I live in Fitzwilliam, and have hiked the southernmost stretch to the MA/NH border many many times - and I've seen deer, moose, fox, & bears along the way. If you should happen to run into a white-haired hiker there with a yellow lab running loose, that's probably me! BTW, I might add to the list of interesting artifacts this trail offers - just north of the state line, the trail passes through a wide marsh and over a rare double-arch stone bridge. You can spot it from Rte 12 if you know precisely where to look.

There are actually 3 rail trails that extend out from Keene. I think it is 60-70 miles in total. Plus there is the goose pond trail area, but it is not as dry and straight; it is a more winding trail.

The wife and I must visit this place when this covid crap is over with. The o&w rail trail in Stone Ridge NY is close by use, we recently did a 25 mile ride there.
