    I did this and it worked. My spin rate was 4000 or more. After installing the DIY cardboard and practicing the straight takeaway i got it down to under 3000. It takes practice but this really did work for me.

    Even faster and cheaper is to use a Post-It note. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite. Stick the Post-It note on the shaft so the left edge points straight down the shaft and your diagonal line is at a 45 deg angle. You can hit balls with it and it doesn’t fall off. Thank you!!!

    This is great. The same training results can be achieved by striping or using an alignment stick on the ground at a roughly 45 degree angle to the target line at the trail foot. Use your core to get the club shaft pointed directly over that line. Over and over.

    Just made one for myself in 20-30 minutes using a frozen lasagna box, hahaha. Great video and thanks for making it. I'm poor and can't afford to drop money on all these golf gadgets, so this was great for me. Also, by the way, I used 3 flat neodymium disc magnets (1/2" diameter) to hold it to the shaft (steel shafts) instead of velcro. Works like a charm! Thanks again! I subscribed.

    Another excellent take away check is the take your stance. Place an alignment rod touching your left heel and your right toe (for a right handed golfer). When you get your hands at your right hip and parallel to the ground, the club shaft should be parallel to the alignment rod. Your clubhead will be outside your hands at this point and on plane.

    Made one by cutting a triangle out of piece of light wood.
    You can accomplish the same thing by keeping the leading edge of the club perpendicular to the line of flight.

      Good idea. An important feature everyone misses is not just the 45 degree angle from the shaft but the 45 degree angle of the plane that the arrow is on to the triangle. This ensures the correct amount of hinge and face orientation.
      I have a video coming out with a 3d printed version so stay tuned.

  • @AndreeMarkefors

    For people who want a slightly more authentic version of this, there are lots of options for 3D printing as well. Might be 2-3x the price of cardboard but would probably still win the price/performance challenge...

    You indicated 2.75 inches for the vertical lines of the triangle. You did not indicate the length of the horizontal line of the triangle so not knowing the length makes the drawing impossible to accurately produce. Unless I am wrong. I could be wrong!!

    • @migmatisgolf
      @migmatisgolf  11 месяцев назад +1

      The equal sides of the triangle are both 2.75 inches. As they form a right angle you don’t need the length of the long side although you could use the Pythagoras theorem. Hope that helps. If not try to be more specific so I can elaborate. Thanks.

      It aids in the takeaway, which for many people is one of the most crucial parts of the swing. It teaches you not to roll your wrist on the takeaway…which is a HUGE swing killer.
