As always Mike great video. On the comment about the crank out windshield, one nite on a turn back to Somerville from NYC for M&M they gave me an old Mack that had them I my froze ass all the way back You can’t stuff news papers in front of you they kept blowing out lol
Hey Mike, again what a nice video. I think it’s one of the top videos in 2023. Everybody looks very happy. Thank you for sharing with everyone. God bless you.
I was there getting soaked loading and unloading Tuesday all day and it's still raining all the way to Sacramento and over Donner. Glad you got to go once in a life time experience. Great video bud. Glad he brought his umbrella 🤣🤣 happy trails
Looks like a great time. When you first walked into the display area of the building where the trucks are It reminded me of all the Northeast Truck shows at the Bayside expo. Bright lights, big trucks, tall ceilings. lol
What's up Boston Trucker, what an amazing video, seeing you guy's out and about is very cool. I am glad you guy's had an amazing trip and got to see some amazing site's and truck's, can't wait to see your truck. Hopefully she makes you and the Cardillos lot's of money. Stay safe out there my friend and keep the videos coming and always travel safely catch you on the next one.
Great video . Seeing Tony’s face in the passenger saying what are we getting into was priceless 😅 . Anthony didn’t say the F boom once come on 😢 Great team
Very cool post Mike. As big as cameras are now it's amazing why Truckers don't put a magnetic camera on trailers to back up , possibly helping those who have issues backing. Can't wait for the next post.
Hey Mike. Thank you so much for taking your time to bring all of your fans this awesome video. You are truly one of a kind friend. Keep up doing all that you do. You are an inspiration to us all. God bless you and your family. Merry Christmas.
Im the guy who brings the axles inside. What you probably missed was the wall of pictures in the test area. We can make a 963 float 😮. Been working at Kenworth for years and I'm still impressed by the trucks we build every day
Morning Mike just watched the video again you did an AWESOME job can't wait to see the ride your one LUCKY GUY to be a part of the Cardillo Family say hi to Anthony & Tony stay safe pal
what a fantastic kenworth tour and factory… my dad and my uncle and i once went to old kenworth factory long time ago that was once across the street from boeing field in seattle and we came in to work on cat 3406b and cummins ntc’s engines to install both jake brakes and pacbrakes on the engines and it was an experience seeing all of these ..
Cab overs in Europe because of overall length limits. Cab overs went away in the US when they stopped regulating overall length and just regulated trailer length.
I'm actually shocked they didn't lit you film the assembly process. I believe Mack in Pennsylvania does, but I'm not sure. As far as the cab overs. European countries still have length laws. And I wish the US manufacturers would build them again. A few years ago Freightliner offered a Argosy glider kit. It was popular in Canada. And Kenworth literally just introduced a new class 8 Cabover for the Australian market. The Kenworth K220 has the same lines, but modern as our old K100. I'm more a Mack guy,but I like all brands,. R.I.P. Waltham police officer Paul Tracy!
Cabovers are still popular in Australia, but many drivers don’t like them. Small sleeper cabs, difficulty in climbing up into the cab especially with things in you hands. Every time you tilt the cab, everything you have in the cab falls on the dash or floor and in an accident, you have no protection that the length of a bonnet provides. While the cabs might be wide, the engine tunnel takes up a lot of space.
@@TheBostonTrucker in Australia, Volvo developed a XXL size sleeper for the cabovers, but they still aren’t as big, but also not very functional. Western Star has one of the best sleepers. We outfit our sleepers very well here. Every truck has at least one fridge. As well as a stand up fridge , Sliding drawer fridges are practical. You can fit two under the bunk on a conventional cab bunk and some fit an extra on under the passenger seat. Nearly all new trucks will have diesel powered sleeper cab air con, microwave and tv fitted if you are driving long haul. Big fleets like cabovers so they can pull longer trailers and get another couple of pallets on, especially in B Double applications.
My two cents , cabovers were needed to meet the length laws of 55’ in many states when the law went away companies went conventional for drivers comfort and retention. Nice video Mike
You should request that your truck is not the drive truck from Seattle to Boston. You want the miles on your truck to be yours not the driver delivering it. A good friend of mine had his truck on the hook when KW delivered it from Seattle to New Hampshire a few years back.
Great video Mike, it's my understanding the cabover went away because too many drivers git hurt getting in and out. The companies had too many workman's comp claims. That's third hand information so take it for what it's worth.
That blue T680 KW......wow, camera mirrors? And that fold out handrail step thingie behind the fairings? Too fancy and futuristic. Ok, the W900 Icon Edition....you're gettin' there! So, the Red 1932 Model 88!! YES, that's more my speed! Beautiful truck. NO! to the cabover...I drove a Magirus cabover with 22ft flatbed/ building materials when I first got my class 3 and also Transtars, GMC Astros, and Mack F models. Nope, no cabovers!!
I thought there was a length limit in the old days and the reason for cabovers. They went away when the restriction was lifted, eh? Did ya explain to young Tony?
Image I knew aguy Lol that had Beaver lights on his mirrors they were so brite he would go through a set of lenses every week good thing he had a buddy that worked at H D that saved all the take offs can you imagine the wrecks from the perves that put the mirror camera on the seats o lord 👍😎👍

That W900 is absolutely stunning, still glad to see them making them like they used to look. If only they sounded like they used to! Lol

Just no "soul" in Euro trucks. Plain and simple. Thanks Mike! Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
Looks like a lot of fun! Can’t wait to see the new truck
Thanks for sharing Mike. Can’t wait to see more

You’re the man! Those axles are no joke!
Tony is braving that rain with a bad knee..

You’re such a tease Mike, you looked like a kid in a candy store.
I've been there twice. Watched my first w900b be built in 2011. Then my buddies 2018 w900b.
Kids in a sweet shop brilliant Mike great video as always so looking forward to seeing the new truck
You and me both!
Very cool video, you are lucky to have such cool bosses. KW

I have videos on RUclips of the kenworth factory
That's why I'm shocked they didn't want Mike to film. Unless they had prototype trucks behind the curtain.
Navistar won't let you film/photograph also(Springfield and Melrose Park).
That Icon was beautiful. So was that 680. Id like to try those camera mirrors.
They are!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great video!
Thanks!
Welcome to the westcoast. I live in Portland but I've delivered up to that kenworth in Renton many times.
Very cool! Thank you I love Portland!
Portland use to be a lovable city now its changed for the worst
My 55KW was built in the old Seattle factory. Flatbed Red got me one of the bricks from the original building.
I had no idea Cummins has a plant in Jamestown NY. And I've traveled through that town many, many times. I had regular stops there for years
Yeah me either
Cabovers are nowhere, give me a hood any day! Somebody got some swag!

I don't know why the sleeper areas are so small in today's cabovers.

Clean rides
Definitely

I mean they piggy back the trucks so they still get miles
Axles are pulled on decked trucks so nothing is turning internal to drive the speedo. Unless its electronic, I'm not sure on that.
Yeah, but you don’t have someone jam on your gears and put in the work on your engine

I thought the Seattle Package was extra windshield wipers
🤣😆
Did you guys go out back and see the specialty trucks being built??? C500, T800W 963?
No we didn't.
Funny to see the show the smallest cab of DAF there.. not the big one where you can walk around in it
GREAT✌️🇵🇷

Cool trucks
Turn signal on fender and someone still gonna be dumb and get hit wen the truck turns. The camera mirror is dumb also.

RUclips has videos of trucks being build in the factory.
I’m surprise they haven’t discontinued W900 yet.
This is the last build year for them
@@theoregontruckerT880really? I don’t recall seeing an official announcement.
@@theoregontruckerT880 Bummer!
@@theoregontruckerT880 i believe kenworth will keep building the W900 for few more years in which i think is good

Yes Mike that's what k w says but you and I will always love a. . MACK
Yeah I love Macks too
Gary Ridgways former place of work. Found KW paint at crime scene. My Buddy did his research had Tractor that he 100% without a doubt painted
Kenworth are so far behind European trucks, we have had some of these features for years
Can overs when away because the government removed the regulation of trucks length .
Yes
I live in mardas Oregon what is the phone number up there at that place I would like to go up there with my kw pickup that I put together
You can Google it.
If your boss wants a cab you thay will have to buy a mack TerraPro
I hate that they didn’t let you film inside.
Next
Next 🤷
To bad the w9 wasn't the color of the 680
W9 is beautiful but its got government juice on it
I’ll take a peterbilt over a kenworth.
They are both Paccar's
@@jrm88382 I prefer the look of peterbilt and they’re the same only in shareholders and power plants.
Daf considered to be shit in Europe …
oh really?
