Bowline knot was specifically designed to reduce the tension on the knot, to reduce the line breaking chance at the knot bending point (i don't even think you should call this a bowline anymore). And the way he pulled this together created a bunch of extra wrapping points making it all weaker :( Using the bowline is a good idea, doing it in the way how it is in this video is not.

How to untie it?
Two(2) tree huggers with some dyneema cord 2.5mm or 3mm and two(2) carabiners saves loads of weight and is quicker and easer to setup

You need to use some hammock straps. Ropes cut into the tree and kill it. Attach a marlin spike to the strap.
