- While installing the @jeepcablesofficial Big 7 Kit, on my 3rd gen 4runner, I discovered my air intake pipe was dry rotted and cracked.
I decided to upgrade to the #airraid intake pipe, because it cleans up the engine bay and retains the stock airbox. I purchased the intake from @throtl
This video describes my initial impressions and a quick run down on the install.

She’s ready to rock n roll!
Yup. Lez go!!!!
I wish there were more options like this out there. The IS has the HPS full silicone isr delete. Wish they had that option for our 5vz
Exactly. I like silicone amd don't mind rigid plastics, but the pricing is outrageous because there's no competition. This thing should cost 60 bucks tops.
I will say however, that I sent them an email about the rough cuts and plastic shavings I mentioned in the video.
They sent me a new unit for free immidiately. K and N owns airaid now BTW. Great customer service.
I’ve had my MIT on for close to a year now and I love it. Perfect solution to the old cracked OEM rubber tube. Gives some good intake sound along with a little happier breathing for the engine. But yeah i definitely agree on the overpriced part lol. Prolly costs them like 25 bucks for the whole kit. Interesting on the quality of your tube tho. Mine was perfect compared to yours. I didn’t have any plastic shavings in mine when I got it and the little vaccum ports on mine are perfect. Maybe quality is going down 🤷♂️
Well, it seems like we are paying more and getting less these days unfortunately.
Now that I've had it on for a while now, I'll say I do like it overall and it does sound cool lol.
But, yea overpriced for sure. I paid slightly more for a cobb short ram intake with the filter and all on my mazdaspeed 3, and the quality was league's ahead.
I don't regret the purchase though.
Who is this Jake dude I’ve got some questions
