cleaner.

Another thing I thought about with this idea, the whole "remnant" thing bein a huge ordeal now they could have made new molds for the endos, turned the older endos into the molten steel that still has the souls inside it, an forged the new endos with it. Cause we've seen that the remnant can survive for long periods of time an extreme heat. So all that happened is the souls were still trapped inside the robots but they got a new endo an some flashy covers. To me, it explains the sudden transformation between FNAF 1 an 2. Redesigned to be child friendly with the children still hauntin the suits...

My theory:
In 1987-1993, celebrate the grand re-opening of Freddy Fazbear’s (FNAF 2), the company stripped the withered animatronics parts, to either reuse or to use for comparison and scale. But when they DID reuse the parts, Remnant lingers inside of them. Causing the FNAF 1 animatronics to come to life.

I have been enough fan ever of FNAF since the first game came out when I was a child, yet now as an adult one question that I had was never answered.
It’s mentioned mentioned by phone guy in FNAF 1 that parents complained about both blood and mucus coming from the animatronics; however, in FNAF 2, it was mentioned that the withered animatronics were refurnished, meaning that Fazbear entertainment would have found the bodies of the missing children and disposed of them, which is why we don’t see the corpses of the missing children in FNAF 2 in the withered animatronics,(Withered Foxy being an example…).
With that said, if the bodies were disposed of in FNAF 2, and the withered animatronics were kept because they were refurbished with advanced technology and made into the FNAF 1 animatronics, then how come parents complained about mucus and blood coming from the FNAF1 Animatronics?
TLDR:
If Fazbear entertainment disposed of the bodies in the withered animatronics before the gameplay of FNAF 2 took pace, and the FNAF 2 withered animatronics were made into the FNAF 1 animatronics, then why did the parents complain about the FNAF 1 one animatronics having blood and mucas coming from them?

If you forgot for withered chica, Twisted Animatronic. You might have known that she might have not been at Fredbear's family diner, but instead at the other restaurant for the mediocre melodies because there used to be a yellow t-posing chicken.
My thoery:
People forget that animatronics are animatronics, which means they don't necessarily need to replace parts with completely new ones. What I mean is that an Endo 01 can become an Endo 02 using the entirety of the previous endo skeleton to create the new Endo, to which new technology is added. The same goes for the suits; the Withereds are exactly the same animatronics from FNAF 1 with the technology from FNAF 2 and vice versa.
As for the bodies of the children, I don't believe that if a child dies and is placed inside an animatronic, the body remains inside it. I believe that the physical body, at the moment of possession, merges with the animatronic and leaves no traces of its existence. This means that even if the police had known they were inside, they would never have been able to recover them.
Unlike Springtrap, who literally merged with the animatronic and therefore his physical body became part of the animatronic itself, like an endoskeleton. That's why his body didn't disappear when he was possessed.
If people believe the fnaf 2 animatronics and the fnaf1 animatronics aren’t the same because of different design, then by that logic scraptrap isn’t springtrap because they’re design is different
I dont think they are different from design, its because FNAF 2 LEGIT TOOK PLACE BEFORE THE FNAF 1 ANIMATRONICS EVEN EXISTED.

Tho to be fair, when replacement of endo parts is involved, the way the animatronics are possessed gets... a bit messy. Are the spirits attached to the actual endoskeletons, or merely to the characters in general? I think the latter is what happens if we want this idea to make sense. Otherwise, the spirits would be split between multiple parts and animatronics, aaaand it'd be the remnant biz all over again, and I don't like that.

This can literally just be explained in a youtube short if want the summed up version just look at this comment. You see, the reason the un withered animatronics were replaced by the toys was because they were deemed too scary which means that when the withered were brought back they had to be redesigned, obviously using the original parts but just changing the animatronic design. Basically the reason that the witherds and the og’s look the same is because it is explicitly stated IN THE GAME!
Theres a pretty well recieved theory that the fnaf 3 mini game where purple guy disassembles the animatronics is him taking the endos for the funtimes, i personally do not believe that one. But thinking about that with this context:
Fazbear entertainment swapped out endo parts feom the original endos with new ones, disgarding the old parts, but purple guy takes those old parts with rhe remnant in them and uses THOSE for the funtimes. As for what i think that minigame is for then? Probably the original MCI, or something that happens AFTER fnaf 1

i have another theory for the endo. they melted it down, took the technology out of them, recasted the endo with the same metal they melted and put the technology back in.

The thing adout the different endos , I have a most suitable theory the in the books of the fazbear frights or something else we can to now about remenent which is a metal in which the souls are trapped when that metal is melted and could be injected into any thing to give them life which was found by William Afton to bring the crying child to life and did those experiments with the children who where killed

I felt the toys were a lot more advanced than the og animatronics, the building we are watching was more spacious and had more to offer than what we see in the first game and on top of all of it, we see stuff from the both games in the third installment, but the toy stuff looked more polished and clean for the most part compared to the og animatronics' parts, which were dirty and destroyed despite a 6 year difference. 36 years (At least that is what I am gathering from the internet) of anything that could have happened to the toys' parts and they look like they can be thrown onto an endo and used again after a bit of repair. I know that fnaf 2 is a prequel, but it just doesn't feel like it should be because of how the game is setting itself up. And the argument about parts and such being changed out or replaced can be made for if fnaf 2 was a sequel instead of prequel.
TL:DR Fnaf 2 feels more like a sequel than a prequel, but it is for some reason a prequel
No, they're literally the animatronics used in Fredbear's Family Diner.
1.The Withereds aren't actually from Fredbears (as Fredbears only had Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, and possible the puppet too).The Withereds are actually from the 1983 Freddys location that we never see.
2.What I think happened is that Fazbear Entertainment was originally just going to repair the Withereds and use them for the 1993 location, however, since William demolished them in Follow me, they were forced to just use parts of the withereds in the fnaf 1 Animatronics, and for some reason, the souls of the kids decide to rehaunt the animatronics.
Easy the reason why the withered were first was because in Fnaf two was in 1987 and in the Fnaf 1 phone call I think the first night he says “and then there was the bite of 87”which means that Fnaf two came before Fnaf 1 so that’s why both of them are the same and that the Bonnie song that goes like “he took away my face he took away my arm” is fake because Fnaf 2 came first
Beer twisted the withered were the animatronics before the toy animatronics at juniors but when William Afton came in the following mini game he scrapped them so they had to be replaced with the toy animatronics so that's why they're there in the first place that was their Pizzeria before the toys
Only problem with this theory is golden freddy. We know golden freddy is merely a ghost/hallucination so how would that work in your context? Everything else makes sense but for now we dont know how cassidy would be in a different suit

In FNAF 4 minigames, We can see both Endo-01 and Endo-02 in “Part & Service” room when Crying Child is trapped inside it.
Keep it in mind, Endo-02 is Springlock Endoskeleton and that can explain “Fredbear & Friends” TV shows in FNAF 4 minigames

I think the main parts of the Endo 02 and Endo 01 are too different to be reused for the Endo 01. I personally believe that the animatronics were remade from the ground up except for the reuse of the exact same wiring and programming that was in the Withereds, allowing them to be possessed.

Here's the ACTUAL reason behind the differences in design: Scott dosn't actually reuses models between projects unless it has relevence for the plot, and commits to always create a new model for each projects.
This is why Scraptrap looks nothing like Springtrap.
This is why Molten dosn't look like Ennard at all.
This is why golden Freddy in fnaf 1 and 2 dosn't have five fingers.
This is why Fredbear and Spring Bonnie's hats and bowties change colors between games, movie and books.
And this is why the withered looks nothing like the fnaf 1 designs, even trought the books suggest that in the very first freddy's location (the one from 1985 were they origninated from, wich isn't Fredbear's) looks like the fnaf 1 designs.
They went from fnaf 1, to fnaf 2, to fnaf 1 again.
Why? Because Scott just dosn't care. It has no revelance to the story in any ways.
This is also why the dream squences in fnaf 2 were you see from Freddy's perspective the animatronics are the fnaf 1 designs, they were in the original freddy's that opened in 1983 and closed in 1985. Hence why the puppet was present into theses dreams. Comfirming that the "Give the gift of life" minigame isn't just a symblolic gesture.
Why? Because in the game's timeline. William didn't stuff the kids. She did to give them life.
Wich is different from both games and books, because there's not even a puppet in them. Also, the story was changed.

Than fazbare entertainment used the mimic programing a taught the bots with the recording that is why thay act possessed.

I don't belive that the freddy's band was in fredbear's,I think there was a restaurand prob in 85 where there wasn't fredbear and spring bonnie (they were in saferoom as well i guess) and after that restaurant closed,2 years later the fnaf 2 pizzeria was oppend
I think this is 100% the case, it would make sense AND we've seen it happen in real life before. Take the Showbiz Pizza band (Rock-afire Explosion) for example. The costumes/casing of those have been changed and retrofitted into many different things before (Chuck E Cheese is a good example), and in terms of changing out and upgrading "Endoskeleton" parts that has also happened, with upgrades being made to a set in a Toy Store in Mexico and also replacement head frames, legs, arms, etc etc. This is the most realistic theory out there and so I do indeed say that this is correct and canon in my books.
It's not 100% the case, FNaF 2 took place in 1987,FNaF 1 took place in 1993.

@@fatzspizzasafari Easy, aging, I'm pretty sure doing nothing as a literal robot would make you rot and tear, especially in a dirty room where bugs can crawl on you and stuff.
My theory is that after freadbear and springbonnie were scrapped they created 4 robots (the wither ones ) but these robots didnt work good (project failed) so they removed the the 4 robots and replaced them with 4 toys and they used old robots parts for new robots. And the withers work well now because there r souls inside them so they would know what r the features of the 4 old robots.
those aren’t the withered they were they were the unwithereds who got withered in 1987, The 1985 animatronics DID work but after the MCI they had blood and bad odors to the missing children corpses in them so the place got closed and the bodies were removed which is why we can’t really see the stuffed animatronics
Can no one just say that these withered animatronics are from Fredbears. They became scrapped and then the toy animatronics came. Then they trashed them and used them and the withered to make the fnaf 1 animatronics

You have good points but there's one thing I have to say it's confirmed that William killed 11 kids Charlie is what makes it 11 but they never said which set of the five kids he killed was you know Jeremy Fritz all of them so what if the ones from FNAF 1 are a different set of murder kids
