I remember I was shopping at Winn Dixie in New Orleans, and I saw Ndea with her little blue basket. I passed her up and I was like, 'wait a minute?' Was that? NO, couldn't be. Then I turned around and went to tap her on her shoulder and said.. "Excuse me, but um, you look like Ndea from the BNH. She was like, shhh! I said, I know, I know, but can I have your autograph? she said ok, but hurry up! I giggled a little, ripped off a piece of paper from the nearest thing I could find and she signed it. Epic moment.

Years ago after I got out the Navy, I bought a home outside Atlanta in Stone Mountain, my next door neighbor was a graduate of Spellman College and she and N'dea were classmates and she had pictures of the of them together hanging out. BNH is my all-time favorite and I was always asking her questions about N'dea. You're fortunate to have actually met her, she seems like a down-to-earth person.

mmmm..same case with me here, when they have session in Java Jazz Festival for the 1st time..everyone is queuing for the show, but it seems not many of them really knew the band member at that time :)..I saw Jan Kincaid was walking around looking for the stage..So I approach him, and asked him to take a photo and he was so nice and we take some photos..at that time I told him that how I've been their fan since few years back. it was in 2006 :)

Jan and Andrew and Simon have the funkiest grooves!! I love listening to Jan in All of their songs. Such varied funkiness he does on the drums! Complimented by Andrews nasty/funky bass lines and Simons tasty guitar licks. Another one of my fav songs from the Debut CD.BNH has and always will be a major influence on me for playing in a band and Ill be a fan of them 4-ever :)

You got that right. N'Dea was the final piece to the BNH puzzle IMHO. Her voice really turned that group's sound on! Her departure was something akin to Chaka Khan leaving Rufus. Just couldn't picture one without the other. So damn glad they reunited of late.

We have failed today's youth as it pertains to music. From the closing of high school musical programs to record companies caught up in the bullshit rap industry, great music like this classic from The Brand Heavies is an afterthought.
The legacies of every musical immortal is nothing but a distant memory. Kids of today have been brainwashed to believe that real good feel music is corny. I really feel sorry for our children of today because they will never know what good music is all about.

Mr. Brown, you've told nothing but the truth. It saddens me almost to tears when I pull up videos such as this and think about the current scene; it's as if the sun has set and has ceased to rise. What robbery to deprive children of opportunities for personal growth and fulfillment by not placing instruments in their hands, and thereby also robbing society of it's next wave of creative brilliance. I'm a musician myself since childhood, and playing an actual instrument with some proficiency has helped me to MAKE better music. I feel like most of this stuff being played today shows no real MUSICAL competence, originality, or true creativity; we're all the worse for it. 😢💔
