@@devindance8604 I have mine maxed out with frost affinity and the unsheathe ash of war. It's a pretty simple ash, but damn is it strong. If you want a really brain dead ash on it though, you could use flaming strike instead.

@@kshitijdedhe7258 It solely depends on your play style. The bloodhound has more damage, while the nagakiba can be infused with an ash of war and be given an extra trait, such as extra bleed or frostbite damage.
If you dual wield a maxed bloodhounds fang and a maxed morgotts cursed sword than you’re literally unstoppable. The L1 attacks do more damage than most skills in the game

I'm doing a strength faith build and I'll be using the magma wyrm scale sword as soon as I get it but I'm using the bloodhound fang just for shit and gigs and it's ridiculous how op this thing is
Bloodhounds Fang is a top tier Somber Weapon, I used it from the very beginning of the game all the way to the end and beat every boss with it. That was my first playthrough and I was a Quality build. I've exceeded the limit of 10 builds/characters per PSN and have 2 Builds/characters on my 2nd PSN, and best NG and NG+ with them all. For me the top 3 Somber Weapons are Blasphemous Blade, Darkmoon Greatsword, and Bloodhounds Fang. Of course there are others that are just as good, but those 3 are my favorites. As for Regular Weapons it's a bit harder to narrow down, so many killer weapons both Somber and Regular, however, some of my favorites are Iron Greatsword, Nightrider Glaive, Dual Bandit's Curved Swords, Greatsword(the Guts/Colossal Greatsword), Guardian Swordspear, Dual Great Stars or Great Maces, Golems Halberd, Nagakiba, etc. Other killer Somber Weapons are Wing of Astel Curved Sword, Golden Order Greatsword, Sacred Relic Sword, Ruins Greatsword, Starscourge Greatswords, Royal Greatsword, Fallingstar Beast's Jaw, Moonveil Katana, Rivers of Blood Katana, etc. So many great weapons, spells, playstyles, etc. I'll most likely have all 10 characters slots on my 2nd PSN lol, best replay value I've ever seen in a video game.
I ended up using the bloodhounds fang early in my first playthtough after embarrassingly copying a sword of NaF build (oblivious to the fact it was nerfed and I hunted down some lengthy talismans). I eventually grew bored of it and am now using the nagakiba. Its the perfect sword, long range and upgradeable (grease and stuff).
I agree on Naga but the other 2 are just decent imo. I would instead recommend the bandits or shamshur for curved swords and for curved gs I would say to just not use them,your much better off using weapon classes like ss,ts,hts,katanas,and maybe even claws. But if your still keen on using curved gs for dex your best options are bloodhounds fang,morgotts cursed sword,and omen cleaver. The monks flame blade and zamor sword are decent as well.

@@jeffmaclennan4624 For a Nagakiba, dexterity, with blood flame blade on keen or going straight for the lightning affinity can actually put out a lot of work and pull off higher damage numbers than arcane.
@@Zercanyanyep, you're spot on, Arcane tends to have lower damage since it relies heavily upon Status Effects like Bleed, Rot, Poison, Sleep, etc. which will make the difference in total damage or DPS. The Lightning Affinity will hit harder than Keen on a Dexterity build and Fire will hit harder than Heavy Affinity on a Strength build, Quality can use either or both just on separate weapons. The problem with that is It's split damage Physical and Elemental and therefore cannot be buffed with Greases or Spells.

Im in my first playthrough of elden ring. And so far the best weapons ive used are magma blades, sword of night flame, dual wielding ice rind hatchets with wild strikes ashes.
In my first evee playthrough, I got the grave scythe as a first try drop. I knew nothing about it, but since I was trying dex, I used it. I kept it until I got the bloodhound blade, which lasted me the rest of the playthrough

@MrXcllusive The bosses in elden ring are poorly designed for 1v1 and summons are the only way to even the odds (besides leveling), only this can make the bosses so easy it's like playing another game entirely. Previous Fromsoft games are superior
you really can't beat the bloodhound's fang, it's my go-to weapon in any run where i don't have a specific weapon in mind because it's somber upgraded and you can get it so early too

I noticed when he was showing the clip of the bloodhounds fang he used two ashes of war(although the weapon does not have the option to change the ash of war, as far as I’m concerned) the one from the weapon and the bloodhounds step. So how did he do it, anyone knows? I was flabbergasted when i saw it.
Some weapons have a second attack after their AOW . I think you have to press L2 twice . Everytime I get a new Weapon I try the moveset . There is more than you think . Pressing AOW multiple times , AOW then R2 , AOW then R1 , Duck then R1 (most of the times same attack as Rolling R1), R2 R2 , R2 R1 , Backstep R1 , Backstep R2 . Just try everything and you may find something others haven't . I think R1 after backstep is the most overlooked of them all .
What about the guardian sword spear? That gets S scaling on a keen affinity and it’s got a unique move set for halberds shared only by Loretta’s war sickle

The only reason why I dont use the bloodhounds fang is because its a bit too slow for me. I'm too used to slicing enemies with hookclaws so it'd be weird to switch to a heavier weapon.

The X means you dont have the stats for a weapon, and you can upgrade your Flask with Tears and Seeds. Tears are found at churches, Seeds near little Erdtrees found all over the game
@@mandalorriian yeah you need to kill enemies to get runes. you can use runes at a site of grace to level up. the weapon will have stat requirements when you hover over it in your inventory, you can view your current player stats in the equipment screen. if your stats don't meet the requirements for the weapon, your character can't properly wield it and damage is heavily nerfed.
I know it is not dex, but the strongest and best weapon I found so far is the Giant Crusher with occult scaling. I kill almost every boss in the game with just one or two hits. I start with golden wow, flame grant me strength, then I go into boss room, use royal knighs resolve ash of war on weapon, hit the boss and it is dead. It doesnt have to be with occult, it can be heavy scaling too if you want to only go strength. Most of these mobs he is using weapon art in the video to kill with 2 hits just need a normal hit from my giant crusher and they are dead.
nah, cos when people minmax this game the game becomes childs play, they outdamage the bosses by trading blows. The fun part about this game is learning movesets of bosses and trying to beat them under 5 tries.
Bloodhounds Fang was my go-to weapon in Elden ring against most bosses because it was SOOO good

This may be the best NG++ weapon in the game. Once you get your quality stats up you’re free to go into INT or FAITH and buff with insane numbers.

Bloodhound's fang is a weapon thag can get you through starting to the endgame + the DLC. It's a really dope weapon.

scavengers is easily an arcane weapon but not a dex weapon. though blood hounds and nagakiba definitely

I start with golden wow, flame grant me strength, then I go into boss room, use royal knighs resolve ash of war on weapon, hit the boss and it is dead.
It doesnt have to be with occult, it can be heavy scaling too if you want to only go strength.

Why they keep patching the damn weapons? that’s so stupid. The game itself is difficult af, so the weapons should at least be realistically comparable
nah, cos when people minmax this game the game becomes childs play, they outdamage the bosses by trading blows. The fun part about this game is learning movesets of bosses and trying to beat them under 5 tries.
