these pictures show how much you love your animals, your house, the sea and nature in general. They are very lively. So good. Even if you only have black card to cut forms it transports so much it is like your life where you just make so much out of limited resources. This is such a strong metaphor of how golden you are : ) (transporting so much in these forms of yourself meets definitely the criterion of being an artist.)
Thank you, Silvia. : - ) I tried making pictures with more colours but it was too much. I was overwhelmed with the possibilities. I wonder what that means?
My grandfather worked in a book factory, printing gold letters on the covers. He used heat and egg yolk to make the gold leaf adhere. When he retired, he went into restoration of old books and my uncle built him a letter press from and old clothes iron.
Despite you saying you're not artist, looking at the subject, remembering it and painting afterwards, isn't that what artists do? This looks good to me, Tim.
Thanks for the ideas ! I am learning how t pinstripe fancy designs but, I love to play with all kinds of things. I love working on cars mostly but, since my injuries I can't. That idea would make for a really cool lighting project for outside with LED's or inside for a nightlight or low lighting ! There are really a ton of projects one could do with a lazer or a cnc like you have ..... for now I'll have to do it by hand and enjoy the journey it takkes me ! Have a great day thanks !
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 lIke all things in life if you don't practice you don't retain the skills. I practice pinstriping every day for at least an hour. It's more muscle memory but, I just tried a new white spirits or mineral spirits and all of a sudden nothing worked like it used to. For weeks I tried using it and with not the best results. Turns out that you don't want paint to thick or thin and dry time makes huge difference as well. Lessons learned with everything
I can’t help but think you could cut some of your more framed compositions out of thin metal for a wall hanging, or out of wood to put on the bottom of a tray, covered with glass. Your silhouettes are charming.
I immediately see the potential for some nice Yule cards. Animals were often part of the really ancient designs--why can't they take their place again in the festivities today?
They're really good, Tim - I have few artistic pretensions but I know how hard it is to draw a horse, and I reckon your horses are terrific! The cat is wonderful, too : )
I adore these 😍 Before reading the title, I actually thought they were in metal, to hang outside and get a bit of a rusty look over time 😊 I also wonder if you could add the channel's name, and sell your art while turning it into merch at the same time? Love your projects Tim!
Brilliant! Hey that gold leaf needs to be off the glass, so a layer down from the glass. Otherwise it will rub off as the glass moves in the frame or will become affixed to the glass over time. But all those designs are very marketable. Honestly if you can't put the gold leaf on the backer paper, I would leave it off. Your designs are strong enough to stand by themselves!
Wow! They ate so so so SO cute! If I had the equipment to do this for myself, I'd add 3 squirrels and a lovely little tree. Are you going to sell these? I love the ones with Buttercup. He is as handsome in black as he is in white! ❤
7:33 "Just talk amongst yourselves if this part is too quiet.." Tim, that's called ASMR and it attracts millions of views on RUclips :) Especially artsy and crafty things. If you titled the video "ASMR Paper Cut Out Silhouettes And A Touch Of Gold Leaf", and only put the quiet part, it would go crazy viral.
Hmm... Intriguing, this gives me an idea that I'll check out later. Also, how's the Railway doing as it has been a good ten months since an update video. I do believe in due time a more proper locomotive is needed (Tornado is nice and shows your creativity and Craftsmanship well but is not really a good fit due to how much it can hold at the moment). I also hope everything is going well for you guys over there across the pond. Cheers from Tennessee!
Maybe you can find a sponsor for everyday things. Like tea as Colin Furse has. Or somting that you support anyway. Horse food, dog food..... nails, bolts. But i love your creativity.
"I am not an artist" - Tim when making objectively gorgeous art. yes ahrem defintiively not an artist at all.... not even one bit. Much like the Tornado or narrow gage in general were merely fun little projects to do that might be of some help (or however Tim put it at the time). i love this channnel for many things but both Tim and Sandra are giving themselves far to low credit for their amazing work.
0:21 Please don't do that while the laser is running At the power level of that laser, even looking at the laser dot off a surface can damage your eyes
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 Regardless of whether or not it's a camera, it's still generally a bad idea to open the enclosure when the laser is on Even reflections off a surface can cause eye damage. Most CO2 lasers used for cutting are in the 50-100W range but any stray beams in the 50mW (1000x less) range can still cause eye damage. If there's something mildly reflective in the laser cutter or a misaligned mirror or even simply some smoke particles in the beam path that can scatter the light enough to produce a hazardous beam. Either way the designs look good.
That first design looks like it would make a great bookmark.
Beautiful work
This was new and different, but then everything you do is new and different. How exciting!
You say "I'm not an artist" but your drawing of the animals proves you are much more of an artist than most of us !

They're quite lovely, very dreamy. I think you actually are an artist. 😊

The house with the sea in the background looks amazing.
Love gold leaf. It's surprisingly accessable for being real gold!

Lovely. Please post some more garlic videos too. I find that super interesting, with your no till and your train and your drying shed.
oh these are wonderful, i love how you make so many different things. have a great one.
Brilliant! 😊
Your modesty becomes you. Lovely pieces.
Looking good
Is there nothing Tim can't do, engineer, charcoal maker, car manufacturer and now artist. 👍

Coral Draw, not heard of that since the 90s, I have Corel Xara kicking around somewhere.
Thanks for not adding music in the slight moments that aren't filled with talking! that drives me nuts on videos.

The house is my FAVOURITE Image ! And as others have said in the comments, music is not required at all.
I tell you what I come up with initially - a strong yearning to own a laser cutter! :D
Cheers Tim. 🇨🇦
Wow!!!!❤
They work perfect without the gold!
do a Christmas or nativity one there's still time to get them out all the best mate
the 'town musicians of Bantry'
Lovely
only a person who is not an artist would call himself an artist
Thanks!

I wish I had the time and money to work on the railway, but it will just have to wait a while longer
The gold was effective, it would have been good if you put gold behind the windows on the house design, just a thought.

@ 6:24,the bremmin town musicians . my late mom did a wood carving of this . i have it in a box.
More train stuff soon hopefully? 😅
❤🧡💚
They are beautiful. Would Etsy be a good outlet for you?
Thanks - I wonder what they charge?
Is it possible to buy your garlic through the post? For those that are outside of cork.
No problem C.T.. how much were you thinking of? €12/kg + postage..

That farmhouse is the wrong shape, all the best ones I’ve seen have rounded grass roofs.
looking forward to seeing more of the lathe
me too!
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 did you get my message about iron jonsey?
i would like to buy the house picture at 5:30, no gold needed it's perfect as it is, how do I go about it ?
Thank you very much. I'll try to work out how practical it would be to send them in the post. I'll post an update if I get anywhere with that

I agree about no gold. The black silhouette is perfect.
Thanks!
