You say people only want spinoff character on the roster then add waluigi who is a spinoff filler character. You do know that? He was only popular during the wii era after that he felt off. He only popular due to dumb memes and his toxic fanbase. In Japan they don't they even care about him.
If you think daisy a spinoff character you really know nothing about the mario franchise. You heard of mario land right? That game is a mainline game which make her a mainline character and she become more popular over the years she finally playable in mainline games. They can give her more unique move set from wonder but that never crossed your mind.
Cutting mainline characters like bowser_jr and rosalina while adding a useless filler character like waluigi will always be asinine logic. Shows how very little kids understand the mario franchise.

Also, what do you mean Waluigi was only popular during the Wii era? He was popular then and he is popular now. People like him and want him in games.
Daisy is a spin off character. Debuting in a "mainline" game doesn't change the fact that she was only brought back to be a tennis doubles partner for Peach. She is in nearly every spin off game but in none of the mainline games. I'm not sure why you would even argue this point.
